At least that is the way I understood it. I could be wrong, I have been once or twice before. ;D ;D ;D
Do you know what sites each team will put up? I expect HJ to put up the gym at Nome. ;) ;D
The Nome Dome would be a great venue for this game!!!! ;D ;D
That's hilarious!!! Could you imagine???

They lost to HJ their last year and HJ is 2-0 in the playoffs at Lee College this year!!! Hoping either EC or maybe BH!!!!
didn't they play in kountze one year.. Was that a playoff game?
Yes & that game almost sent me to the ER!!!

They also just lost their #1 seed, as well as a shot to play tourney games in San Antonio in the leadup to the final four in Houston.
whoa there buddy. still #1 seed in the big 12 tourney. they win out and win the conference tourney they will be a #1 seed, they just wont be the OVERALL #1 seed.
They aren't still the #1 seed for the tourney as of now - they would need to beat Kansas again. After losing to Nebraska & Colorado in successive weekends it doesn't look like Kansas has anything to worry about. Looks like Texas chose to succumb to the pressure a little later than last year.
they will beat KU again ;)
I hope so but don't share your enthusiasm.
Seems most people are picking Cleveland in the pick'em thread.
As they should Bobcat05 - I'm just hoping that they are incorrect.
Wow, what a game. We jumped up on 'em early, then Joe Persohn went out with a broken finger (no foul called) and we went kind of flat. Joe missed most of the 2nd Q, got back just in time to get an and-one putback where he got his face opened up-- except, again, no foul was called-- that put us up by one point at the half. Co-MVP of the game goes to Coach Klinger, who kept patching Joe up! Without Joe, I was worried that 6'8" Stafford kid would eat us alive on the boards. Thanks for being so tough, Joe. That's True Blue right there. [Joe, leave those steri-strips in place until after the Cleveland game. You might wanna just prophylactically wear bandaids over both eyes until after Austin...] MVP Player: Prudhomme. Shawn put on a dunk-fest much, much better than the NBA did last week. Seriously. Hit his free throws, too. Gus ran the show flawlessly. Gus was clearly fouled on his final driving layup during regulation-- but, once again, no call. Grayson and Bosha hit some important shots. Everyone hustled enough to beat Stafford and the refs. Great job, Hawks!
How is Persohn's broken finger going to affect his play against Cleveland?
guys, guys, guys! we need to get back onto the subject of how bad Cleveland is going to beat HJ!
Perhaps, but as previously stated on another thread, if this game is anything like the one played a couple of years ago in Kountze, I will need a defribrulator!!!

Cleveland vs. Smithville Game Thread/Cleveland wins big!
bmrm replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Cleveland is & should justifiably be the favorite. On paper it shouldn't be close, but I'm gonna play the history card here & say that HJ keeps it close. Who wins? Head says Cleveland but heart says HJ - Go Hawks!!! -
Since Silsbee is home Badsanta will all out support HJ. Hawks please beat the Heck out of Cleveland and put 21-3A back in state! Good luck Hawks.
I will be happy with squeaking out a win vs. Cleveland - I'm thinking the odds may be catching up with us.

I lived in Missouri City from 77 - 85 and went to Dulles in Sugar Land. At the time, Willowridge was a football power with Thurman Thomas. If you remember them being a basketball power, then you are probably much younger than me (maybe the TJ Ford era?). Just curious
Pumper - I actually lived in Missouri City & was there from 1st-4th grades('74-'78 I think) & maybe I confused Willowridge with Dulles. I wanna say Willowridge was the big dog in football around there @ that time. I didn't really follow high school basketball then - just college & the NBA.
Ahhhhh, 1st through 4th grade....... Best 6 years of my life! HA!!! I love it!!!

HJ has one thing on their mind.......STAFFORD and nothing else!!!!
I don't doubt that at all. I have total faith that HJ's coaches have the players focused on nothing but Stafford. Just curious what talent Stafford has.
