Liberty 67 Coldspring-Oakhurst 56/Final
Hupernikomen replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Not if they saw Liberty play last year. They were the best team in the district last year the last half of the district. They appear to be the team to beat, but it is going to be a tight race. -

This district race is going to be a barn burner. 6 of the 7 teams are playing really close games each night. -

This was a good game. Good win for the horns. -
Those two have played at such a high level for so many years. 20 plus State Championships between the two of them.

THSF Preseason State Rankings, all classifications
Hupernikomen replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Jasper has a lot to prove. That scrimmage score against Nac didn't look too promising, but who knows how long the starters actually played. With Jasper's schedule it won't take too many weeks to figure out if they are top 15 material. -
Rykerx pick em coming soon!

Always enjoyed the pick em contest. Thanks for the effort spent..I am sure it takes a while. -
Sounds like Coach Barbay, of Jasper, has them throwing the pass this year..interesting.

Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold Team

That was a good read. Worth the 15 minutes of entertainment. How many of those on the 1st and 2nd team play AAU? What are their AAU rankings? -
[Hidden Content] dyestat says Desoto ran the nation's #1 time. Very impressive performance by them and SC for sure though. Event 219 Boys 4x200 Meter Relay High School Finals 1 DeSoto 'A' 1:25.46 2 Summer Creek 'A' 1:26.52 3 Curtis, John 'A' 1:27.02 4 Galena Park North Shore 'A' 1:27.31 5 Fort Bend Bush 'A' 1:27.36 6 Episcopal (Bellaire) 'A' 1:27.65 7 Fort Bend Marshall 'A' 1:27.77 8 Port Arthur Memorial 'A' 1:27.80 9 Houston Lamar 'A' 1:27.89 10 Stafford 'A' 1:27.94 11 Lancaster 'A' 1:27.98 12 Houston Eisenhower 'A' 1:28.54 13 El Paso El Dorado 'A' 1:28.77 14 Houston Cypress Springs 'A' 1:29.32 15 Houston Nimitz 'A' 1:33.39
you are correct, but SC ran the fastest time in the Prelims and then Desoto ran it in the Finals. Unfortunate our 3rd ran 50m limping after he pulled hamstring, otherwise Desoto was History! Not bragging IjS
Prelims are prelims. Desoto ran a faster time in the finals than anyone ran in the prelims. I hope the kid from Summer Creek heals up by the State meet because that would be an awesome race.

It is is FAT timing it is legit, if it is not then it is open for debate. Either way, 10.4 with a stopwatch is still extremely fast.
Commits to Iowa State Is it safet to call WOS DBU for highschool??Kid didn't even start last year. But is a super athlete an will blow up this spring an summer.5'10 185 safety and runningback 10.6 100 meters.Last year alone WOS fielded these dbs on a 3A team. Travon Blanchard (Baylor signee) Jmarcus Rhodes (SMU signee) Quentin Tezeno (Utep signee) Colin Janice ( Arkansas State signee) Deionte Thompson (2015 Bama commit) Chris James (2014 Iowa State commit) 2006 Deon Beasley 2007 Earl Thomas, Jacoby Franks 2008 Seth Thomas 2010 Trey Franks James Haynes 2011 Mark Roberts 2012 Justin Thomas Dacarlos Renfro. All these kids played DB for WOS pretty impressive for a school with less then 700 Kids in the entire school.
Awesome list. So who will go down as the greatest Earl Thomas or Kevin Smith?
Tarkington fans could care less about football. GO BOBCATS!
Or maybe they just don't come on here because of the constant berating of their program. Their younger grade levels have competed well the last 2 or 3 years. Hopefully it will begin to show at the highest level. The coaches are doing a fine job with these young men. Go back to your never ceasing trumping up of HD and leave your neighbors out of it.

But that kountze team. Was prolly 1 of the best 5 teams in the state. Any classification..... milby was also loaded.... this kountze team is very talented but not on that level best ktz team imo since the 07 championship team
Actually Milby was the USA Today #1 team in the NATION at that time ;)
I remember the time they played Heritage Christian in a warm up game. Heritage had half a dozen D-I giants on their team. The put on a dunking exhibition before the game, but once the whistle blew to start the game it was all Kountze. This is going to be an up and down the court affair. You will see very little half-court game. It will be a game of streaks. I hope Kountze can pull it off.
