Jasper gets another shot to take down a previous state champ. This one should be a tough one.

I bet that dancing cherokee is going to ice his feet after that game. Band will need lip balm all around.

Atlanta got a couple early breaks to make it interesting but Jasper had way too many weapons and the defense stepped it up. Atlanta has a quality program. A really nice first round match-up compared to so many around the area.

And I was going to this game........man what a show I missed.

Jasper battling back from early mistakes. Sounds like the Dogs are pretty beat up injury-wise.

Madisonville has jumped up out of nowhere this year. The last 2 or 3 years they looked far from what I have seen from them in the past. This year is more like what they should be doing on a yearly basis. These guys are good. I personally think they will beat HJ very handily, but I know HJ is well-coached and will have a game plan drawn up that gives them a chance at pulling off the upset.

Brookshire is just excited to be playing another week. This will be a very lopsided game.

These two teams have a similar tradition of speed and tough teams. This should be an excellent first round match up.

Left at halftime. WO-S schemed Liberty's offense to perfection. I have heard of 10 men in a box..this was 11 men within 3 yards of the ball..no where to run, no where to hide. Nose guard was a submarine and the ends were jack knifing on the edge. Very impressive defensive game for WO-S. The WO-S offense doesn't have near the same feel as last year's team, but still plenty of weapons and they run downhill really quickly. Good job Stangs.

Looks like it was more of an bad offensive night for WOS than anything else.

I watched the line that time through. They did a great job blocking the second level. He didn't have to go searching for many holes. He looks a little small, wonder where he is being recruited?

Wow. Watched his highlights. Great field vision, tough to tackle, and hits the hole at full speed. Easy to see why he puts up huge numbers.

They use all 4 grades so each grade level is accounted for at least twice during enrollment. It is not uncommon for smaller district to have a "bubble" year where enrollment is significantly higher in that one grade level. If you did not count seniors and that group was only counted in the 10th grade for the first time then that big enrollment would only affect that district in one enrollment. Either a class gets counted in the 9th and 11th grade year or it gets counted in the 10th and 12th grade year. Every class gets counted twice under the current system.

I have seen a lot worse taunting for sure, but still not the kind of sportsmanship I like to see.

If 5 is ok then probably coaches just hash it out; otherwise, who knows. Young men just have to be taught better than to taunt and sucker hit someone. No place for that in sports.

thanks. #5 has had a tough road last couple weeks. made some big plays and big mistakes. He is exciting to watch.

Dang, what was the score at that point? Is #5 okay? Hopefully just concussion protocol an he is okay.

No idea, but I know if cooler heads don't prevail this series won't be around for the long. Neither coach is going to put his players in a position for crap like that to happen. There has always been mutual respect from Jasper and Silsbee, WO-S, Newton or whoever..about the only team I know that we had major issues with was way back in the day and was with Kirbyville. But that was a couple generations ago and water under the bridge now.
