1.
I think HJ will be in the hunt againt this upcoming season. But the gap is closing in on HJ. By 2011-2012 season, the district will see some new changes. Enjoy your last season for awhile.
Dove, at least for the next two seasons I don't see HF moving into HJ's territory.  As long as we keep our core group in tact, we should be able to battle for district championships with Silsbee with HF on the outside looking in.
 2.
Bosha is solid and has been starting from what I hear....................another Freshman plays and wil make a great PG starting next season I would assume for HJ.  His last name is Mitchell.......and BTW he is Ryan Donahoe little brother!!!!! 8) 8) 8)
Is Coach Sutherland really considering taking Gustafson off the point?  My son plays with Bosha & Mitchell and as good as they are, I would think you would go with the experience that Gustafson brings.  Then again I'm just a dad of basketball players and don't possess a whole lot of basketball knowledge - although my Little Dribbler teams won the league title two years ago against Bosha's team and took second to them this past year.
 3.
You will begin to see a slight downward spiral for the HJ Hawkettes. Time For Change!
Sorry Dove, not this year.  It's gonna be HJ & Silsbee again battling for district honors.  Just cross your fingers that one of them(HJ) wins the region and goes to Austin!!!
 4.

I've watched Cleveland play in summer league. Very talented group across the board.  Not alot of defense, but could be its just summer league.  They have size, are quick, great outside shooting.
Yes, basically the same team that HJ had NO CHANCE against in last years playoffs.
And the year before as well!!!
 5.

Like I said that is JMO from what I have seen this summer. Silsbee looks to be a one man team, but they might have players not playing in the summer games. And I also know that summe games or just that summer games but you can see if they have talented players, and sorry I have just seen one in Sislbee , he is real good but it is hard to be a one man team at the 3a level. But no were have I said that Silsbee would be week I said that there will be good games between all three teams. And Aggie you never heard me say that he would not see the floor ;)  But Kelly I am basing my pick on seeing Sislbee play but looks like maybe not all of their players. That is what I love about this site If you make a pick that is not what Aggie thinks is right you get attacked or they deleate you acount ;D Just hope that one of these days he makes that attack face to face :o
Nobody has attacked. ::) I never said that you said he wouldn't see the floor. Actually, that talk came from HJ people. ;) Folks tell you that you are clueless because of the statements that you make are not accurate. Example, you say that Silsbee and WOS are close but you obviously don't know each team well enough. I stated that Silsbee has had the upper hand over the last several years over WOS which is far from being close. Also you stated that WOS had several top players that were juniors yet the 4 players that made all district and 88% of the team scoring last year were from seniors. Then you say that HJ's JV would beat most of 21-3A's varsity teams. That's ridiculous! Comments like these make you look very foolish. Like I said, before making these "opinions", do a little more research next time. ;)
If memory serves, when HJ played @ WOS last year it was senior night for the Mustangs.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but out of all the kids in uniform for WOS that night, there were only two or three that were not introduced as seniors.  I would think WOS would be a little weaker this year with the majority of their talent graduating last year.
You are not wrong, bmrm. WOS lost a lot to graduation. True Clueless obviously lacks knowledge.
Me not wrong - this has to be a first - just ask my wife!!!  HA!!!
 6.

trueblue why is Blaine not playing summer league? Did he do any serious damage to his knee a couple of weeks back?
No he did not hurt it that bad I think it scared him more than anything. He is at camps the next 3 weeks, SFA, Texasprep, and Im not sure were in week3 .But he should be there tomorrow night in Kountze. And the real reason I have picked WOS so high I might know who their next coach is going to be. Cant say for sure but if the rummer is true they will be better than some people ( Aggie) thinks.
I feel regardless of who their next new coach is, with all the seniors they lost, it's not going to matter.  They might third get place in the district and earn a playoff spot, but I don't see them giving Silsbee & HJ much trouble.
 7.
Todd's camp is this week and I know he has at least one more in July.  I don't know he date but I will find out.
Yeah I'm looking for the dates of the second Westgate camp he's having in July.

 9.
Thanks so much for the kind words!!  I am so glad they enjoyed it!!  It never ceases to amaze me at the turn out we have!  We had 87 campers.  I believe this was the second largest since I have been directing it over the past 12 years. My goal next year is 100!  GO HAWKS!!!
Coach K, do you know the dates of the Westgate basketball camp that Coach Sutherland puts on?  My kids lost the flyer that yall sent home with them from the HJ camp.
 10. Just wanted to send a big thanks to Coach Sims, Coach Sutherland, both Coach Davis's, Coach Fogo and everyone that helped put this camp together.  Two of my three kids attended & just had a ball as usual.  This was probably our sixth or seventh year in a row to attend & it just keeps getting better.
 11. The Celts sure got a lot of calls in their favor in the second quarter of tonight's game.

 13. Could the officiating favor Duke anymore?
 14.
I predict fewer fouls than last game! Can't wait to see these two teams put on a show!
Hopefully the officials aren't a factor tonight.
 15. I know HJ jv has one loss & that was to OF.  They beat OF the next time they played & beat Silsbee the first time they played.  So I would say that HJ is at least tied for first.
 16.
Any Thoughts
WOS by 8.
 17.
Hey Bobcat heard through the grapevine that HJ vs Bryan Rudder will be played at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville Friday night at 8PM. That is coming from one of the HJ parents.
That's whats on the sign in the front of the school.
 18. Are Gustafson & Ricossa gonna be 100% healthy tonight?
 19. I heard that if HJ beats Lumberton tonight, it will be win number 500 for Coach Sutherland.  Can anyone confirm?
 20. I read where Gustafson's free throw percentage was excellent, but what was the rest of the Hawks percentage?
 21. Are we talking head to head?
 22.

are u seriou kid...kountze has to many weapons for hj..bray will be unstoppable in the inside and roman will create matchup problems...thehawks press will be less effective this year..they lack the speed of last year.. #21 hj be ready to ballhogg..u are all they got
looks like you dont know everything! hmm.........overconfidence i sense in you........
Cut him some slack Michael, he knows not what he talks about.  Give me some positive smite!  Ha!!!
 23.
kountze will beat any team in the southeast area...only team who gives them a game is pa memorial titans
Will beat or can beat?  Obviously will beat was not the case tonight.
 24.
HJ wins 76-73
Very nice win for the Hawks.  Good way to start the season.
 25.
High Island JH defeated Sabine Pass JH 30-8 Tuesday Nov. 3. Congrats Cards
WHOILER, were you @ the game tonight against HJ 7th grade B team?  We(HJ) were told were playing against a combined team of 7th & 8th graders but man it certainly was a mismatch.  Our starting QB goes down on the first play of our first possession, comes back a play later but gets knocked out of the game midway through the 2nd quarter.  Our starting fullback gets knocked out later in the 2nd quarter & has to have the Liberty County EMS called out to check on him, then towards the end of the 3rd, our backup QB is motionless on the field for quite a while & has to be taken off on a backboard & stretcher.  The final was 44-0 with West Hardin just running the clock out in the 4th.  If those truly were a combination of 7th & 8th graders please let me know what yall feed those boys.  They were head & shoulders physically superior to our guys.
