  1. I was at the Central game tonight and was told by som peoople from BISD that Kirbyville was trying to get "The Babe" for next Friday Night and that Alvarez wanted to play on grass.
  2. Tough for anyone to win in the playoffs with 5 turnovers!! This year kinda reminds me of '94. They had some turmoil then with suspensions and injuries and came back strong in '95. If it weren't for a great LaMarque team in '95, WOS would've put another triophy in their case. WOS will be a lot better next year with the experience their underclassmen got this year.
  3.     8th grade Deweyville - 37 Hardin - 0 This game was played last night, Tuesday,  because of the impending flooding to come in Deweyville. Deweyville completed an undefeated district season with a another dominating performance. This makes back-to-back undefeated district championships for this special group of kids. The future looks bright in Deweyville!
  4. I was at the game and let me say congrats to Livingston. The other thing is, that has got to be the WORST 4A stadium I have ever seen. The field conditions were at best horrible. The field did hamper the Jags more than the Lions. The central backs could not make their usual cuts and every time the QB set to pass he couldn't keep his footing. However, the game was won up front. The Livingston line flat out WHIPPED Central's on both sides of the ball. Livingston controlled time of posesion, so much so that Central had only two posesions in the second half. The positive for Central is, as much as they got pushed around their defense only gave up 3 points. They scored the other 7 points on a pick 6 off a screen pass. I talked to the coaches and they were worried about this game becuase they kids kept talking about PNG all week and were overlooking this game. Well this week they finally have PNG, so let's see if they can get their focus back and play a more inspired game next week. I'm hoping they will.
  5. Don't worry about Deweyville just yet. With the numbers we turned in we have a pretty good chance at moving down to 1A.
  6.           Central vs. Vodor! 57-56 in double overtime will be hard to beat.

  8.   8th Grade Deweyville - 22 Buna -        16 It was a great game with Deweyville scoring the winning TD with 1:30 left in the game and then stopping Buna on the 1 yard line as time expired. Both teams played their guts out and left everything on the field. Deweyville has an open week then plays Hardin to finish out the year.

  19. WOS - 33 K-ville- 13 I only have it that close because of the rain and mud. On dry field WOS 47 K-ville 13. The rain will hurt WOS' offense more than K-ville's.

  22. I don't know where Dave Campbell's got their imfo on BMT Central, but they didn't lose 18 starters. They have at least 10 starters back from the team that played their last playoff game. I sat down and talked to one of their coaches and we came up with 5 returning starters on each side of the ball, plus the all-district kicker! I would put the Jags in the playoffs before PNG. PNG fans talk a lot of smack for a team that went 3-6.
  23. As a naitive West Virginian I'd like to see him go to WVU. He could compete for playing time his freshman year. Jarrett Brown, Pat White's replacement, will be a senior so he would compete for playing time with Eugene Smith, a Fressman this year. He'll have a shot a BCS game every year there. If he wants to play b-ball, I'm sure he wouldn't mind playing for Bob Huggins. From my source around the SE Texas, right now the Mountaieers are the front runners.
  24. The game will be on 5/18 @ 7 p. m. @ Lufkin Hudson.
