That will be the biggest thing. They have to slow down the OF offense and make all the plays when the Bobcats put the ball in play.
Jasper has scored their fair share of runs.
that cool and all but he didnt say anything about scoring runs.  jaspers def will either win the games or it will lose it.
No but he said Jasper had to slow down OF offense.  How about OF slowing down Jasper's offense?
I would think most people would agree OF's offense has been the difference in 98% of their games this year. OF has to stop a very, very potent Jasper team, don't get me wrong. But OF 1 through 9 has been the difference for the Bobcats this year including last week. If Jasper holds OF to 4-5 runs twice, Dogs win. But it takes a lot to do that.
Wish we had scores for both teams for all their games this year.  Neither teams has been held to 4 or 5 runs very many times.  I know in Jasper's losses they were shut out once by Hester.

 5.
Statum and Angelle are good pitchers but they are no Matt Hicks Jasper has proved that they can win against tough pitching.
Well Hicks beat us the first game.  And unearned runs caused him the 2nd game.  Jasper showed they had a good enough team to hang around and take advantage of mistakes against a top pitcher.  If Jasper plays good defense they have a great shot at going back to Austin.
 6.

wasnt at the games..only got the updates and didnt watch the webcast...did bridge city not hit the ball at all in both games...how many hits did they have in both games.....looks like jasper still has thier number..always have and probably always will...
That comment will come back and bite you someday.
Jacf being from BC you should know very well that BC always will put a great team on the field.  I use to think Jasper would never beat WOS in football.  We haven't much, but I sure look forward to every chance we get. BC will have their day.
 7. He reminds me of Roy O.  Similar windup and he works very quickly.
 8.
OF in 3 1st game 5-2 OF 2nd game 6-3 Jasper 3rd game 4-3 (9) OF
That would be exciting. These two teams have better hitting than they do pitching.  Not to say they don't have good pitching, they have very good pitcher.  But they are hitting teams.  I look for at 2 of these games to be in double digits by the winner.  The first game might be tight.
 9. Cool article. Was the kid who threw for BC this year in game 2 a freshman? I was amazed at how well Hicks threw in game 3.  He didn't seem to tire at all.
 10.
Ty Parker did not make the all star game, nor did anyone from Jasper....what a joke
Perhaps Mixon didn't pay his dues this year? Parker certainly deserved consideration, as did Alvis.  Sowell and Ernest weren't far behind those 2.
 11.
Anyone heard this rumor?
We'd he live Evadale?
 12.
Hicks and Ernest
Ernest was solid day 2 in both wins, but man the first game was not his best effort at the plate or in the field.  Glad to see him bounce back and play like he is able.
 13. Good article. A&M, Texas and Lamar.  That is impressive for any team, not to mention a 3A team.

Jasper 2 Orangefield 6 Orangefield 3 Jasper 8 Orangfield 4 Jasper  7
What if it's a 1 gamer? ;D
I don't think either coach would choose a one gamer.  Orangefield hasn't had much luck in the first game of series of late, and Jasper has enough depth at pitching to prefer the 2 out of 3 in my opinion.  But I guess it could happen.  It would rest arms before Austin for the winner.
Of late? Orangefield just beat #1 Robinson in the first game of their 3 game series.
My bad..it was Evadale.  I guess Orangefield did lose first one to WO-S though.  Either 1 game or 3 games shouldn't matter much.  Orangefield will be the favored team.

Wish Hicks and BC seniors the best.  Sure have enjoyed watching those guys the last several years.  Jasper has had a good run against BC, but it has always been games that could have went either way. Orangefield or Jasper will be in Roundrock with a great shot at winning a championship for SE Texas!
Actually 3A is played at Disch Falk this year.
No kidding?  When did they do that?
I think 3a moved to RR only while Falk was being refurbished.  Not sure though.  I thought 3a moved back to Falk last year.  I don't like it if only because of the parking situation in Austin.  I also don't like it because Jasper has won only one game there and that was in 1961!   ;)
I will be in Austin that week so it wasn't going to be a long drive either way.  Not too bad of a walk from the parking garage across the highway.
 16. If it was basketball or football I would pick Yuga by 40, but since it is baseball and the Rebs are on a roll I think they will pull it out!

 20. Didn't want to see Hicks again    :-\ 1-0 Dogs 1 out top of 2nd.
 21.
I think Sowell pitched into the fifth inning.  That would leave him five more legal innings for today. Will he start the third game?  Relieve?  Finished for the day?
He has got to be gassed by now.  I would think Burleson starts and Alvis comes on in relief.  Might be the other way around.
 22.
Jasper 9 Bridge City 2, to top of 7th
You watching this one at home?
 23. Nierio fell down but caught the ball for the 3rd out..wow.

I think Zoch vs Bolton/Phillips or Alvis Mixon will try to save Sowell.
I agree with Zoch, but I think for Jasper it will be Phillips or Alvis with Bolton and Sowell waiting in the wings.
Probably will be Burleson with Alvis available for relief.
