Top 6 Jasper leads 5-0. Bolton on the mound. -
i hope Tyler Bolton is pitching if so Jasper wins in good fashion, if not i think Kville could pull out an upset
I don't know if I would call it an upset this year. Jasper has been squeaking by in district so far. Kville looks pretty tough.
Not big enough to hold BC's Matt Menard last year in the playoff game against Jasper. I think he hit it a little bit left of dead center.
That was a shot. -
I am searching the world wide web and cannot come up with any broadcast of this game. Too bad those local Jasper radio stations who are so in love with Jasper football and baseball can't share some love for their playoff basketball team. ::)
Yeah, we need an AAW. Our football and baseball guy is great but he is getting up their in age. -
Jasper is going to be tied for second no matter whether Center or Hudson wins. It would seem to me that if Hudson wins, Jasper has the clear tie breaker in the better record in the games between the two teams. If Center wins, it would be Hudson and Jasper tied with 3 losses each. Jasper and Hudson split, each winning their home game. So what would be their tie breaker? Or will a playoff game be necessary for seeding?
I would guess that a coin toss would determine seeding from there. I really don't know if the UIL has rules regarding a 2nd game for playoff seeding for the the same team. -

Calling out the coaches and school publicly usually isn't a bright idea. Hope it works the way you want it to, but typically this just create animosity and resistance from the establishment. -
Cuttbacks in revenues to all school districts and for a small school they should not have a separate AD and Head Coach. Waste and very poor decision making.
Dayton is far from being a small school. I am sure there will be more than a little bit of work to keep busy as AD. This might actually turn out to be a great move to free up the HC to concentrate on football and not be bothered with all the other headaches that come with being AD. Granted it will be an increase in spending provided they didn't combine some other things. -

Sad news. Our prayers are with him. -
EC won by 12 should have been more! Hardin has a good team taking nothing away was a good game!
And was without a key starter. If things go as expected should be a rematch down the road a neutral site.
If you were at the game you know that Center had to play the refs from 2 minutes left in the first half until the final buzzer. It was one of the worst called games I have ever witnessed in high school basketball. Just keep in mind that when you travel 60 miles north on highway 96 it WILL be a different story. I just hope our coach doesn't call off the dogs and beats ya'll just as bad as we can. Your scorekeeper's table personnel even pulled some trickery when they failed to start running the clock in the first half for about 30 seconds and even tried to give ya'll points you did not score.
That bad huh? -

Bring in a coach that the community and players believe in and they will be just fine. Hard to argue against the credentials of the young man they have hired. There are always people disappointed when their guy doesn't get the job. It is called pride. Alvarez or Valastro both would have been great hires also. Those who chose had a hard choice to make. It was made.
heck, I am glad Morgan got hired .... probably will be a great hire for Jasper ... I think he will turn around your program ... IF the parents and fans give him a change and don't get thier tights in a wad the first time little Jimmy is called on the carpet for any mistake or unsportmanship, .... But to call heart, desire and discipline a bunch of nonsense speaks volumes about your great Jasper football program ... evidence #1 ... I give you 2-8 ... evidence #2 ... being beat by Diboll, Orangefield, Center, Kirbyville and whoever else beat ya ... enough said ...
What is nonsense is to assume Jasper's kids don't have heart and discipline. Bring in the right motivator and these kids will compete and beat those they should beat. There is no shame in losing to Kirbyville these days but I agree we shouldn't lose to those others.
