2. Free throw shooting AGAIN the Achilles heel of HJ - UGH!!!
 3.
HJ JV and Varsity win... Tough road game....  Refs REALLY let things go....  It was consistent and called pretty even both ways though, so no gripes... but just a really physical game!  Good job Lady Hawks
Scores?
 4.

Was that the kid that was punched by the Silsbee player?
Yes. I still can't figure out the fact that it was seen by most of the fans, but not one ref saw it. A foul was called, but it should have been an intentional foul or an ejection, IMO, and many others watching the game felt the same...
If a player throws a punch, forget about a foul, it should be an immediate ejection followed by a multiple game suspension.
Great job, Rob & Rob!  Hope Devonte is ok.  Will be listening to y'all tomorrow night while nodding politely at a corporate Christmas party ;). Go Hawks!
Any word on Devonte?  He didn't make an appearance after being injured.

So therefore I would keep you comments to yourself, unless they have some validity to them.  Which they do not!!!!!!
No biggie Lazeek, it's like Nash said.......it's grasping at straws.

They have not missed the playoffs since dropping down to 3A ('04-'05), currently on a 7 year run. If you go back further in Silsbee's history as a 4A team, they went to the state tourney 3 other times (5 total now) and made the playoffs every year from '82-86. In the '70's where only the district champion advanced, Silsbee only missed the playoffs '77.
I think the last time Silsbee missed the playoffs was like 99/00. Silsbee hasn't had any D1 layers since I think Eddie Fobbs. Miller, Whitmore and Henry.... All three players average 22+ points a game that year.  You don't know silsbee history..
Does this surprise you?  BadSanta is full of the capitalized letters in his screen name that I just typed.  He only professes to be a Silsbee supporter because he thinks they have the best chance to get to Austin this year.

I know they been going to AP, but it might be time to change gears.
I am sure that the business manager of the H-J ISD would like that change.
Well how is this AN UPDATE THREAD?

 11.
I hope I'm not violating any rules, but I am answering a question from earlier. HJ could have played in a tournament that gave them more competition and they know it. But HJ's players go to this tournament to mesh not just on the court, but off. They were there for four nights and spent a lot of time together. If you can learn how to mesh off the court, the togetherness comes together much easier on the court. The players from HJ are all very close because of this tournament every year. And, with that being said, the teams i this tournament weren't totally terrible. Look at the score of the HJ-Nederland game compared to the HJ-Calhoun game. Nederland was in the YMBL tournament and went to the finals. HJ could have won either tournament, but in Aransas Pass, they get to spend more time together. Now, I could be wrong, but I think HJ made a great scheduling choice, and played very well in the tournament. Best of the Bay Champions 2011!!!!!!!!!!
Nice post sir!
 12.
bmrm who are you?
proud parent of a hawk senior, freshman & 2nd grader and thankfully all play basketball!!!
 13. Hj up 55-33 after three
 14. Make that 39-15 and now 6 for 6 on threes
 15.
Why do i care? I only state facts! U know it's weak bro! Where else is HJ playing besides a tourney they put together to blow everyone out? The BMT Kelly Tourney? The Bridge City Invitational?
You sure take an awfully vested interest into what HJ does & to whom they schedule.  You're not a supporter of the program so why should it be any concern of yours as to what they do?  You continue to be a fair weather friend of your Tigers & we'll just wait and see how the season plays out.  It's amazing how you can ordain HJ as the second coming but then turn around and criticize the schedule - there is a word for people like you - I'll let you figure it out.
 16. Please let me interject as a parent of an HJ senior, freshman & 2nd grader(unexpected - HA!), I really do not believe the reason for HJ's struggles in football are due to a lack of community involvement.  My two sons played football in junior high but didn't choose to participate in high school.  When I inquired as to why not they never once mentioned that is was because there was a lack of community involvement.  Personally I think it was because of their lack of physical size as well as the aggressiveness that is required to play football.  As a parent, trust me, these kids are not looking for the stands to be full with the entire community behind them they are looking to see mom, dad, brother, sister, grandparents watching them.  HJ has had a strong youth football program in place for a while now - someone needs to figure out why there has been such a drop off in participation between junior high & high school.
 17.
Weak Tourney! HJ should play better teams!
Why do you even care who HJ plays?
I was talking about Kelvin Smith from Nederland last year, not Kristian Smith from  Central.
Very familiar with both individuals.  My suggestion/inference was that although Kelvin Smith was very athletic, so is Kristian Smith and the athleticism did not impair Prudhommes performance
Yeah HJ forced Kristian Smith out of his game and it showed and HJ was able to pull out the victory.

 22.
Big Ford, we have a big time player  too. H-J put him in great positions to cause damage...  Our coach wouldn't get up and call a single play.  He rather sit there and look cool.  Not once did he try to argue a call or call a timeout to adjust to H-J's trapping defense.  Just like I've stated before, our overall team talent will be enough for most of the games this year.  We'll probably win didtrict on talent alone.  But at some point, we will need our prime time players to step up.  Tonight, Prudhomme came through in a major way all over the court.  Not saying that Smith from Central didn't, because I know he had a big game and got a few dunks (since some people seem to think this is a new kind of stat even though a dunk, in my book is still 2 points), but we needed him in that run we had in the third period.  We need plays to get him open.  I'll take that loss on the chin to H-J.  They are a good team and they will give their district and most in the state fits.
Is that the typical Central's coaches demeanor?  I know our coaches actions tend to be a little more theatrical.
