Joaquin has always been tough one for Shelbyville.

I stormed the field when the dogs won in 84. Lived in Ned for my middle school years. Not sure if that win will be topped in MCM, but this one feels pretty big too.

Hollow 3-peat in my opinion. Sure players around se texas move around to play for a good program, but what they do at faith family is put an all-star aau squad against teams who can’t draw from a player base like they have. glad i got to see silsbee again, especially harris and the other seniors. Congrats on a great season tigers.

Wow Lancaster is good. That was a suffocating defense. And Faith Family beat them, so I am excited to see them.

Jasper’s offense is a lot like Silsbee’s. Fast and athletic. One difference is Jasper has bit more size on the lines. been a while since I have seen a team dominated the way silsbee was. That was shell shock that they just never recovered from. If jasper can trade scores early it should be a good game. i watched png vs LH last year. Slot T can be stopped if you can make them grind it out and make some mistakes. some say it is boring, but I love to see a team do their thing well. That is what sports is all about. Walkoviak told me once he would have won multiple championship at jasper had he ran the wishbone at jasper instead of the veer. Interesting thought…

It was no knock against Franklin. Squeezing by Woodville and beating Diboll by 2 TDs is not in the same realm as what Bellville did to Silsbee in my opinion based on what I believe I know about football in SE Texas. And for what it is worth, I hope Bellville is not better than Franklin because that would give Jasper a shot at an upset. If Bellville is markedly better than Franklin then Jasper is in for a long night I am afraid.

Makes more sense for Cleveland and New Caney to be in the Humble district to me. This 6A region over here can be shifted in so many different possibilities that it is just a huge guess on what it will look like. The 5A realignment looks pretty realistic. Except Lufkin sure sticks out like a sore thumb these days. No one for a couple counties for them to play in district anymore it seems. I bet they stick them in the same group they are in with those mesquite schools and tyler. Then Crosby can slip over into the district with BH.

Yeah. Only common opponent was Yoe and both teams soundly beat. I guess the only way to settle it is to start scheduling each other.

Looking at level of competition and results I wouldn’t be ashamed of saying I think Bellville is better than Franklin this year. But we shall never know. Franklin 33-30 woodville Franklin 28-13 diboll Franklin 29-14 jasper Bellville 61-7 silsbee I think most in our area would be picking Bellville in a head to head with Franklin But nonetheless, good luck trying to get your revenge against Lorena this week

No doubt the dogs are a big underdog but bellville is not 60 points better than silsbee or jasper. That game snowballed in a big way on the tigers. Same could happen this week, but that’s why they play the games. Not sure how much better bellville is than franklin, but that game film will be watched over and over this week by both teams. No one gave Jasper much a chance against LH running this same offense and they had a 2000 yard rusher and 2-1000 yard rushers with a 4th close to 1k yards. Frankly, we didn’t stop them either except on the goal line to win the game I think the difference here is bellville can play defense. The year we beat LH they couldn’t touch Jasper’s speed at all. Go dogs.

Game ends with 3 consecutive ty smith sacks. Cuero’s qbs will not soon forget that defensive show.

I think that cost us a state finals appearance that year. We were rolling.

Amazed at how well the d-line has played without 99. Cuero is super talented and has the program factor as well. Will be a stiff test for Jasper.

R&b, piggly wiggly, obannon’s, sunshine grocery..all those north side stores bring back memories. as far as this game, it reminds me of the Jasper vs Liberty Hill game back in the day. LH had 3 or maybe even 4 1000 yard rushers. And true to form they ran 6-8 yards per run all night long. Jasper scored three td before a player from LH touched a bulldog with the ball. the game was high scoring and ended with a goal line stop for jasper to advance to the state championship. this game lines up to be very exciting with big time players making big time plays. Neither team will dominate. A couple big plays will be the difference.

That is a shame. He was really getting better and better. Such a disruptive force on the line. Hope he heals up and gets a good offer.

Downfall? It was the literally the only way we were in a position to win. If we were done in, it wasn’t because smith was chosen to run one more time. It was because Silsbee showed grit and finally made a play to stop him and not have him mowing through several defenders for chunks of yards at a time. hats of to coach c. on saving a weapon all season. 4 clearly showed why he is a prized recruit.

Losing 99 was a huge blow. He is disruptive as I have seen for Jasper since Red Bryant. i understand the strategy with 4, but Jasper has got to be able to get the ball to that TE. He is such a weapon. The wrs and dang talented too, but obviously that is a tough defense to throw on. silsbee allowed jasper to stay in the game with all those turnovers. And the call to go for 2 was a no-brainer. Great play to end it by whoever that was on the edge. Had 3 big blockers over there and he came through untouched somehow.
