Cleveland/HJ commonn opponent is Stafford. HJ had a some trouble with this team last night. Cleveland beat this team from start to finish on Stafford's home floor without their starting center Cedric Reed. Just some food for thought.

I haven't seen them play one game and they have little to no chance of winning state imo.

You can't imagine what this community is going through right now. It is beyond words.

My post was a heads up and not a reprimand to previous and following posts. I totally see the relivance, AAW. I'm close to the issue so it's tough. From a bball standpoint he was a minimal impact player, but freinds with other key players. There will be some effect because that is human nature. I think when the ball is up in the air it will be "game on". I really want to see the best the Indians' got against the best HJs' got in the area round. I don't want to see that game tainted at all.

I have seen the Coldspring team this year. Yes, most of the football team play basketball, but that usually doesn't mean a whole lot. Gilbert plays, as well as, Cummings, but their gridiron talents do not fully translate to the hardwood. Sophmore guard Sikes is the engine that moves the machine for them. There are some nice pieces around him to make them a solid team. They have a couple of long athletic fowards and Matt Wilson in the middle(6'7" 270+). They will beat Navasota and Silsbee will advance as well, so this matchup is going to happen. I think it will be a competitive game, but I'm not ready to stack my chips and bet it all on Cspring.

No worries AAW. I promise not to hold against you guys. By the way, I would give just about anything to see my Indians and the Tigers square off for the region III title. Man, that would be a good one.

I have a question. Does Badsanta's dillusional loyalties rest with Silsbee?

I agree. When Huffman lost their big man it changed their team drastically. It will take a perfect game from Huffman for them to have any chance against HJ. Even then I'm not sure they can win.

Coldsprings is the one to worry about. If there whole team is elgible, the tigers will not blow them out. If they stay out of foul trouble and keep it close early, Coldsprings can win that game.

I really wanted to refrain from comment on HJ vs Indians predictions for a couple of reasons. One, both teams have to win game(s) before they have the opportunity to square off, and second, I didn't want to be baited into any trash talk I would regret later. Having said that, my first concern is more for HJ. They will have to win two games that won't be layups to reach the quarters. If they do, the last two years have no relivance to this years playoff picture. Many faces have changed so the outcome will be influenced accordingly. There so many ways to breakdown this matchup, but I will wait to see if it comes to pass first. All I will say, for now, is I have a feeling Cleveland is about to do something specail. ROLL...TRIBE...ROLL!!!

Taking the approach of profanity as a tool to coach or motivate is due to ignorance or laziness. Motivation comes as a result of inspiration, and the use of profanity laced tiraids does not do much to inspire. You have to reach those places your players don't talk about to truely lead them. Through the development of character and integrity, performance at a high level will follow. Coaching is just simply knowing more than everyone else. Coaches use profnity to draw away from the fact they don't know what they are talking about. Hone your craft, don't settle for anything, and the knowledge you will aquire and convey to young people will help their performance and change their lives for ever. No curse word ever did that.

All I know of about athletes withdrawing is one of our highly touted freshman transfered at the end of the semester to Liberty. His aunt that he lives with moved and that was that. I can tell you Liberty's football team just got better when he did.

That info is all accurate. I think Jamaul just feels better thinking its a possibility. Football is his passion and I think he will rehab and train hard until fall as well. Hate it for that kid. Stuff like that should never happen to a senior. It's a shame.

AAW, that is not confirmed yet. He is keeping his options open at this time. Most of it depends on his doctors. This is still a very good team, but depth will be an issue come playoff time. They really only go 6, sometimes 7 deep, depending in the matchups. One of the bench players receiving considerable minutes is a freshman, but he has played pretty well to this point. If the Indians take advantage of their post players and make their free throws, they will be very hard to beat. Even if Jamaul Ross were to come back, it would be a tall task to get in game shape and be a key contributor. ROLL...TRIBE...ROLL!

Side note: Craig would sometimes warm up by shooting three's from out of bounds on the baseline. He would make one after another. It was the craziest thing you ever saw. Man, he was a pure shooter. Craig's shooting range started when he got off the bus. He was sick.

Interesting topic. I can't believe i'm saying this but AAW is absolutely correct. I played with Craig Lillie and he was as good a basketball player as Cleveland has seen. Boo(Brian) Davis is the best athlete to come down the pipe in Cleveland, that guy could play everything at a very high level.

Cleveland wins this one 37 - 6 over Tarkington. The seniors for Cleveland played an outstanding game tonight. Now it is on to basketball. Consider that your warning. ROLL...TRIBE...ROLL!

I am simply taking inventory of where our program resides in the events that have unfolded in the last six months. The new coaching staff is in a tight spot, as well as the players. I felt all the changes could be a formula for disaster but I wanted to be wrong. I am just a fan of the program that vents frustration when needed. I have great regret for the players and their families for the tough season endured to this point. It's not over till it's over. A couple of wins from the Indians go a long ways. I try to remain objective and at the same time I bleeded Indian red. I stand by the Indians thru thick and thin. ROLL...TRIBE...ROLL!

I remember a better day, a kinder day, not to long ago for Indian football. The days where trash talking and bold predictions were part of make up of Friday nights in Ctown. Three straight trips to the playoffs and two district titles later, the team and the town are still trying to sort out the wreckage of questionable district leadership and the theory that prevailed to get us where we are now. Injuries and youth are the process of change that all programs endure, but the senseless changing of the guard(coaching) is not. The present team is composed of several three year lettermen who are suffering through a season that was not their doing. It is hard as a fan to see the many people affected by all that has happened since this summer. I know it is just high school football, but good luck on selling that to the kids who went through two-a-days and the fans there faithfully every Friday night. I know it's never over till it's over but I hear the fat lady tuning up. To all the mighty Indians sell'in out and giving it their all on Friday nights I want to say "Thank you." Play each game like it is your last, because one day it will be. Best of luck in the batttle of the C's! ROLL...TRIBE...ROLL!
