You thinking they are a bit hyped up this year or what? They have beaten Carthage, Hudson, Vidor twice, LCM, Lumberton, WO-S, Dayton, Silsbee twice , Buna twice, Livingston, to name a few of the better teams they have played. I guess they haven't played PNG, Nederland, BC or Orangefield though if those are the worthy adversaries to whom you refer.
You must of gotten your info from a bad source.  Vidor has beat Jasper twice and I think 1 of them was a shutout.
Jasper hasn't played Lumberton...it was a rainout
Ok.  Thought they played in a tourney.

 3. Thanks for the run down.  Hope to catch a game soon.
 4.
if carthage and hudson was in 21-3a they would both make the playoffs with bridge city...orangefield (who can dispute them) all of setx what have they done? ever?  jasper, bc, carthage, hudson, are the top 4 teams in 3a region 3..
WO-S has been to the State tourney although it was in 4A.  Silsbee has had plenty of very talented teams through the years.  San Augustine won state as 3A I do believe, although they are now 2A.
 5.
Actually, not every player on that team could get a scholarship. The subs were pretty good h.s. players but only a couple will get future scholarships...in the state tourney, there was definitely a drop off of talent when the subs went in...Wise could not go 5 in and 5 out like he did in regular season. But those first five were impressive...Also, not sure about the grade remark..Saw a kid from P.A. play at Tx. this year that did not graduate with his class...It's amazing how they " find a way ".
You are right.  Yates was about 7 or 8 deep at the state tourney.  Anyone know where the Roy kid is going to college?
 6. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Yates win it all.  Those kids played with poise and great skill.  Have nothing but the highest respect for their abilities and execution.  Can't agree with some of their scores, but they truly were champions on the court.
 7.
ST413..............YOU KNOW I AM FROM SILSBEE.....SO when I tell you that all of those charges in 2nd half were legit...they were LEGIT......I didn't like it ,but our guys came in outta control....they were easy calls...get a look at a disc....THERE WILL BE PEOPLE WHO DON'T AGREE......BUT IF YOU WATCH YOU WILL SEE
I didn't see but the very end of the Silsbee game, so wasn't speaking directly toward it.  I wish I could remember which game that the tall and bald black man called but he missed nearly every call all he knew was "charge".
 8. The officiating was good.  I felt like I saw 2 officials who weren't on the same level as the other officials there.  One of them had 2 guys who kept bailing him out of bad calls, and the other one wouldn't know a blocking foul if it hit him because he would call it a charge as he did the whole tournament except the one charge that he called a block.  Overall the officiating was high quality.  I will say this they let them play a lot more than what I am use to seeing around here.  Those kids banged on each other quite a bit without calls.

 10. Doesn't say much for 2A basketball if these bad teams keep making it to State and winning titles does it? I saw these games too, and Ponder was a very fine team.  Nothing flashy just good old fashion basketball with a real offense set and solid defense.  Starting the game 7-7 and 4-4 from 3's kinda indicated that they knew what they were doing.
 11.
"Parker" who hit the double in the second inning to center field was Parker Phillips
Thanks.  Jasper's names are confusing to keep up with Parker Phillips, Ty Parker, Tyler Ernest
 12.
Seems like jasper's lineup is very weak at the bottom. Good thing its pretty stout at the top!
1-6 have put up big numbers to this point in the year.  Not too sure about 7-9.
