PA Titans voted out of the STJFL????
oldschool_50 replied to BigTitan's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Well after doing a little research and it wasnt hard to find out the information I was looking for. I got a reason out of a board member from a surrounding city of PA. I was informed that they voted not to keep PA in the league because they thought that PA would stack their teams for next year, so they voted them out. Mind you, onl 1 team was actually accused of stacking. PA also informed the league that they would be expanding their teams like the other Associations I.E ( PA Lil Titans- Black, PA Lil Titans Red, PA Lil Titans - Grey) , because they had gotten a lot more interest from more kids to play next year. PA was going to keep the teams they already had and just add more teams to the league in every division. Now I think if you are a league and a city is lookinmg to expand, that would be a good problem, not a bad one. The person I got this information from seem to be kind of mad and one of the people who voted against PA, because their organization didnt beat PA. It also seems that it is more about winning in STJFL instead of about teaching and playing the best. So like I said in an earlier post. It was all about Talent. It happened a few years ago when Nederland (Well Nederland did stay for a whie and split up), Port Neches,Groves, LCM, Deweyville, Vidor, Lumberton, Bridge City and all the rest of these teams dropped out of Pop Warner to for mtheir own league. I was just starting out coaching then. They all left because of 2 teams in the league the PA Cowboys and the PA Jr, Bees. Both teams would whip all these teams every weekend. So instead of teaching their kids to play against the best, they dropped out and formed STJFL. NOW THIS.
Well, I was going to stay out of this and away from this thread until I read this comment. You see, I was the founding president of the STJFL. I was the president for the first five years that it existed. The reasons we left Pop Warner had nothing to do with what you say. Back in those days, things got way out of hand in Pop Warner. It was all about the adults. You couldn't even go to a Pop Warner meeting without all kind of screaming and hollering breaking out. Delegates from different towns would be arguing and cursing each other. This spilled over onto the field on Saturday mornings, and the last couple of years that we were there, police had to be called to Pop Warner games several times. We simply just did not want to be therer any more. Instead of trying to kick someone out, we went away and started our own league, but I can promise you it had nothing to do with winning or losing. This just goes to show what type of mentality you have. I have not been involved in Pop Warner or STJFL for the last several years. I do not know the reason you guys were kicked out, and it is not any of my business, but please in the future, know what you are talking about before posting on here. Good luck to you in your upcoming season. -
First let me clarify.. I dont have a kid that plays . And second :You expect LoneStar to list everything that will forfeit the game." Well, why not the STJFL does. In any sport you have penaltys for not follwing the rule. They are not made up as you go. You jump offside or illegal motion on the offense. Their is a 10yrd penalty. The rule is already set. So yes, they should state. If the rule is broken it will be a forfeit. What the rule states is The head coach will go before the board for discipline NOT the team forfeit a game. So they enforce a rule but not abide by the others. Get real. I guess you all like cheating when its beneficial to you. For some reason i dont think you all are getting the point. The kids were in the game. At the beginnig of the fourth there were a number of kids on both sides that didnt get their plays. Its just amazing all the other teams did. and one needed the whole eight but only 6 plays played in the fourth. Go figure. And its not about the MPRs its following the rules set in place to give discipline to the game. Evidently you all dont know the leagues rules.
HAHAHAHAHA.... so whose rules are you quoting this from? In every league that I know of, jumping off sides or illegal motion is a five yard penalty. Too funny. PS Play your kids!!!
the kids were in the game at the beginnig of the fourth like the rules say. Other teams MPR rep that was on silvers sideline told the coach the other team had players that needed plays. Now when he found out with over two miniutes left in the fourth he stayed in the huddle. You are down by two touchdowns and you stay in the huddle to get delay of game penalty to run out the clock. Because of this the little boys didnt get the two plays needed because only six plays played in the entire fourth quarter. With that being said. The other team lined up on the side line with time left on the clock as if the game was over. They were protesting before the game ever ended. Mine you its leagal; but the league handed the silver a forfeit. Thats NOT a rule in the bylaws. So not upset they upheld a rule, upset that they didnt uphold all rules. You have to play fair. Right? If a game is a forfeit due to breaking the MPR rule then by all means state it in the rules. The penalty for breaking the rule says the head coach goes before the board not the team has to forfeit. Just saying it was fair to the kids that played their lil butts off. And they couldnt go to the superbowl. STJFL rules state the game will be a forfeit and that you cant end a game the way the opposing coach did. I think Lonestar either need to Abide by their own rules are revise them.
Give me a break. All of the kids were not in the game at the start of the 4th quarter. Three of the five that needed plays were. The other two went in later. And there were more than six plays in the fourth quarter. I guess you think we all just fell off the turnip truck. And wasnt the entire silsbee silver flag coaching staff already on probation? And what about the poor kids that didn't get all their plays? None of you even seem concerned in the least about those poor little guys. Moral of the story, play your kids.

The UIL passed a similar rule back in 2002 called "Wills Bill" named after a player who died after sustaining a head injury playing football. It requires any player that becomes unconscious due to an injury to get written medical clearance before returing. -
Elhector you are in the wrong league, or you need to have a serious talk to your board. Last week I reffed, ran the chains, concessioned, finally got to coach, and then I got to stay late and help clean up. This is a typical game day for all of our coaches and parents
You reffed???

