DAYTON BRONCO HIGHLIGHTS ONLINE!
gary-us-bonds replied to PURPLE 4EVER's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
whats the name of that song playing in the background while driving down the interstate and throughout the highlights -
Now why would you go and say that??? We won 4 district games this year with what would amount to a 3A roster with all the injuries. If Lee stays 5A, it would be because they are grandfathering in all the guys that were destined to move with the re-alignment, meaning we will have the same chance to compete next year as we did this year. Olin has quite a bit of pull. I don't think he would let them leave him with a short stack.

Once again, these guys are tough as nails. Gonna take one helluva team to beat them. I left at the half tonight, and they were up 21-0 on Livingston. Should have been 35-0 though. The refs blew a def pass interference call to stop one drive. AJ Dugat retruned an int for a td with 3 seconds left in the half, but it was called back on a personal foul on the return that had nothing at all to do with the return. Sitting here listening on 99.9, and Dayton is now up 35-0 in the third quarter with about 5 minutes to go in the quarter. They were all over Livingston's offense. The ONLY thing that worked was a little straight up the gut action on one drive for Livingston. If Waller(assuming they win) can use Eddie Brown right up the middle they might could make it close. I don't see it happening though. Dayton is an extremely well coached team.

MAVERICK Lumberton's most hated fan on the net says.....
gary-us-bonds replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I live about a block from Stallworth. I went by there on my way to the Dayton-TC game, and I couldn't believe how many fans there were on the home side. I'm guessing that Lumberton was on the home side of Stallworth? It actually made me want to stop and go in there and check that game out instead. -
Dayton rolls over Texas City

lol Yeah TC didn't make the plays alright. There were about 25 plays they didn't make that would have needed to be made that maybe could have allowed them to go in tied at the half. -

Dayton made a believer out of me tonight. I watched the first half, and they pounded on TC and made them like it. It was a huge mismatch. -
Pasadena Memorial 35 Baytown Lee 10 Final
gary-us-bonds replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Actually they stuffed a pretty good running attack last night for all but one carry. Snelson had one 90 yard run. He had a 50 yard run on a fake punt. Other than that he must have had 35 carries for 110 yards. Lee stopped the run quite effectively last ni8ght. It was the inability to move the ball on offense that killed us. Olin grabbed a kid because the kid threw his helmet down....cmon man Are you really going to make that a big deal? Coaches grab kids by the jersey in pretty much every game I've ever watched. -
No doubt in my mind the Bruins will stomp South Houston today. North Shore struggled with Kingwood which I would have never fathomed. Lee was able to hang with Pasadena Memorial for a half using basically their JV team. I just can't imagine that South Houston will be much different than an Atascocita looking at their scores against NS and Pasadena Memorial. Unfortunately I won't be able to be there to watch as I was called in to work today. I will keep up with the game on here though.

Pasadena Memorial 35 Baytown Lee 10 Final
gary-us-bonds replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Lee just didn't have enough juice in this one. We were up at the half 10-7. We had our chances. Just couldn't get it done. -
I was at that game with Memorial and WB last year at Stallworth. They did give WB a scare. Memorial is all about execution. They are not going to out-athlete anyone, although Snelson is a good enough athlete at running back. The teams that scare me are the ones that have really good athletes like PAM and West Brook. I like Lee's chances when I know that if a Lee receiver gets out there in the open field it's going to be tough for Pasadena Memorial to contain him. Memorial will, of course, scheme well enough that it probably won't occur too many times where Lee breaks out in the open field. Stil,, I like Lee's chances if we can catch a break or two. Either way, I will be there again Saturday pulling for the West Brook Bruins.

offensive lineman Michael Garcia should be back for the first time in a few weeks Josh Jones was hobbling around last week, but he played at receiver against Atascocita Octavio Torres was back playing at qb against Atascocita David Hare was back at inside linebacker Kevin Craft, wr, seems to have recovered fully from a twisted ankle. wr Michael Mahan is no longer on the team rb Jarvis Moore, rb CJ Mixon and de Zac Zellars are all out for the year with injuries. We moved Thomas Bates to corner from safety and he ended up with two picks returned for a combined 180 yards and 1 td. I still think it would serve us better to have Josh Jones at qb, but I don't think it's going to happen. Pasadena Memorial seems a little suspect in the pass defense. I think, as always, Lee has a puncher's chance against most anyone.
-
I don't think all of them, but a few could. Two are out with broken legs. One had surgery on his wrist and out for the year. One is out for the year with a messed up ankle. I think the offensive guard and the qb's could stand a chance to get back.
-
We have a JV guy playing qb. We have an inside receiver playing running back. We have a linebacker playing defensive end. We have a JV guy playing inside linebacker. We got a guy to come out for football this week from the soccer team to handle the kicking and punting. We have a converted offensive guard playing tight end. I've just never seen so many injuries on one team. The crazy part is, the playoffs are still just a win over Atascocita away. At this point, Atascocita has to be the favorite. It's like they are playing against Lee's JV team almost.

Talk about a season that has taken a turn for the worse... Lee loses to Channelview tonight 23-8. The game wasn't really as close as the score indicates. Channelview put it on Lee and made them like it. Lee has to beat Atascocita now. That's not going to be an easy task at this point. Lee is playing without their top receiver, their top 3 running backs, their top 2 quarterbacks, their top offensive guard, a starting defensive end, a starting inside linebacker and their kicker. We'll get it back together for next week though...I hope

Baytown Sterling At Memorial Predictions?
gary-us-bonds replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I hope we get some Sterling guys. We need them. Sterling, across the board, has better athletes than Lee on their football team right now. It's really not even close after the injuries that Lee has sustained, yet Lee would whoop them again if they played again. Lee got the worst end of the transfer deal this past off-season. Lee got Anthony Gray and a kid named Montgomery from Sterling, but we had 3 or 4 kids transfer to Sterling that are starting over there. -

I think PAM has a chance against West Brook. That offense is pretty tough to get a handle on. They have some good size at receiver, then some other guys that are quick. PAM is one of those teams that has all the talent in the world to win games. They just seem to screw it up eventually somehow or another. They run fake field goals that have no chance of working, they punt the ball from the 27, they fumble balls up 9 with 7 minutes in the game and have it taken back for a touchdown, etc. It's not the talent and speed and size that doesn't allow them to win. It's the execution. So, on the off chance they execute well against WB, then they have a fighting chance to beat the Bruins in my opinion. -

Scooter Don't give up on them yet. PAM has some good talent. They have the offense to give teams trouble. Had they continued running their offense throughout the game, they would have put up 40 points. They got away from what was working after the first quarter.
