1. Headed out to Baytown today. The two kids that moved in from Liberty are the best two players on the team. Robinson will probably have to go both ways.  Just too fast to not have him play defense as well.  He had probably five carries on offense for 150 yards. Fountain had about four catches for 125 yards if you count the one that was brought back for a penalty. Not sure if that says more about them or the rest of the guys. Leonce did not play. Lee will have a very speedy set of skill players.  They have about 7 skill position types that have good athleticism and size in some cases. They only had about 80 kids, which isn't bad compared to previous seasons. They do not have much on the lines.  They do not have much at linebacker that I could tell. The qb that is going to be a sophomore next year will have to grow up quick.  He's the best shot they have to get good play there.
2. Guess the pressure got to them.  Dawson even finished ahead of them in the finals, and they smoked them by 10 meters at district. They have most everyone coming back next year.  Nice season Ganders.  Just too bad they are in what is possibly the most difficult region in the nation.
3. Lee got dq'd in the 1600 relay unfortunately. 800 relay will be in finals today with the 4th best prelim time. Robinson turned in top 10 national times in the 100(10.55) and 200(21.35) to get through to the finals. Unfortunately, that top 10 time in the 100 was 3rd best in the prelims behind Burrell and Brown. If he can finish 3rd in the finals, he should be the at large pick to go to state with that sort of time. Just too bad they did not get through in the 1600 relay.  I think they had a real shot to place in both of those relays and have Robinson place at state, and maybe end up with a top 3 overall finish at state.
4. You did it again though.  You put a sort of caveat on it. You are sure that the WOS students will be disciplined.  Period, hit send.  There is no more that needs to be said to qualify it or put any limiters on the statement. This story has nothing to do with anything that Silsbee did.  That is a different story for a different thread and does not need to be noted in relation to this story at all.
5.
WO-S and Silsbee both need to get a handle on this.  This has been brewing since the January basketball game in which there was a major brawl involving students and parents/fans...from both schools.  We sent extra police protection and staff when WO-S played at Silsbee in February because of threats made on social media.  WO-S will handle their kids involved in this, but Silsbee needs to do the same.  No one went to the media when the majority of the Silsbee team showed up at our first playoff game at EC and tried to fight.  No one went to the media or pressed charges when a car full of kids in an orange Mustang followed a SUV full of Mustang fans and threw stuff, hitting their car because they had hoped all the hype on social media would settle down.  Those involved need to be handled firmly and abruptly because that type of behavior is unacceptable.  I have confidence that our students will be held accountable, as they should be.
The last sentence was all that was needed.  The rest sounds like one of those parents that makes excuses for their kids when they do wrong.  WOS did wrong.  No more needs to be said about the story.  Own it, fix it and let's go on about our business here.
6. ] Results linked above.
7. I would think they should keep the results of the races that have been completed.
8. Lee had another kid named Jacoby Fountain that made it into the 100 meter finals.  He also apparently is a transfer from Liberty. This is the first time I have watched the Lee track team this year.  Just been keeping up with results.  Robinson is an electric athlete.  Can't wait to see him on the football field next year. The relay teams both have 3 underclassmen on them, so the Lee track team should be good to go for next year too. Very exuberant fan base cheering on the Ganders out there tonight.  Robinson's mother was very proud of her son, as well she should be.
9. Lee worked them over tonight at the 24-4A meet.  Whipped Dawson in their own stadium. Robinson won the 100 and 200, both going away. Lee won the 4X200 by about 30 yards.  They won the 1600 relay by about 70 yards.
10. Desoto is 5A right?
11. Anyone got any results?
12. The transfer from Liberty, Robinson, has the top time in the state at the moment in the 200 in 4a. Lee's 800 and 1600 relay are both top 5 in the state in 4a. Nice for Lee to do well in something for the first time in a while.
13. Man, looks like the Ganders might have the goods this year on the track. Have a top 50 national time in the 1600 relay as of the Clear Creek meet yesterday. Top 15 national time in the 800 relay. Hope they can stay healthy and make Baytown proud this year.
14. Where did this Dionte Robinson kid come from for Lee? Ran a 10.50 in the 100.  Even if handheld, the next closest was a 10.63 from LaMarque and then everything else over 11.00. Also ran a 21.78 in the 200 to win by over a half second. Looks like after a little research that Robinson played for Liberty last year?  Anyone know anything about him? Lee should be in pretty good position to go to regionals in all three relays the way it looks now.
15. Jabu you know why gilbert is not running track?  looks like lee would have a state contending 1600 relay team with him in the fold
16. RIP Coach.
17. Man I hope Sedberry nails his interview and they take him from Baytown.
18. Wow, great pickups for Incarnate Word.
19. North Shore is one of the most poorly coached teams in the state year after year.  They can win as long as their talent is a 10 and yours is a 6.  As soon as theirs starts inching down to a 9 and yours a 7, they will run into problems.  When they meet up with someone with as much talent as them.....katy bar the door. They have built their reputation on having an overwhelming advantage in terms of raw athletes.  I have never once seen them exceed what their natural ability could do for them. They have, what...4,000 students?  And they recruit all of the best HISD students on that side of town along with Sheldon ISD and NF ISD.
20. Not going to be able to get there early.  I work Friday until 5:15 and that's in the Medical Center area.  Best I could do is 6:30 probably.
21. So is it for sure going to be in The Woodlands, Friday night? Do you think I should be concerned about it being sold out if I were to just show up at gametime looking for a ticket?
22. Katy has 130 yards to LC's -10 at the end of the first quarter.
23. The whole thread got out of hand if you ask me. A lot of unnecessary  jibber jabber.