Local Media covering Youth Football - Why not STJFL??
I am not in media, but have had some dealings with radio and TV over the years. This is all about air time. It is a limited span that any media organization has to work with. If you take the time that each HS game gets even on the expanded Friday night shows you can see that it is only a couple of minutes if that. I believe that things like the events at Ford Park are covered more for the economic impact that having all those teams comeing to Beaumont has. If you gave every youth football program just a couple of minutes each you would need an hour long show and you do not even get that with HS football. Local papers do a better job, especially the weekly papers in the area. It is just a fact that youth sports (pee wee's) are never going to get air time, unless there is some wild play that someone sends in from a home movie. It is just the way that it is. Just encourage kids to stay with their sport and when they get to HS they will get on TV.
Good post, very informative. We try to get the Lonestar Events covered by the media as well, so I know where bulldog8 is coming from. -
The Bulls also asked for coverage for years. But I think they did this because its the first time all 4 of the Bulls made the playoffs at TIFI. Great job to the Bulls and the Belles the cheer and drill teams.
Congrats Bulls and Belles on making the playoffs. Goodluck!!! -

Any topic is fair game, but no one should make personal attacks. A discussion should be just that.....not a urinating match ;D
Funny how they let it go untill the Refs got POed... ;D
Thats the way it was in 2007 and 2008 when we played Deweyville. In 07 they beat the dog out of us and were very good sportsmen about the whole deal. Then in 08 when we beat them TWICE, they were very good sports. Sept Claude, for some reason he doesnt like the opposite team kneeling at the end to not run the score up. Hehehehehehehehehe.
you mean Clyde...lol
I've explained it every way I know how. I haven't called any names. You are accusing good people of doing things under the table. You are accusing people of lying and going against the rules. I have tried to explain but some folks do not care to hear the truth if it doesn't fit their preconceived idea of reality. Fine. Let's try it this way: I'm to blame. I personally stacked HJ's team with fifty Lumberton gorillas so that they could win a pee wee football game. I'm guilty as charged. You win, Trash. I couldn't sneak anything past ol' dead-eye. Why, if it weren't for Lumberton kids that we recruit, we wouldn't know which end of the football sticks in the tee. But wait 'till next year when we recruit kids from Pt Neches to play for HF and kids from Nederland to play for EC. My personal favorite will be recruiting Vidor kids to go play in.....VIDOR!! I'm just glad you didn't find out about the Kountze kids that play for Silsbee or the Little Cypress kids that play for MV and DV. That would have been the end of Lonestar as we know it.
;D ;D Classic Muck ;D ;D

The issue with the Beaumont Bulls SR team was one of tougher decisions we have had to make. We wanted Beaumont to be able to enter league play with us and give the kids from Beaumont an alternative to Pop Warner or playing select ball with TIFI. In opening negotiations with the people that were trying to form the Beaumont association we told them that we are basically a small school organization and that perhaps STJFL might be a better fit since they have many large school organizations and accept the idea of putting all the good kids on one team. We were assured that they had investigated that option and had decided to come with us. In our initial discussions the ground rules were that the teams would be of equal talent and from a narrow field of schools. Stacked, hand-picked or A-B-C teams would create a problem. It is very important that idea is followed since most of the elementary schools in our association compare, numbers-wise, with each of the four elementary schools that Beaumont would be bringing kids in from. The opportunity to combine kids from different schools to make a very talented team was foremost on our minds and in our discussions. We revisited that idea with Beaumont consistently and were assured that TIFI all-stars would not happen. Then we are faced with a TIFI Sr team. After expecting that Beaumont would get out and get a Sr team of kids from the designated schools we ended up with basically the same team that had traveled with TIFI the year before. The hand-picked group. That was not cool. As for calling everyone and their brother, your two leaders knew what the deal was. We had discussed what the problem was with them at length. They could have answered you. I could have answered you though I do not remember ever getting a call. Your leaders understood and knew what had happened to make us take the steps we did and had told us that they had seen it coming. We didn't see that happen with the other Beaumont teams and they had a stellar year and we even had the Super Bowl in Beaumont that year. All of the Board understood that you wanted to keep your TIFI team together but it would have been unfair to a whole lot more kids in our league to allow a select team to compete. Secondly, Deweyville has never been all 7th graders and no team in our league has ever been comprised of all 7th graders. After scrimmaging Deweyville, Clyde said that he had never seen a pee wee club with that much talent and Clyde would know. No one said that you cheated. No one begrudged your desire to keep your select team together but we would have been derelict in our duty to all the kids in the league to turn that hand-picked team loose against league teams. It would have been wrong. We pleaded with Beaumont to split their select talent before we even started and it appeared that they did....everywhere but the lone Sr team. This may not have been what you wanted to hear but it should have been known to you years ago. I'm sorry you were never told by your president. He knew. By the way, your son has done well at WB. mark
Thanx, my son and his fellow team mates work really hard...Just so you know, that team was not hand picked, or select, etc...we have sign ups just like everyone else does....how would anyone even be able to select kids for a football team? football is a sport of character and heart(for the successful teams)....you can't just waltz in to a school and pick that.....we had a great coaching staff and a great group of kids, you all know as well as I do, every once in a while a special group of kids come through and grow up together....that is one of those special groups. nobody recruited or went out and scouted....as a matter of fact, that was the first year those kids had played together....they have been reunited at WB as of this year. Just because Clyde hadn't seen a team execute plays the QB had been running since he was 7, means absolutely nothing.... Well, now I know, and the reason is as I suspected..... ::)....
Well put!!! I know Jay and I remember the situation and Jay did not run and hide like they are saying. Bototm line the Sr team was certified and the kids were kicked out. So much for inclusion. To bad ysall did not have the compassion for beaumont back then like yall have for the lumberton kid, then beaumont would have played in the LSL that year.
The bulls did play with Lonestar that year and also the year after that ??? ???
