Shepherd vs. Cleveland.....
indian15/16 replied to insidetrap's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
It is good to see some wins in the lower ranks, but make no mistake about it, for the tribe to be back it will take some wins on Friday nights. Tonight is a very important game with regards to the 2010 season. It can right a lot of wrongs or set off a lot of sirens. The offense has struggled against some decent opponents but the o-line seems to be stuggling a bit with scheme or assignments. District games are what paves the road to the playoffs, so it is time straighten out the kinks. I think Cleveland is the favorite tonight over a young Shepherd team but I don't know that it will be a cake walk. The Indians defense has looked good at times this year, especially last week, and the seniors have played very well for the most part. If they can get a grip on the turnovers they should find themselves with a chance to win in district. We will look back and say "That's the night it all turned around" or "That's the night it all fell apart." I think it will be (a) instead of (b). ROLL...TRIBE...ROLL! -
Cleveland??.....Be careful what you wish for!

Ringo-right, Ctown-wrong There is no prior history that exists between Coach Maple and Sup. Cowart thru work or school. Any effort to prove so will go to great lengths with no reward. I think the purpose of the thread is not to lament the struggles of our Indians, but to remember to take caution when you evaluate a situation that can so greatly influence the lives of so many(past coaches, present coaches, present players, community, etc.). To those who have tried to access the situation as an outside observer, your best bet is to not comment on this topic at all. Hear say is not a reliable source in these type matters and all to often that is the information expressed as the truth. It is just the truth as you know it. The Indians' season was going to be a work in progress all along, and a difficult one at that. We need to support the staff at present but we still can express our sorrow for the one that is gone and not be insulting the kids that give it their all on Friday nights. Winning tends to solve a lot of problems and losing seems to create them. That is the price you pay when you choose such a profession. ROLL...TRIBE...ROLL! -
The flexbone or flex option offense is the result of taking wishbone offensive principles and putting them in a manipulated spread formation. The coach at G Tech is the mastermind behind it. He was the OC with June Jones at Haiwii and they ran the Run-n-Shoot, the grandfather of the spread offense. He got hired as the head coach at Georgia Southern and decided to take the slots and move them behind the tackles, which created the run option to the pass oriented formation. Flexbone differs from slot t because when the slot t offense breaks the huddle everyone knows who is getting the ball in those series of fakes, in the flex option it could be one of three guys on every play. The QB is very important because his read of the defense determines who gets the ball most plays after the balls is snapped. Coach Johnson of G Tech has taken this system to Georgia Southern, Navy, and now G Tech and won at every stop. The offense is very hard to defend if you have a short amount of time prepare.

*Hardin-Jefferson Vs. Cleveland Broadcast*/HJ WINS!!!

Congrats Indians on a very good season. I know you did not reach your goals but learn from your mistakes, be patient, and life will present you with another opportunity. Set backs are a chance to reflect, perfect, and apply yourself to a new goal. Do the work and leave no stone unturned and all your goals and dreams can be reached. Talent is only part of the puzzle. You have to find the secret. It is different for every person, that is why it is a secret. Failure is a great chance to grow as player and a person. Press on and will support and cheer for you the whole way. -

He wears slacks and a collared shirt and hangs out on the bench. Enjoy this coach at the helm while you can because it wont last much longer. There are to many underachieving programs at bigger schools who will eventually hear the cheers and come hire this guy. Ever team he coaches is situationaly prepared and have a bball I Q that is off the charts. Tonight a team with lesser talent prevailed for several reasons and they all begin with Coach Sutherland. I respect him and his teams but the fans leave a little to be desired at times. All that being said I don't see them winning state but every victory the rest of the way is a testament to him and his program. He seems to be the X factor Cleveland has no answer for. Cleveland also has no answer for a team that refuses to roll over because the talent pool is not as deep. Several cheap shots toward the end of the game once again prove that character has more value to a team than many realize and lack of character can be very costly.
That is the point I am making, because of the man in charge. Hello.
-

Hold up on the excuses for FB Hightower. The list of loses at the hands of the Indians will be long and distinguished by the end of the season. These boys are for real! -
Cleveland is a good football team, but I don't think they are as good as last year. As far as the 2 DI prospects, Mallet is the real deal but the big boy is still pretty raw, and you shouldn't have any problem blocking him. I know this though, Cleveland let some bad teams score some points on them this year. I hope that cleveland can stop the passing game in the spread, which they aren't very good at ,and if you have a hoss running back to go with it, look out Indians. Good luck to both teams and I say BC 24-21
Keep picking against the Indians and eventually you maybe right. I'll tell you everything you need to know about this defense. The starters only played one full game in district against Coldspring. That offense was averaging over 42 points a game and only scored 12 points that night. Our best 11 will take the field Friday night and that tips the scales our way, like it or not. The fact is that Cleveland is the better team and the goal now is to survive and advance. That is exactly what the Indians are going to do. Win by 1 or 100. I don't care, just win! ROLL...TRIBE...ROLL!!!

