I'm not "made"?? And if you and ST413 would like to review the original post, you and he will see that I acknowledged that Sigler has shown restraint at times in the past during district play. As far as the Wagner game, can't speak to it directly because I didn't see it. -

Whoaaa......touchy..touchy. Lol. Only commenting on what I've seen in the past and it appears the old can learn new tricks! I'm so happy there's been some improvement in this area and very sorry to have offended what appears to be a family member or Sigler's agent. Lol....smh -

Did they hire a different Coach Sigler?? With the exception to the occasional district game, I don't think "call of the dogs" is in his vocabulary. That's been a criticism I've maintained with regards to him. It lacks class and sportsmanship and maybe more importantly risks injury to key players. -
This is unfortunate on so many levels, the least of which is the fate of the basketball team but that would and should be the focus for this thread. The incident in question to my knowledge took place on Monday, possibly Tuesday, prior to their bi-district game against Cross Roads. It's my understanding that these comments were made in jest and were an attempt at humor. Unfortunately for these two young men they didn't account for their audience at the time nor the level of inappropriateness of their comments considering the tragic events taking place in schools all across the country. There may have been a more reasonable and logical way to resolve the incident but when you consider it on a larger scale I suppose you can't be too careful. I've known Coach Foster for some time now and consider him to be a fairly good judge of character when it comes to his players. There have been talented players with many off the court issues that he wouldn't allow on his team in the past and that would be true today. These two men in particular have been ingrained in the program for some time and for 2 years at the varsity level. I think if there was a core issue with their character it would have been identified by now and probably dealt with and since there has been no such action to this point I would be left to assume that Coach Foster was generally satisfied with these two young men on and off the court. As for the basketball, it's unfortunate indeed when considering the rest of the team, coaching staff, and fan base because they had the potential for a return to the regional tournament after a years absence. I'll say this as my parting thought, that though the loss of the two players contributed to the demise of the Wildcats against Crawford last night, it in no way was the reason the Wildcats lost. Just my opinion.....

#12 must be Jaylon...couldn't shoot a lick for the most part but I'm sure he's improved some. He's definitely athletic though. I wouldn't want the ball in his hands if I needed a shot to drop in crunch time but I do remember him being sneaky good on the offensive glass. That could come in handy. FB E. losing #5 to graduation is huge. That kid was lightening quick, slick with the ball, and an unbelievable help defender. He may have been the best guard I saw in SA last year outside of Carson Edwards. -

Was Punishment to Hard on Devin Mccain
indian15/16 replied to BADSANTA's topic in High School Boys Basketball
I was really late to the party regarding all that's taken place since Tuesday. I saw the video and it's very disturbing to say the least. Young Mr. McCain will be charged with a task greater than refining his basketball skills, in that he will have to rebuild his character and integrity from the ground up. If he's unsuccessful in that pursuit, basketball won't matter. This is the land of second, and even sometimes third, opportunities so he will have his chance. I guess what I find most surprising in all this is the free pass seemingly issued to Sigler at this point. I have seen some subtle instances that make me question him as a leader and what his true message may be to these young men outside of X's and O's. I truly believe when it's young people who have a clear leader, these types of behavior and attitude tend to start at the top and trickle down. The good people of Silsbee might want to keep Coach Sigler under the microscope moving forward. IMO there are far better than him that would jump at the opportunity to lead these young men. Notice I didn't say coach, I said lead. -

I'd love to pump it up for my hometown boys but there's just no way to spin it. I love the addition of Coach Brackett but it's gonna take a little time. The cupboard is a little bare at the moment. I think if Silsbee comes in to town Friday with the intent to win by 50+, then that's what they'll do. If Sigler goes to the end of his bench and sits the top seven players for most or all of the 2nd half, it will be a differential of 25 to 40. Make no mistake though, this game will be over at halftime. -

If he has multiple D1 offers, it furthers the point of the demise of college basketball and the negative impact AAU continues to have on this wonderful game. -

This is not that big of a loss. He is athletic to an extent but not a very skilled basketball player. Unless you're impressed by slightly above average ball handling and the occasional dunk. He would have had to made significant improvements over the spring and summer since his departure from Cleveland for this statement to be untrue. -
In the basketball thread, I saw no mention of Trey Tate from Silsbee. Not sure how his life/golf got sidelined but he was a solid player back in high school. I don't know about great but he was solid. We squared off a few times back in the day.

You vaguely ring a bell. If I'm not mistaken, you're related to Bruce in some way. Yes? Also, it looks like I'm gonna get 1 to 1 1/2 a side.
