  1. The Lee quarterback can't really pass the ball that well. He's not very fast either. He has a nice arm, but he can only throw it to a pre-determined spot on the field that they have worked on in practice all week. He can't actually make any reads or pick another receiver or anything along those lines. I think coach is slow on reversing his decisions sometimes. He'd be better off to just go with the freshman and let him make his mistakes and learn from them, because the freshman is immensely more naturally gifted.
  2. This reminds me of Olin's first year. Lee does have some talent this year(3 seniors going D1), just not enough of it.
  3. 45-0 now I will have to eat my words about the shut out. Man, Lee must have really just not showed up or WBV has greatly improved since WF put 70 on them.
  4. Let's you know how bad Sterling is. Lee just doesn't have a quarterback to run the offense they are trying to run. #17 is not a running threat at ALL. So, basically the offense boils down to handing off up the middle to #1 or #21 and then throwing an occasional hail mary to #14. I personally think they should just go with the freshman qb. At least he provides a running threat.
  5. Cmon wosgrad... Can't your internet go out for a minute or something. This is making my head hurt even thinking about how bad they are getting whomped. Wish I could have gotten out of work to see it.
  6. I didn't promise anything. I predicted a score, a far fetched one, that had a bit of tongue in cheek in it. Now, I didn't believe that Lee would get shut out. If they do, it will be quite surprising to me.
  7. Ouch... Man.... Just hope coach can hold it together til we get to 4A and all these sophomores and freshmen grow up.
  8. Cmon Ganders. Gotta represent Baytown better than this.
  9. All I'm saying is that a field with mud and rutted up isn't a homefield advantage any more. It's considered unplayable and should be moved. Don't matter two craps that PAM wants to keep their homefield advantage. Just like you can't pour concrete for a baseball infield then call it homefield advantage. It's a surface unsuitable for playing on at that point. If the field has level grass then we don't need to have this discussion.
  10. If it's in great shape then fine, if it's anything like Clear Creek field, then it's a shame. They should have thought about giving up homefield advantage when they didn't put enough time into making the field playable or playing too many games on it or whatever the cause was.
  11. What ever happened to that other board they used to have? FNE or something
  12. Do they just count up the attendance or something? Wouldn't it be better if they took 10-15 snapshots over the course of the year and averaged them out? This seems a bit inexact to pick one day. No wonder Highland Park always stays 4A. Just tell a certain number of kids not to show up today.
  13. I remember Clear Creek's stadium being like this all the time before they put in artifical turf. If it's anything like that, they need to move the game to somewhere that has an artificial surface, so that they can play a legitimate game. There's no need, in 2009, to be playing on a rutted up, muddy field.
  14. There was only one freshman game, so I missed the first half. It started at 5, but I was told it would start at 6 earlier in the week. Lee freshman won 34-8. West Brook has some good players. They have a couple of good linebackers, particularly #44 was a good athlete. I think the athletes on each team were pretty close, but Lee was just a bit faster and were little more well coached. When I got there at half, it was 20-8. Lee's quarterback #1 took the ball in for about a 35 yard touchdown run. West Brook got one down to about the 3, but they couldn't punch it in. They had the ball intercepted and ran back 100 yards for a td on 4th down by Lee's #8, who was the best athlete on the field. He played running back and safety. He nearly had two other interceptions in the half I saw. He is undersized, but an explosive athlete. Lee was also without their best freshman, a quarterback, who plays on varsity. If I had to guess, #1, #2, #6, #8, #14, #58 and #71 will be on varsity for Lee next year. Looks like a pretty good crop.
  15. I work Thursday night til 8:15, so I won't be able to make the game. I'll look here for updates. I am going to make the freshman A game in Baytown today though, so I'll try to provide a recap if possible.
  16. Lee has two good, fast running backs and a fast receiver. The Ganders also have two more guys that play some at receiver(mostly on defense) that would be considered fast. The Ganders offense was horribly inept last year, and they still somehow scored in double digits on WB. Unless there is a barrage of turnovers, I think Lee will put up some decent offense.
  17. Look guys....yall have a questionable extra point unit... we could probably get 2 off a blocked pat, so we'll get at least 2 Nah I was just replying to the guy that is looking for Lee to be shut out or only get 7. I don't see it happening. It's tough to shut down a high school opponent for that long. Too many possessions. Lee has too much speed. They are bound to break one eventually.
  18. Assuming good weather conditions, it would take a heap of turnovers for Lee not to score at least 20 points. They can just stumble and bumble and fumble around into 2 touchdowns at least. Throw a couple up deep to Richardson and hope for the best.
  19. Should be this way at high school stadiums too. I don't want to step on any toes, but true football fans know better than to bring them.
  20. I have to pick Lee of course...and no way can Lee hold West Brook to under 35. At least it would be a miracle.
