OK Just for sake of arguement. Lets say he pitched 5 innings 15 pitches per inning, which is way low, thats 75 pitches. Then he came back in game 2 and threw in to the 6th. 75 or more, probably more, thats 150 min. in two/three days. Pros throw 100 to 130 and wait 3 to 4 days. All I am saying is, this kid is 16. All the watching in the world won't help if he can't pitch when he is a SR. But what do I know? I'm sure coach knows his kids, but come on, he wants to win as badly as anybody.

What do you know about Bob Jones? How do YOU know thats it's not about to change? What do you base this off of? This thread has nothing to with Shepherd, but you bring us into and mock us for being excited about our New AD, Who we believe can turn this around. if your from Shepherd, PLEASE GET OUT. We don't need people like you running our program into the ground. That's half the problem. Players don't think we can win, which we can, because people from the school and in the town talk about how Shepherd sucks, you'll never win, etc. Please keep your negativity to yourself, We believe in Coach Jones, and were looking up. Bob Jones may be able to turn the program around as long as he lets the right little buddies play. If he dosen't he will be the biggest a-hole around and gone within 2 years. That is a fact. -

Tarkington was horrible in football back when I was in school 30 years ago, and have been ever since. The problem is a lot deeper than Coach Fortune. The problem with schools like Tarkington and Shepherd is they hire a coach then give him 2 to 3 years to turn the program around, and that is only if he plays their kid, if not he will be done after 1 year. Won't happen. Walter at least had them competitive in the other sports. -

Sounds like sour grapes. Quit crying, Lumberton got beat. It matters not if Livingston wins or loses they weren't expected to go 3 or 4 rounds. Lumberton was. Hope all you want. Thats all you have left. As for the Dayton fans be proud you have a great team and stop sounding like you have never come up with anything like the poster. Thru the years I'm sure you guys have tried to fire your team up with many different tactics. Good luck Lions, I hope you win. Don't see it happening, but it would be funny. Lumberton talks crap, got beat. Dayton talks crap............ well we will see. Actually, Lumberton's performance has nothing to do with the pic in question or how much crap Livingston talks on the field even when their getting beat on. There are no sour grapes here...Crosby beat Lumberton, not Livingston. How can you talk about Livingston talking crap as much as Lumberton talks. And it matters not who beat who, the fact is that Livingston will do at least as good as Lumberton did, and no one expects them to win. So go ahead and be a a bronco fan. At least that could get you a playoff win.

So in 43 years, counting this one, your school has only had 16 seasons with more wins than losses. They have had 13 coaches for an avg. of 3.2 years each. My guess, it is as much unreal expectations and no patience as bad coaching. You can't change the genetics of the kids, so change the coaches. Genetics are the one thing that the power players in the community as well as the school boards never want to admit when it comes to not being successful. that's faulty logic. it assumes that all the coaches in 43 years of history were "gotten rid of". many left of their own accord to move on to bigger and better opportunities. Blount moved to Tomball, Corn became Superintendent, Meekins moved to become administrator in another district, to name a few. some were interim coaches who never expected or wanted the position permanently. no, historically the community is supportive of the coaches. they supported Turner and he had two seasons at 2-8 but a "power player" wanted him gone despite how the community felt. despite that mistake we lucked out and got Hubbard who lead us from 2-8 his first year to 7-3 and 6-4 seasons. but there again the same "power player" wanted him gone. then we get Hanks, good man, no-one has a bad word to say about him, he just hasn't been able to get things lined-out. the general consensus is, for whatever reasons, he's not the right man for the job. now the same "power player" insists that he is.(i have my opinion as to the motives of this "power player" but won't get into it here.) it is understandable that it seems we as a community have recently been impatient with coaches but that is just not the case. if the community fell short in support of the coaches anywhere it is in the fact that they didn't stand up against the "power player" when he was removing good coaches and insisting we keep(sorry if it sounds harsh but) a bad one. as for our "genetics" - the majority understands that we, as a whole, don't produce enough star athletes to expect 10-0 seasons and we don't run people off when the don't produce that for us. but is it unreasonable for us expect seasons that are indicative of the talent we do produce? So how does one power player get all that done? What is the make up of the board? I don't see how one person can get all that done by himself. Most of the time there is more than one person behind every change.
