Yeah you can tell that he adds a completely new dimension. Did Leonce play at all in the second half at receiver? The thing is not only does Zellars greatly upgrade the qb position, Leonce is going to greatly upgrade the slot receiver position. He is deadly in one on one situations. With Jobe and Gomez on the outside and Leonce on the inside, then you add in Cedeno at rb and Zellars at qb....Lee should be tough to handle as long as they limit mistakes and execute. Of course Rayburn is not very good either lol Lee just got manhandled at times up front. Rayburn had way too much size for them to deal with. I'm still very afraid of what Dawson and TC will do to Lee's defense. They won't be slow to the hole like these Rayburn guys were.

Did the cutoff for 5A used to be much lower or has WOS lost that many students? If so, why the exodus?

I saw two sacks in the first half. Were there six in the second half? I saw a lot of good stops in the backfield on running plays. -

Just watched the youtube clip of the Crosby-Nederland game. Pretty good defense by Nederland, but I was expecting the second coming of a late 90's LaMarque defense the way it has been talked up. It's not a suffocating defense by any means. GCM should have their chances. -

It is Dorian, but it was still similar enough to make me think of it. -

What? No "Picture of Darion Gray" jokes yet? I guess I am the only librarian here. -
I don't think a high school coach is going to just completely change his offense. If you hire this guy, you have to know that he is going to run the offense that he runs. If you hire Olin, you have to know he is going to throw the ball all over the place. I think a lot of it, for all of the Baytown teams, is they just don't take football that seriously. Sterling kids are still young though. All of those running backs and the qb are back next year right? Give them some time. Hard to do much when all of your key players are 10th graders.

Acosta is probably the best player on the offense as of now in relation to taking car of his responsibilities and doing his job. he had the backside linebacker draped on his back every time he would keep the ball. not much he could do. once lee tired out and put the second team in acosta had more time to get going after the fake and he did well. The problem is that sterlings offense takes an extreme amount of precision. every lineman back receiver and qb has to do the job every play or it could blow up. at clear lake they had much better linemen that gave oswald time to make the decisions and execute the offense. lees offense takes very little precision. just spread out and try to outrun and juke the defenders to the best of your ability. Acosta and the backs could lead a very potent offense, just need a little bit of blocking.

I watched the first half of the freshman game. Neither team had much, but lee was more talented. they scored three times in the first half, two called back on suspect penalties followed immediately by interceptions. What appeared to be lees best player, a qb, did not play after getting his ankle wrapped before the game. just by looking at him he was probably their best player. i left at the half. Sterling had so e nice size up front, but again just couldnt get anything going in the first half. they couldnt decide who to leave at qb either. they had a big fb that switched and played qb some. Again neither team had much but as a lee fan i cerainly would not want to switch freshman teams with sterling.
