Mayweather vs Mosely May 1st!!!!!!!!!!!
oldschool_50 replied to JoshD's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Going to be a good one, this is by far mayweather toughest test, Mayweather is undefeated for a reason, but I want mosley to win but I think mayweather will use his athletic ability and speed to win this fight, and will counter all night long, Mayweather vs pacaman is the fight so I hope we get to see it.
Well Baseball...for once we agree. I also would like to see Mosley take this one but I think Mr. Mayweather is much to fast and athletic for Suger. :-[ -
Yea your right, my bad. Accomplished was a poor choice of words on my part. He also had 33 amature fights winning 31 of them, so yea he "had" an accomplished boxing career. Now having said that, I have no intrest in seeing a 41 year old over the hill, fat, blown up middle wt. boxer, who has been suspended from boxing on two different occasions for testing positive for anabolic steroids, fight in boxing or MMA. There is a reason Toney cant get a decent payday in boxing these days.
won 72 (KO 44) + lost 6 (KO 0) + drawn 3 = 83 thats Toneys Record he's stud man, one of the best Ever, his boxing skills will be 100 times better than anyone in the UFC, I mean how aren't you a accomplished boxer when you have fought 83 times and lost only 6 times Career Highlights USA Today "2003 Fighter of the Year" World championship fights: 10-1-1 Rated, The Ring No. 4, WBC No. 4, IBF No. 10, WBO No. 4 Former IBF cruiserweight world champion Former IBF super middleweight world champion; 3 successful defenses Former IBF midleweight world champion, 6 successful defenses Former WBA Heavyweight champion The Ring Magazine "1991 Fighter of the Year"
Pacquiao vs Clottey at Cowboys Stadium
oldschool_50 replied to OldSkool97's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Thats right - unlike Pac Mosely HAS taken performance enhancing drugs , will mayweather demand a blood test in that one? doubtful, he just flat out avoided pacman! However, this fight is so big if mayweather and pac both win it will be even bigger and hopefully happen down the road. Thing is clottey and mosely are both tough fights and you know how boxng goes anything can happen so now there is no guarantee they will both win and fight each other Plus Mosely and Berto is a tossup fight in itself, that one will be interesting and I'm excited to see it!
JoshD You would not know a left hook from a three base hit :D I should knock you out three times for this post. And I know ;D ;D ;D ;D -
Just curious if there is a boxing club in the Beaumont area? My son has just discovered boxing. He's 9 years old and I'm excited that he is so interested in it. He's young but I have done some research and I have found numerous boxing clubs with kids even younger participating. I know there is the Police Activities League but the brief description I get on the internet makes it sound like it's just a program for troubled kids. Is there a gym/club etc. for "non-offenders" out there (ha)? I also found a club in Newton but that's a bit far. When I was a kid, there was a gym in Vidor for a while but that's the last one I recall. Anyway, if anyone knows of a club, please let me know. Thanks.
The Gym at 495 4th street in Beaumont is no longer assocated with PAL. It is now called The Golden Triangle Boxing Club and trains kids from all over the area (Lumberton, Vidor, BC, Beaumont, ect) their ages are from 8 & up. Their Number is 409 651 2362
That boy is a monster. Every time he steps on the field he is a threat to score. His defense is unparralel to anyone in his league. I remember when he was a baby and JJ and I would beat him up lol. He has come a long way. All he played with as a young kid was older kids and it shows now because he is a few steps ahead of most kids his age. I can also credit his athleticism to playing with the Port Arthur Cowboys who were not as succesful as PNG WHITE was and will continue to be, but the Cowboys offered the experience and oppurtunity to play against kids that were close to him in talent and a select few who may have been better. The second i saw him try out for PNG WHITE I said that he was going rock this league, and he did. The way he plays makes his teammates play at a higher level because they know if we can stop them and get the ball back, Shug can score, or if we can make all our blocking assignments, no one will catch him. He can hit, he has speed, he has the strength and upbringing to be very succesful. He is not a cocky kid because dad did not raise him to be that way. He just lets his play talk. The scary thing is, he is only going to get better. This summer he will be running track, the boy does 200 pushups a night. All he needs is a little more meat on his bones. As long as he has his current coaching staff he will be ok. They knew how to build the offense around him and how to use his athleticism as a decoy for play action and QB keeps. They did a wonderful job at practice instilling the fundamentals and the practices were well organized. Congratulations on PNG WHITES SEASON AND SUPER BOWL WIN!!! As for you guys who think my brother will be stopped at the next level. He was already faster than alot of the kids above him and his talent will only increase with his competition. I am a firm believer that my bro will continue dominance even though his stats will decrease. However, the results will remain the same. BEWARE PNG WHITE #28, THE BEST IN THE PEEWEE LEAGUE CURRENTLY AND AIMING FOR THE TITLE NEXT YEAR AT THE NEXT LEVEL. DO NOT DOUBT MY BROTHER, HE WILL DELIVER!!!!
the second you saw him TRY OUT FOR THE PNG WHITE??? WOW tell us more?
I do not think that Silsbee realizes what they are getting into here. Maybe if they can pull in enough kids from other teams. WOS is not just good--they are much better than that. Just look at the loopsided victory over a very good LUM-White team. The game was never really close. I would be worried about the boys from Silsbee (and I am not trying to talk trash) getting hurt. You cannot ask anyone to tell the WOS boys to let up. For the sake of the kids from Silsbee, I truly hope that I am wrong about this. This game could get really ugly, really fast.
Yea your right....Coach Bayliss is showing his inexperience on this one