WO-S vs. Coldspring Predictions?
Well i guess we practiced against our jv cause we figured they were just about on the same talent level as coldsprings LMAO jk But i guarantee the backup qb we have on our scout team is just as fast if not faster than coldsprings qb!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH NO! -
The conclusion of this article tells you everything you needed to know from the beginning. The parent filed charges against the campus police officer. These officers office in the very room the surveillance equipment is in and they are the ones who insisted that the coaches erased that footage. I don't think Sherlock Holmes services were ever required to figure this one out. For the record, the kid was never stabbed. He also was the one who started the fight and resisted the cop. There were plenty of eye witnesses with a better vantage points than those cameras who have attested to that.

Cleveland Vs. Splendora 8th Grade

You know that was not going to change the outcome of tonight's game, though. Cleveland was just a little to much for you guys. It was a solid night on both sides of the ball for our boys and Quan (#1) had the best run I've seen all year. It was amazing. Your boys played hard and you should be proud of them. The Wilson kid plays with a lot of heart. I am curious, now that you have seen Cleveland and Coldspring first hand, how do you think it would have played out on the field?
Geez talking about a dad that relieves his past through his kid? dude you got problems. poor kid.
This is one of two things: 1. Someone that I know just yanking my chain. 2. Someone who does not know me at all and can't read, can't think, and wouldn't want to judge me because that pool is a little to deep for you to swim in. Stay in the kiddie pool you loser. I gave props to two kids in my thread, one from each team, and neither of them were my son. Stick to what you know, Bernie, which is not much at all. -
Hats off to Cleveland last night. You guys are the strongest team we have played this year, and definately beat Coldspring in a game. Yeah, #1 was a nice addition for you guys, IMO the best back after #24 PJ. Top to bottom, you had more stronger, faster, bigger kids and dominated the game. That group will be scary for many years to come.
Thanks for the compliments, Rammer. Best of luck in the future and nice work all season long to you and your team. -

A true battle took place in Coldspring on Friday night. Both teams giving their all and not wanting to be the loser. Someone always has to lose and it was Coldspring on this night. I always give credit where credit is due and some is due to the Trojans. I am Indian thru and thru, but the Trojans are a good football team for sure. It sounds odd saying this but they are a better team with the absence of Scott who graduated last year. They used their skill players much better than last year and played very good in the trenches. Cleveland is the better team but the margin is much smaller than I thought it would be. The Tribe is destine for great things this year I believe, but after seeing the Trojans in action, WOS might want to get ready for one and done this year in the playoffs.

All I was saying is let's learn from that close situation and build on it. You should punt on the 36 going out on 4th and 4..... Right??? Give Coldsprings worse field position and make them go further instead of letting them almost tie up the game. Good game both teams. Coldsprings had it's chances. Cleveland came out victorious. Roll Tribe!!!
i been watchin' dis site for a minute, but i nvr say anything. after watching last nights game i cant stay quiet any more. it looked like the coach was picking plays outa hat, no rhyme or reason. wen you run in the middle and slip in the mud for the 10th time you would think to try something else. tha QB was 2-3 passing with almost 100 yrds why not throw more. i counted at least 5 punts by the indians. its not a crime to throw on 1st or 2nd down. my team got very lucky last night. im afraid come playoffs it gonna be the same sad song as last year. stop the run,da indians done. Clevelands 8th grade vs Coldsprings 8th grade

Bad news for all awaiting this one. The game has been officially canceled. The Cleveland 8th graders were not happy. They had been waiting on this one all year. Hey Rammer, I'm afraid they might be looking to take it out on your boys next week. Best of luck. -

Best Defensive lineman in the 22-3A District???
indian15/16 replied to SRP1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I was just thinking last night how much I hope Cedric Reed gets any opportunity to learn some true techniques for his defensive end position in the offseason. He has tons of raw ability and with the right in depth coaching of that position the sky is the limit. I think his future in football will be attacking the quarterback, not catching passes from one. -
CLEVELAND VS. COLDSPRING / BATTLE OF THE C'S
indian15/16 replied to indian15/16's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I think it is safe to say that mother nature is an Indian fan. If this game turns into a mudfest the Indians will be right at home with their ground attack. If Coldsprings has an advantage it might be speed, but those types of conditions take away speed and turn it into north-south power football. Everyone knows it makes going to the air almost impossible. I liked Cleveland in this game from the beginning, but as the game gets closer and the forecast gets worse I really like the Tribe.ROLL...TRIBE...ROLL!! -

I think our 8th graders could run a good game with your varsity players! ;)
Easy C-Town. I love our boys too, but right now I just want them to handle that Coldspring's 8th grade unit. I can't sit still because of these two games. Battle of the C's: Varsity & 8th Grade!
