1.
The only game in town. Should be a full house.
hahaha good one.  a 20% full house would be surprising.
2. Thinking about not even going.  This is my Saturday to work, and it's tough having to drive all the way back from Baytown to Missouri City that late at night then getting up so early the next morning. Might just check in here for updates.
3. Independent of this score, Lee has some potential on the freshman team. I saw them against Sterling and that was without the Lee quarterback playing.  He hurt his ankle and was dressed, but he did not play for that one. The qb(#1) and the rb(#2) could both actually help out on varsity right now for the Ganders.  I think I would bring them up. I may want to amend my original prediction on this game.  The more I think about it, I really wish Lee would have scheduled at least one real opponent before this game. I wish this game would have come after the TC or Dawson game, so Lee could have had an idea of what a real team looks like first.  Problem is, they have to win this one pretty much.  Whichever team loses it will be in trouble.
4. This Lee freshman team has a little potential.
5. I think the team is just more refined in how they go about their business this year.  They seem more mature. It could be that they have played the dregs of the area though ;D We will see this weekend. They will still get rolled in all likelihood against Dawson and possibly TC.  I think they have a fighting chance against everyone else in the district.
6. I think a couple of basketball players showed up for the Lee football team for the first time this year maybe.  Not sure where a couple of these guys came from.  I did not get a chance to see the Lee freshman teams of the last two years, but they have a few sophomores and juniors that I have never heard of. Then they have Willie and Gilbert at safety, both college-level players.  Hidalgo and Montoya have been on varsity for the last three years at linebacker, Montoya as a 10th grader and Hidalgo since he was a 9th grader, so he never played freshman ball.  Gomez at receiver never played much freshman ball, as he was on varsity at that time and is now a junior. Leonce is smallish and just now getting to the point where he can use his speed and quickness. #21 is at one corner, and seems to be a junior.  He made an outstanding play on a ball last week for an interception.Kid named Washington at the other corner is a sophomore, and he is very polished looking for being so young. Kion Richardson at one outsider backer position is maybe not as athletic as Jaevon, but he is a very capable outside linebacker in a high school setting.  The other side, #31 seems to be new to the program as well.  I've never seen him at least.  Sarabia and Trent up front are both veterans of the program. Cedeno at running back has matured nicely and is a much better back than he was last year, maybe one of the best backs in the district.  He is a very solid, capable high school running back, which Lee has not had a lot of really lately.  Zellars is a D1 type recruit that has come on in the passing game and can typically just run around and make stuff up and is athletic enough to break tackles and outrun some defenses. Gomez and Job on the outside, both over 6' tall and fast.  Leonce on the inside is quick and shifty.  The line is doing well enough. I look forward to seeing the game this Friday. I am interested to see just how real this team is for Lee.  I have high hopes, but I am not too sure of it just yet.  GCM should be a good barometer.
7. That's what I have been asking. Maybe North Shore has finally widened their recruiting net enough to snag some Baytown kids? Lee has five or six pretty athletic kids on their freshman team, and they should have been up 28-0 on Sterling at half if not for the Sterling teachers also doubling as the officials and calling back three touchdowns.  Sterling somehow came back and beat them in the second half, but I left at half.  Lee has a pretty decent amount of talent on this freshman team.  Nothing like the Lee teams of ten years ago mind you, but they were a lot more athletic than the Sterling kids, plus the best player for Lee did not play in that game.  He seemingly had a messed up ankle.  You could tell he was their best player by looking at him during warmups.  He was their qb.
8. this lee senior group was vey stout as freshmen.  i saw them whoop west brook by 30. the underclassmen dont have a wealth of talent, but they do have a couple of selected guys that help out. im not sold on the 4-0 either. this team is a little more refined and workmanlike than last years. they may have slightly less raw talent, but they play up to their potential better. lets not forget that lee jumped on gcm last year and then let the patriots back in the game.
9. Lee has three or four good athletes on offense.  Zellars, Cedeno, Gomez and Leonce are all good. Zellars is the best athlete, but the other three are all capable. If Lee does not commit a lot of penalties or turn the ball over they should be able to put up 35+ on GCM.  That's a big "if" though. I doubt that Lee can stop GCM either though. I would guess 40-35 one way or the other.
10. That link has a related video of the Sterling-Laporte freshman A game..... not looking good for the Rangers.
11. Not sure what a Christian coach has to do with it. You need a coach that can lead and teach.
12. Pretty sure the coach is doing what he feels is best. You have to consider that if he was the second coming of Nick Saban, he wouldn't be coaching high school football in Baytown, TX. He is doing the best he can I am sure.
13. Man, this team that Ball is putting out there wouldn't beat a Ball JV team from the mid 90's. It's sad to see.
14. Don't I know it. My niece goes to Dawson.  Not going to want to talk high school football with her after they finish thrashing Lee.  Manvel proper really doesn't have any neighborhoods, so I guess they end up coming to the Lakes of Savannah or all the way up into Shadow Creek Ranch.  Maybe they even come on down my way and end up going to Hightower or Ridge Point..
15. That's what I suggested to my wife, but man, that is such a far place to randomly go. I am looking at the map now on Google, and I guess it makes a little bit of sense if they just go straight up HWY 6. Manvel is not too far up the road past Santa Fe.
16. Where did all of the Galveston County players go? LaMarque is in 3A and seems to be low on athletes.  Ball does not have a single good athlete on the entire team.  TC has a few, but their numbers seem low. I am just wondering who the beneficiary is of all this?
17. I actually think Gibson is a much better defensive player than offensive...but that still does not explain why he only played one play of defense.
18. Texas City had over 600 yards of offense according to the Chronicle. I know LaMarque shut them down earlier this year.
19. Will be the first real game for Lee is what concerns me most.
20. Thanks a lot. I was just starting to feel good about Lee, and you have to drop the Tate and Johnson bombshell on me  :'( Lee actually is not entirely bad this year.  Best team since the Jeremy Moses team that should have beaten NS in the playoffs. I bet Ball fans are missing the days of Lawrence Richardson and Marvin Jackson though.  Maybe even a John Humphrey might help them out. They are truly dreadful.  Sam Rayburn would take them behind the woodshed.
21. Yep gonna be hard to take anything from this game.  Ball is terrible.
22. Sterling needs to schedule ball. Tors have two first Downs I believe and probably negative yards. Playing some sort of rugby looking offense where they just take the snap and essentially turn it into a Scrum and try to push the pile forward. Occasionally they might pitch it but that tends to result in a fumble. Lee with a 27 yard td run by cedeno 38-0 5:50 3rd
23. Ganders go 65 on four runs. 31-0 10:05 3rd
24. Can't believe this big ol dude on the ball drill team dropped into that split like that impressive work