Wow, didn't realize what a can of worms this would open. I'm just saying in my opinion as a guy who has been a hi school, semi pro, pee wee ref for the last 10 years it seems that if 10 minutes is too long for 14-15 yr old kids that have been through 2 a days and on a year round work out program and play late in the evening it's probably too long for the little fellas that play at hi noon. I know when we get mid way throught the 4th quarter in most instances, I don't see the competive fire the their eyes anymore. The majority of them are ready to call it a day. Oh well, this point will be moot in about 8 weeks when it cools off to 85!!!!!! If I was the Grand Pooba of the league, we'd play 7 minutes quarters with every kid having to play 1 quarter but that's just me...Good luck to you all this year......
-
yea silsbee is in this year 8) 8) 8)

BRAWL IN LUMBERTON & B.C PEE WEE GAME???
oldschool_50 replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
come on now people... channel 6 news lastnight, front page of the enterprise this morning, now they are asking for video. this is not only making the STJFL look bad, it is giving all youth football around here a bad name. the STJFL has some good people in charge that will do a good job taking care of this situation.let's all just back off, let it go , and let the STJFL directors do their job!! -
A great big thanks to all 4 Lonestar playoff hosting associasions "EC,Warren, HJ,and Silsbee". This year the playoffs went off with out a hitch. The games were all good, the food was great and everything was well organized. All of our hosting associasions did a fantastic job!!

Well thanks Pa papa! No, just going to have only one ref show up so I can do some illegal stuff and get away with it while he only watches your kids. Then I will wave my magic wand over my 4 seventh graders two of which are first year players and transform them into 8 or 9 seventh graders and them sprinkle pixie dust on all of them to make them 13, then I will have them shave and teach them more illegal (cut) blocks and how to be sorry and onside kick, then best of all I will teach them how to hit hard! a big no no. Of course all of this is possible by hand picking them, all 14, one of which came to me after Mauriceville released him because he was no good then I made him a cheater and he now starts at tightend and corner back. Then I will have C.L give me hand signals from your sidelines and make Mark side with me as he endorses all my other sorry activities. Then I will soundly beat you. Hand signals??....That's funny right there! just when you think you have heard everything, some crackhead comes up with somthing out of leftfield.

hey 4life, remember when we were all coaching? you, me, muck, big charlie, the capt. we all used to take turns beating each others butt! boy did we have some wars!! I can remember wanting to beat your team so bad I could taste it, but when we lost it was OK. when we finely did beat you guys, after the game you beat me across the field to shake hands with a smile. that's what youth football is all about. hey why don't you make a come back next year? youth football could use a good man like you. I hear another old timer might be getting the itch (not me). I want say Any names, I will let him decide first, and make the announcement himself.
-
well crusher, the next time I see you I will make sure and pat you on the back for all the great things you have done for the kids on your team. when I read your post not only did I see an opinion but also an accusation. I just wanted to make sure you knew who you were accusing, and I bet it's not who you thought. You see "THEY" had nothing to do with it. I can assure you "THEY" DID NOT PICK WHO "THEY" WANTED. A little seven year old boy picked from a hat with all three presidents permission. I will state the truth one more time to make things clear---BONECRUSHER DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT!!!!
-
holly/bonecrusher are who ever wants to know...it was me, I made the decision to draw from a hat. with the three presidents permission that were tide. if you want to be upset with someone, it was me!! you are welcome to come to our elections in January and vote my TIRED OLD BUTT out of office if want, are better yet run for something and get involved. never mind you must be one of them who sit around and do nothing,... and complain if things don't go your way.
