Our station has a tower cam on the talllest building in the back of the skyline, and here's another worthless fact: That tallest building, the Bank of Oklahoma (BOK) Tower, is the the tallest building in Oklahoma. It was built by the same designers who did the World Trade Center. It's similar in appearance, but only have the size at 53 stories tall. -

How Many Teams Do You Feel Should Make Playoffs?
Tulsa replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
If anyone cares, Oklahoma's HS districts have 8 teams each, with the top 4 making the playoffs. -
Thanks Coop...BTW it's thundering at my house right now, shouldn't you be doing a cut-in or something? Do you anticipate any schools adding turf?

Your experience following HS football out of SE Texas
Tulsa replied to Tulsa's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Let me add that the SCHOOLS show their pride, but the town's are indifferent-- you don't see "GO TIGERS!" and such signage around town. Perhaps such as the 6A state champ in Oklahoma is almost always a big city suburb school as Coaches Perspective pointed out. Jenks is the only big school I've seen that compares to Texas football in terms of community support. Also, due to the smaller population of Oklahoma, the playoffs don't take long. There are only 32 schools in each class, half of which make the playoffs-- win 2 games and you're already in the semis! State champs by Thanksgiving! -
For those of you who have lived out of Texas-- what is your experience following HS football in other states? My wife and I live in Oklahoma after growing up in Texas high schools: WOS for me, and my wife is from Abilene High in West Texas. Oklahoma HS football is comparable to Texas as far as school pride, game attendance and atmosphere . A few schools have facilties that embarass smaller colleges, but the playoffs here just don't cut it...they lack the excitement of Texas football. What's it like in other states?

I see Liberty scored 60+ the last game....What does Liberty do well to put up the points?

Lonestar, I have to work Saturday (insert obscenity of choice) I had to sell my tickets for OU/aTm, so I'll be screaming at the TV from Tulsa. My mother is going to the game, and she said CS is packed tonight! Tulsa
