Huffman
I think Splendora will be in the mix. Splendora beat Huffman just this past week in a tourney game.
And followed it up with a win in Coldspring..very interesting.  Splendora is known for playing tough.  Great win for them.
 2.
Splendora wins at Coldspring 58 to 54
First time I can remember Coldspring losing a district game at home to someone other than Cleveland.  This might be a very interesting district race this year.
 3. Brandon Johnson 66 yard td run. Newton 8-0 5:34 1st

I think the only team that can beat Navasota would be themselves. I don't think we played smart Mustang football like we HAD to. We will reload like we have done time and time again. We will be back. We have a good core group that will be back and should have an outstanding freshman team. See if we can't beat that door down next year. As far as choking, no we didn't. Just ran into a better team. We are still an elite team and elite program. AS far as our QB, Jimmy Salter was not the problem, he has played outstanding the past three years. AS far as our offensive coordinator, he did what he thought was the best way to win. It just didn't work out. Now for those commenting about number 14 he is an outstanding young man and SMU is going to be getting a great ballplayer. He is not a cheap shot artist.
I was the one talking about #14.  I don't think he is a cheap shot artist, I was just surprised to resorted to that kind of stuff.  I can tell he is a great athlete, but you can't allow yourself to act like that under pressure.  Sometimes people learn the best lessons in defeat.  I sure he will go on to do great things at SMU.  I just wished he wouldn't have acted like that.
WO-S doesn't lose well, their fans or their players.  I mean that respectfully too.  They all are amped up about Mustang football.  It is a way of life over there.  They don't have the best winning percentage in the state by losing and being okay with.  The kid let his emotions get the better of him.  I would venture to say they hadn't been in that position of getting beat like that is his career.  SMU is getting a great athlete.
The stadium barely held Navasota on the home side (there were a few seats in the nose bleed section on the very end leftover), surely Newton and Yoe won't bring more than Navasota.  It is a nice stadium and should be a great atmosphere for this game.  Two great programs collide.
 6.
I have not seen a team that good since Gilmer last won it. Dang it they are good and fun to watch.
I think Navasota's qb is every bit as good as Gilmer's qb was, and #2 is better than Manuel Johnson in my book.  The part that makes Navasota better than Gilmer was is defense.  Navasota is very solid on defense too.  Gilmer was good defensively, but not this good.  Great 3A team. They played better this week than last for sure.  LM was definitely a step up offensively than WO-S.  Defensively I think LM look pretty equal to WO-S defense. I would think #2 would be recruited by all the big players.  He is an amazing threat to score every time he has the ball.  The interception return he made was quiet a show of athleticism.
 7.
Where is our highly recruited secondary??
Coverage was great.  You won't see a better thrown ball on the high school level on that one.
 8. Not the start we needed.  Wos going to have to get some pressure on qb.  Playing man to man on wides.  Offense is moving at will for wos on this drive, until int.    Come on D!
 9. Sat on the Navasota side last week, but will be moving over to cheer on the Stangs this week.
 10. good question.  I was trying to see who was recruiting some of their players too.  The qb surely is being recruited.  There are several on defense that must as well.  Someone from Navasota needs to give us some info. on these athletes.  If they get by WO-S, region III will be very well represented.
 11. Second week in a row I got to see the Rattlers.  They are a very impressive team.  On paper they should beat WO-S, but games aren't played on paper.  Navasota is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball.  WO-S will struggle offensively against this team.  LM was a very good defensive team and Navasota had several very good drives against them.  Navasota did not look near as good in this game as they did against Jasper.  I am sure that was due to the talent of LM defense.  I am convinced that WO-S defense is every bit as good against the run as LM and probably better. This game will come down to three things: 1.  Can WO-S mount any offense? 2.  Will Navasota be able to limit the turnovers?  They gave the ball away tonight.  If they do that against WO-S they will lose. WO-S always capitalizes on turnovers. 3.  Navasota will have to throw the ball vertically down the field to win.  They are capable of that with very talented qb and receivers. This is going to be a great game.  I think WO-S will cause at least 3 turnovers and win this!  Navasota can be ran on and can be thrown on too.  WO-S finds a way to punch the ball after causing those turnovers and win this one. I predict:          WO-S 21  Navasota 17
The series is tied 1-1 ok and plus after Carthage football season will be  over without the state title ,they can sit back and watch silsbee in basketball , silsbee has a better chance of winning state in basketball than Carthage does in football, stephenville and Abilene Wylie are on another level.
I'd say Carthage would have a better chance against Stephenville than you do against Yates.  Hope I am wrong but I think Yates is the one in another league.
 13. Fumble by nav.  Lm takes over and scores on uvbelieveable run by lm qb.  What an athlete! 24-13 nav. 3 mins. 3rd
 14. Very nice int by lm.  Nav holds them and lm punts from endzone. Fumbled.  Td nav!
 15.
48 yard field goal as half expires 17-6
And had another 10 yards on it! Huge crowd here for nav. Lm better come out fired up or this turn ugly!
 16.
Varsity 4A losing to a JV2A in a 1A tournament....  those just might be grounds for losing your job. Why is Lumberton even there?
Lumberton has several starters out for various reasons.  But even so that is embarrassing.
 17.
That 05 Mustang team with Deon Beasley at QB was suppose to be unbeatable.  And that offense was head and heels better then what Navasota puts on the field this year. And we got beat in the semi finals against Whimberely.
I saw that 05 team and this year's navasota team.  I don't buy that WO-S offense was head and shoulders better.  Deon was better runner than Navasota qb, but Navasota qb is an excellent throwing qb.  I think WO-S had better WRs than Navasota does, although Navasotas are very good.  I think both rb at Navasota are very good.  WO-S had an excellent running game too.  I wouldn't have a problem saying WO-S '05 offense was better than this group, but not by much.  IMO anyways.   Now this year's WO-S defense is head and shoulders better than Navasota's defense this year.
 18.
best team I have seen all year, any classification. I was very impressed tonight. WOW!!!!!
They were loaded with talent everywhere.  Jasper moved the ball a bit on the ground and had some open looks through the air, but this team was just to explosive to beat without some major help.
 19.
I feel sorry for any team that plays Navasota no one will come close to beating them.
Many such unbeatable teams have fallen in the past.  Region 3 is loaded, every game will be a war from here on out. Jasper is not in the same league of your next two weeks.  Good luck, i think the rattlers have the team to beat, but there are some hungry teams still playing too.
 20.

This nav team is better than the gilmer team that beat us for the title.
.  How do you think they match-up w/ WO-S?
. Hopefully they can pressure the qb better than jasper.  Wos has athletes to make it a great game.  Nav offense is hard to stop, but wos can do it if anyone can. Will be tough for sure.
 21. This nav team is better than the gilmer team that beat us for the title.
 22. I agree Airforce, it should go both ways.  Just a couple things I will point out:  this is not the norm for Big Sandy.  I can't remember them destroying someone like this.  Some of those schools that get the grief for outlandish scores do it often.  Another thing is, in this case anyways, the one receiving the whipping has handed out many whippings over the last several years.  Can't remember any by 100, but I bet there was quite a few in the 50-80 point margin range.  I think I am just in shock that Goodrich lost by 100, more than I am disappointed Big Sandy beat someone by 100.
 23. Groesbeck holds on 4th down and takes over on down.
 24.

It is halftime at the DP and Pearland game. DP 17 and Pearland 0 doubled777
omg!  :o
DP has been a tough team this year.  LaPorte lucked by them and Northshore escaped with a win as well.
