Yeah are most taking whey protein and creatine? Again I couldnt really find any detail on the UIL site about creatine being legal or illegal. I am pretty sure it is banned in the NCAA but not sure about UIL.

What is the standard that most teens are taking these days? And what is banned by the UIL? I am unsure of creatine, is it legal? Just curious what others are taking if anything.

Impressive list. Whats amazing is that as good as Denny is, he has to play another postition on the angels team. That Travis Jones kid is a beast! -

Is this game at BH 2 years in a row? those highlights posted below are at BH and say 2011? -
Hence why the option may have worked at Lake and not at RSS. RSS has zero size on the line, they dont thave to be the biggest but you atleast got to be able to move your man. quote author=GCMPats link=topic=103154.msg1270702#msg1270702 date=1347665964] Lake is HUGE. Not the most athletic looking bunch, but the o-line is flat out big. Yikes!
Laporte obviously over looked them last year, I'm sure their kids sleep walked thru that game and took them lightly. Kind of like the Texans did today before Miami had a meltdown. That game is by far the only outlier from this coaches tenure. This coach has not only lost the players he has lost the community as well. Gccisd this is not acceptable.

Fort Bend Elkins at Dayton Game Thread/Dayton win 17-6!
Bud Kilmer replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Not shocking to me that those sophs are doing well, that was a great group of kids. -
I have to ask myself why did GCCSID hire him? Was he one of the only ones that applied? I certaily do not see what they saw in his record at CL. He had one good year with the perfect option QB but the personnel in Baytown vs CL is night and day. I just with the guy would swallow his ego and admit these kids do not fit this system. This isnt college, we cant recruit a big OL to move around the DL like they want to. Lee was busting right up the middle almost every play before the QB could even fake the handoff. Why? Maybe because there is zero threat of a play action pass and RSS goes on the snap count every play.

There in lies the problem. Acosta may be the best option qb available but taking a look at your talent and then deciding what offense to run would lead most reasonable coaches to adjust. This guy is determined to prove he is right no matter what, heck even his OC from last year left because he was so inflexible. When has RSS ever had any size on the line? Not in the past 20 years. I agree Acosta couldn't do anything most of the first half because he has no line but I'm not sure why that's shocking. Pats I understand Jr high success isn't a direct translation but those kids ran over north shore , barbers hill and dayton . Cbj gave north shore its first loss in years with #20 and #7 running on them. They also made a good run at Dayton, the same group now starting there as sophs that just beat 5a elkins. Athletic wise those kids and RSS kids were very equal, its just funny to me that they are continuing to win while suddenly RSS can't win a game. To me it boils down to one set of coaches optimizes his talent while another is so hard headed to prove he is right with his system. And speaking of heart, no one on that RSS team has more heart and will to win then #20 and its not even close.

The QB is too small and can not throw very well and with virtually no time from the offensive line he has no shot to set up his feet and throw. Seemed like Sterling ran up the middle about 75% of the time with only 1-2 having some success. The outside runs worked much better but it may have been that Lee was just so thin by then it started having some success. #11 Hill, #7 Vigier, #20 Cheniere were the three best backs in GCCISD in their 7th and 8th grade years. They were unstoppable. With those three running, and they are all sophs, you should be able to move the ball. To be honest, running the spread with one of them in the backfield and the other 2 split out trying to get one on one matchups would be so much more successful. The skill talent is there, it is just in the wrong system. Look at what Lee did moving the ball, it was mostly the QB just running around with the field spread out. For RSS, with 10 guys in the box it takes a miracle to break out of the pile. I dont get it, RSS has to show a threat to pass to be successful. BH runs the same offense but it looks so much different because they have someone that can throw it or maybe a coach that is willing to throw it. Seems like RSS wins most of the undersquad games so I dont think that is any indicator of anything. Last year the freshman won like 48-0 on the A team and also big on the B team. Sterlings best talent pool to do anything is this years sophs mixed with this years jrs. If it doesnt happen then it isnt going to happen.
Sterling will be lucky to win a game this year. Maybe clear lake was left in such bad shape that sterling has a chance. QB is too short to see the field and cannot throw if he could. With no threat whatsoever to throw, teams will leave a single safety to cover the one receiver and put everyone else in all out run support. Freshman and JV won so maybe they have something coming up?
Nice call by the Sterling coach to "ICE" the kicker with 30 secons left on a 47 yard field goal. The kid missed it by 10 yards. Sterling was also not smart enough to put a returner in the end zone to try to run it back. Instead timeout was called and lee ran a reverse instead of kicking the next play for a 1st down that set up game winning field goal. Sterling is in big big trouble. Lee had a 2nd string QB who can barely throw and he shreaded them for most of the night. If not for injuries, cramps and lee players leaving the game this would have been over at halftime. Unfortunately for Sterling, the rest of the district has bigger and stronger bodies and will not wear down like Lee. If RSS does not beat first year program clear falls or 0-10 last year clear lake, I think they will go 0-10 again.

Subvarsity Football: Post results here!
Bud Kilmer replied to WOSgrad's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Are you going to the game tomorrow? All of the skill players from cbj and gentrys good 8a teams from two years ago are in varsity for RSS. Looking forward to seeing how they look with these kids because if they can't get it done then it may never happen in bay town again.
I saw the first half of the Lee-Sterling freshman game at Sterling. Man I was really hoping someone would tell me that was the B team is all I can say. I know it wasn't though, because Lee actually had one guy on the team that will probably get moved up to varsity. He(#2) is a really good rb/db type. I can't imagine that they have too many guys more electric than him on varsity. Lee had maybe 5 or 6 guys that looked like they belonged on an A team. They only had maybe 28 total. Sterling had a couple of big guys up front, but they were very, very shaky running the option. What appeared to be Lee's #1 qb did not play. They wrapped his ankle, and he did not play at all. Just looking at him, he was probably the second best guy on the team behind #2. The quarterback that did play was adequate enough. They had another running back(#33) that got hurt who was also pretty decent though undersized. They had a third running back(#4) that was really fast and big and surprising that he was not on the first team offense in some form or fashion. Lee was up 6-0 at the half when I left. Should have been 18-0 at least if the Sterling science teachers/freshman officials had not taken away two touchdowns on holding calls that were immediately followed by interceptions. Sterling fumbled and bumbled all over the place, got maybe a first down or two in the half. Neither Lee nor Sterling has much coming up the pipeline it appears. Where the heck are all of the guys in Baytown that know how to play football. Lee, Sterling and GCM are all very thin in terms of roster and not very big across the board.
-

Two years ago in 8th grade I thought the McBride qb kid looked like Vince young running around....I never saw him take a direct hit and I thought he passed the ball well. I look for that kid to be a stud the next 3 years. How big is he now? -
I think with the coaching change at A&M he is no longer a commit. He was a total waste at RSS with the 3 throws a game offense.

Agreed 100% and the results are impressive. 17u placed 3rd out of 250 teams at the perfect game world wooden bat championship. You have kids signed with Texas, Arkansas, Tech, and TCU that I can think of off the top of my head that played on that team. The 15u placed 8th out of 150 teams at the same perfect game tournament held in Georgia. There is only one Beaumont area kid on the teams that I know and he is a Kelly kid who can really play.
