1. I changed my picked off of LCM, had a feeling they might take this one.  Congrats to them on a great game so far.
 2.
Were is jasper OFFENSE!!!!.....please tell me
Where?  Getting better by finally playing a real defense.
 3. More penalties.  Jasper punting from WO-S 35, punted earlier from WO-S 32.  Seems like it would be worth a try from that far in their territory, but Jasper D has held them pretty well from that end of the field. 12 yard punt..good grief. 16 penalties so far and not even 4th quarter yet.
 4. Jasper with a nice drive going. Jasper announcer are more than impressed with Stangs D.
 5.
this isn't an upset, LT isn't in 4A territory anymore.. they're just another team ;D
Surely you jest.
 6.
Any more updates?
Sloppy start penalties everywhere.
 7.
Mustang Defense! For all those people that continue to doubt these kids are 4real possibly the best Defense in the state regardless of class!
Let's not get carried away there.  No doubt they have an awesome defense and very likely one of the best in 3A, but there are plenty of 4A and especially 5A schools that have unbelievable talent all over the field.
 8.
The first touchdown was 60+ yards. That's a short field?
Of course not.  I gave WOS credit for the passing attack.  My reference was to the 2nd turnover at the 20.
 9.
Wow....WOS has no offense....
Having a short field sure helps.  Sounds like their passing game is exploiting some holes in the Dogs secondary.
 10. 2 TO...2 TD  Not a good trend for the Dogs.
 11.

How about the rest of the scores? 7th - JV? Funny how only this one was mentioned...
didn't want to pile onto WO-S with too much bad news.  ;)
Well how did the other grade levels do?  I am always interested in seeing how these two stack up down through the grade levels.
 12. Closer we get to Friday the more the chatter picks up.

 14.
same story every year when these 2 teams play.... plus you don't need much Offense to beat  Jasper.... you just better hope jasper has a good punter...
Don't need much offense to beat Jasper?  You expecting another shutout?
 15. Good article.  Thanks for the link.
 16. Not much left to be said here..clock just needs to keep on ticking.  Going to be a packed house and a great game to watch.  Hope the weather isn't a factor.
 17.

I do not know anything about these teams.  Question, how do the three 4a teams that WO-S defeated compare to the two 4a teams that Jasper dominated in their scrimmages?  The two 4a teams might not have been world beaters.  Just do not know.  But for a fact, Jasper did dominate them in their scrimmages.  As I understand it, Marshall was in the 4a playoffs last year; so there possibly is at least some ability there.  Nacogdoches, who knows about them?  But for a fact, Jasper outscored them 14-0 in one live quarter.  So were the WOS 4a teams all that superior to the 4a exposure that Jasper has had?  Point is, Jasper has out-played everyone they have been on the field with this year, not just the 3a teams.  Again, just looking forward to Jasper once again being on the same field with WO-S!
So far, Marshall is 0-3 this season and have been outscored 133-28 in those 3 games.  Nacogdoches is 0-2 this year having been outscored 71-21.
WO-S has beaten 3 teams that haven't done so well this year either.  This is the first true test for either team.  I think Central played WO-S closer than that game should have been. I agree scrimmages mean very little.
 18.

This is game will be, with apologies to Liberty, OF and Kirbyville on the Jasper side and LC-M, PN-G and Central on the WO-S side, by far the toughest test for both teams thus far this season.  I'll have to respectfully disagree with my friend ryker that the team and coaches are foolish enough as some fans are to look past Jasper.  Do I think WO-S will win? Yes.  Do I think some sort of blowout will occur? No.  It will be, as many Jasper/WO-S games have been, uncomfortably close for fans on both sides of the field.
couldn't have said it better myself.  8)  I think Jasper fans do know how good WO-S is.  Very good indeed.  We do not yet truly know how good Jasper is this year because no one has yet really challenged them.  Friday night should reveal a lot.
You know it is kinda refreshing to see posts from fans who truly respect the other team, not saying their team is going crush the other one. I think WO-S fans obviously think we will win but I guarantee we respect the 'Dogs for they have earned our respect on the field.
Most of the outlandish predictions will come from the outsiders.  Those of us who have been watching these games for the past 20+ years knows that there is no sure thing when these two meet.  WO-S has had Jasper outgunned last several years.  Jasper will be hungry against a long time rival.  This will be great game to go and watch.  WO-S always seems to be on the verge of making a serious run a state title.  This might be their year.  They have looked good so far.  Defense has been the key when they did win their crowns.
 19. Jasper has big play potential on both sides of the ball.  WO-S offense hasn't shined but has played good competition.  WO-S defense seems to be back in full swing.  I am saying 14-7 and don't know who wins.  Of course I hope it is Jasper.

 22.
I guess Jasper has earned a bit of respect through the years.  I agree with you though OF should be getting more respect than they are on the thread so far.  I think it will be a high scoring affair.
OF was only out of 2 games last year.  Coldsprings and BC.  All the rest they were at least competetive.  If OF was in the same district as jasper, they would have been in the playoffs the last 4 years.... jmo
Maybe so.  District was especially weak last couple years.  Before that with Carthage was a different story.
 23.
I do find it interesting that OF has won all but one of the games in the last several years, yet every pick has Jasper winning...
I guess Jasper has earned a bit of respect through the years.  I agree with you though OF should be getting more respect than they are on the thread so far.  I think it will be a high scoring affair.
 24. Orangefield always plays the Dogs very tough.  Jasper looked pretty good to me in their game against Liberty.  Orangefield gave a very good EC team a close match.  This should be a good close game.
