Jasper vs. Center Game Thread/Center Wins/Comments

Another TD for Center. They say a lot of people are playing both ways. Sounds like they are already winded. Going to be a long season for the dogs. 27-10 -

Where should we eat in Livingston?
Hupernikomen replied to jake94's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Florida's has the best ribs , catfish, homemade pies and cakes of anyplace around. I never pass up a chance to eat there when in Livingston.
This is the best place to eat in Livingston that I know of..Shrimp Boat is good too. -
Jasper vs Silsbee Predictions
Hupernikomen replied to the sports guy's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Jasper has struggled. Silsbee should be favored. Hard to say it is a 3 TD difference like a lot are saying. The game is usually a good battle. One wonders if last Friday will have any lingering effects on Jasper. Hope they can stay focused and make a good game of it. -
Jasper At WO-S Predictions?

I would expect that Jasper shows some new wrinkle on offense this week, but unless they learn to cover the pass it won't matter much. I know they are working hard to get better and hope they surprise us.
If they don't cover well they could be in trouble.
They didn't against Lumberton that is for sure. -

Jasper At WO-S Predictions?
Hupernikomen replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Jasper will be up for this one. They should be able to keep it close. Anything under 21 will be a good outcome for Jasper in this one. They are just a bit inexperienced this year to run with the Stangs. -

Chester eyeing six-man football chances
Hupernikomen replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
This is a difficult issue. Who would Chester play? That is one thing that administration needs to consider.
The article spelled all that out. Doesn't appear to much more in travel than before. I think it would be cool to get some 6 man teams in this area. -

Looking Back Over The Years And Your Team

WOSgrad, those were some super games that will stick out in the history books at wo-s. cant remember the year but we were behind in the playoffs agnest jasper, and i belive our OC at the time was berry norton not sure about it. he called a middle screen to adrean steen and we won with with very little time left it was a outstanding call. PS two all of you that have posted on this thanks
Your a little off on timeline Skipper. Barry Norton was my OC during the late 90's. Adrian Steen was a running back in 87 I believe. Im not sure of ever being behind of Jasper in a playoff, but many in regular season.
I believe it was in 87 but it wasn't a middle screen it was a guard around call that was the play that was the great call. I thought they scored on the guard around, but perhaps he was chased down and scored later on a middle screen. Tough loss for the Dogs that night. -
Congrats to Mixon and Dawgs for again making it to Austin. Came up short and lost to a great team. Giddings pitcher is very good. Sowell pitched a very good game. Giddings batters are fairly solid, and from what I saw out of Pleasant Grove's ace they are in trouble tomorrow against Giddings. Two best teams played in the night game. Jasper couldn't get the big play they needed with runners in scoring position. The buffs were just too solid. (I can't wait till the next time HJ is in a big game.)

Parker to play at UT before Felts
Hupernikomen replied to T-daddy's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Very regretful that a Jasper fan even brought up this topic again. No sense in it and very poor class. Both are great players and will go on to bigger and better things in life than baseball. I only got to see Felts in that series. I have seen Parker for several years. Parker is a gamer. He is an all around great kid and player. Felts appears to be as gifted of a catcher as I have ever seen behind the plate, and in the 2 games I saw his bat was tremendous as well. Good luck to them both. -
I am all for Jasper winning, but has anyone actually seen Giddings play, or are these just gueses. Everyone predicted that BC would beat Jasper, then everyone predicted that Orangefield would beat Jasper...maybe we should pick against them. They seem to like the underdog role. Giddings has only given up 4-or 5 runs in the playoffs. There two best pitchers are studs, plus they were in Austin last year as well. I am hoping for a Dawg win....I think if they can get thru the semis, that the finals might be an easier game.
Don't worry everyone did the same thing the year Jasper won it all. Abliene Wylie was just too good. Jasper 10 run ruled them. LE was the defending state champs with the whole team back. Jasper nearly run ruled them too. Jasper prefers the underdog role.
Jasper impressed me on how well they hit the ball 1-9. No matter if you were the 4 hole hitter or 9, when they had 2 strikes they choked up, protected the plate and put it in play. Great coaching
Middle of the lineup struggled in this series but the rest picked up the slack.
So where are they all going so we can keep up with them?
-
Glad I got to see this Orangefield team. They are a special group of kids. Felts is the best high school catcher I have seen. That kid is amazing. In the end Jasper's defense was better than Orangefields. Both teams pitched equally well and hit the ball about the same. Wish all Orangefield seniors the best of luck at the next level.
Never once said it couldn't be done. And it sounds like jasper made great defensive plays. So my prediction on how jasper needed to win was dead on
Jasper made plenty of mistakes in this game also. I don't know that a single run was earned by either team. The scoreboard said 2 errors each but I bet is was more like 4 each. Jasper did make a couple of huge defensive plays that were game changers. The double play in the 1st was huge and the diving catch at the end obviously was too. Statum absolutely crushed that last pitch.
