[/quote] Don't put it all on HJ's shoulders, this was a mutual decision by both schools.  It is unfortunate that the mere THREAT of rain forced a cancellation, but I assume the tornado watch had something to do with it.  Turns out the HJ 7th grade B team had their season come to an end last week as this game was canceled and Silsbee only has one 7th grade team.  I guess it's on to the hardwood! [/quote] Perhaps - we were told it was going to be a discussion between the AD's & there would be a mutual decision made.  I know I'm glad we(HJ) didn't play, Pine Island Bayou is about to spill out of it's banks with all the rain we received today - NOT!!!  Unfortunately, the coaches bought what the weather guys were selling & now we've missed out on an opportunity for these young men to play football.  They practice early in the morning & late in the afternoon & for what?  I hate to hear what doom & gloom is predicted for Friday night football.

The reason the 7th grade B team lasted longer than expected is because they were not running the play clock. In junior high games they don't need a running game clock but they do need to utilize the 25 second play clock. When HJ played in K-Ville two weeks ago, the play clock was used and there weren't any unnecessary delays. Also, the BC scrimmage ran over a bit so the B team game was delayed by about 20 minutes or so.

Obviously you are missing the point. Sorry for ruffling the feathers. No, I am missing nothing. In the past you have never tried to limit others opinion or threatened to dictate how a certain thread is going to play out. I just found it odd that you would worry so much about how HJ followers decided to defend their program. Like I said, we have a huge following when it comes to basketball & we take it passionately. Does Silsbee 7th have an A&B team? That will e great if they do because WOS does too and would be good if they can have those games. No, Silsbee does not have a 7th grade B team. Unfortunately it looks like HJ's white team will have their season end a week early.

Sorry AAW, you're being hypocritical when saying HJ followers are not allowed to defend themselves & not letting this discussion turn into an "HJ dominated forum." It is not our fault that we have a more devout following than most anyone else around here when it comes to high school basketball. It is not a sin when our team lives up to it's potential & others don't.
