Hull-Daisetta will be very tough the next 4 or 5 years. This was the rebuilding year for the Bobcats. We will return probably 7 on offense and 8 on defense. The JV didn't lose a game until several freshmen were moved up to varsity and the 8th grade team was undefeated with unreal talent including the best quartback prospect we've had in a dozen years. Bobcats are a good lock for playoffs for 4 years and in 2 or 3 years look for a deep playoff run.

Congrats to the Bobcats on a good season through a lot of adversity. I was very proud to be a Bobcat seeing that yall continued to play hard for 48mins even when u were down. Great experience for the underclassman, and for the seniors just know that u lost to a state championship calibur team. PS: TRAM, their stud running back DID play. It was a kick returner who was also one of the starting WR's in their spread offense. There JV took the field in the 4th qtr, and by that point HD was letting a bunch of our JV kids get experience in the game as well.

One of the craziest plays I've ever seen. HD gets an interception on the last play of the half, but pass interference is called. Lovelady gets one untimed play and heaves one up. A Bobcat goes up for ant INT around the 10yd line and it bounces off his hands, off another Bobcat, and into the hands of the only Lion around the ball. He takes off and is tripped at the 2yd line and falls across the goaline for a 62yd TD reception. Kinda how the whole night has gone for HD, shooting themselves in the foot against a really really good team. Jordy Denson of Lovelady has 4 passing TD's. Lovelady - 35 Hull-Daisetta - 0 Halftime

Lovelady drives and scores on 1st possesion. HD drives 60yds to LL 28 and fumbles on 4th and 4. Lovelady scores on wide open pass play with 3:10 left in 1st. LL recovers insuing onside kick. Lovelady scores 7 plays later on 21yd slant pass. HD - 0 LL - 21 1:29 left in 1st qtr.

Hey tram, I haven't seen Mart play this season so its probably not an accurate statement. I was just basing it off the kids they lost from last year and their record and outcomes from this season. I know better than anyone that Mart doesn't rebuild, they just reload lol. How do u compare last season's team to this one?

highsky, i bet those pictures are really cool, and i'd love to run across some great stuff like that one day. I thought the coolest thing in the whole article is when he talked about being in first grade and all the boys dreamed about was one day being on that football field and becoming a legendary Bobcat. I can still to this day remember those same feelings and just wanting to grow up and get out there on friday nights and be a hero. I also remember learning that it was not alright to lose to Hardin or West Hardin under any circumstances lol. Man, we gotta get that back in our kids today and I think Coach Slack is doing a good job with that. ;D

After we put together another long drive, on 3rd and 12 they completed a long pass down to the one and punched it in. We turned the ball over on downs just before halftime, and they scored on a fake field goal with :13 seconds left til halftime. The second half, just like the first quarter was a stalemate. In the end, they made enough plays and capitilized on HD's mistakes to win the game, and took that momentum on to a state championship game appearance. I personally don't think this year's Mart team is as good as last season, and that Evadale can beat them, if they play mistake free football. Good luck Rebels and as other's have said, make district 23-A proud. Whether we want to admit it or not, most of the folks down in Hull-Daisetta are pulling for you guys!! P.S. I'm glad you were there for that, I know I got lost in the moment and takes us all back to when we were strapping on the helmets.  It was a special time as it always is when playoff time comes to our tiny towns. Rebels, just know a couple things. You're family, friends, and entire communitity are behind you and will support you no matter what, time flies and you will never get to experience this same feeling again, so enjoy it, and no matter what, play your a$$ off every single play and don't leave anything left in the tank.
