  1. Revised Hup poll. 3a and under will be based off of Relative Strength 1. Newton (top 10 2A) 2. Kirbyville (top 15 2A) 3. Jasper (top 15 3A) 4. WO-S (top 15 3A) 5. Evadale (top 20 1A) 6. Anahuac (top 30 2A) 7. Cleveland (top 30 2A) 8. Corrigan (top 30 2A) 9. Silsbee (top 30 3A) 10. Coldspring (top 40 3A)
  2. This is exactly what I have been talking about. I have no problem with Hupernikomen's Poll. I think it is as accurate as a SETX poll can be. Judge teams by how they take care of their business, not how they would stack up against other schools in other classifications. Alright that is how I will do my 3A and Under poll each week. 4a/5a I will just rank head to head since it wouldn't be as big of a deal.
  3. I was being facetious, of course those place are SE Texas. At least they are to me. I guess maybe a better title would be Pineywoods I dono.
  4. Livingston is not SE Texas aka Great Golden Triangle, nor is Jasper, Newton, Kirbyville, etc. etc.
  5. Dave's ranks heavily favor the metroplex.
  6. If the polls were a reflection of where the teams stand statewide within their respective classes then Evadale would be ranked a bit higher. If I was going to rank them by how I think they stand statewide within their class I would rank them 1. Coldspring (top 40 3A)
  7. Alvarez will keep it classy..won't beat them by more than 70. That seems to be his limit.
  8. Anahuac is the class of the district again. Anahuac beat Hardin about like they did last year. Last years game was 35-13 over Hardin. Anahuac went on to annihilate EC 47-12. Hardin and EC played a heck of a game last year that Hardin won in EC. I imagine this year will be about like last year. I think Hardin wins it at home.
  9. Dave Campbell always has some interesting rankings.
  10. It is really weird. All these years that Jasper hung its hat on the spread, they were not particularly successful with it. Now, with another primary offensive approach, Jasper seems to be having good success with the spread. Go figure. Clearly, it is giving other teams two totally different offenses to prepare for. From what I can see of Bickham, I would not be surprised if he pulls something else out of his hat somewhere down the road. LOL not particularly successful running the spread??? your kidding me right?? Jasper installed the spread in 01 and played 14 games in 4A football and on 02 played 14 games in 3A football then in 03 played 14 games and in 04 played 16 games. thats 58 games in 4 years i think that is pretty successful!! granted only played 11 games in 05 and just 10 in 06 which was the last year of the true spread. I have to agree with JDog to some degree. The version of the spread Jasper had been running during the last 4 years were not impressive at all. We needed a change but it is good to see we have a bit of versatility.
  11. Poll for the Evadale Fans 1A Poll in East Texas Districts of 19, 20, 23 1. Alto 2. Cayuga 3. Teneha 4. Evadale 5. Joaquin
  12. I agree Hup. But with only 2:45 left in the game, Jasper with one timeout left, Silsbee on the Jasper 32, 1st and 10, IMO getting yards should not have been the priority. Running the clock should. Even if Silsbee would have netted zero yards in three running plays, they could have at least run off a minute and 1/2 of time before punting the ball and making Jasper use their last timeout. Worst case scenario would have been Jasper starting from their own 20 with 45-55 seconds left in the game. From what I saw from Jasper's offense that night, no way they get down the field in that amount of time with no timeouts left. Like Forest Gump would say, "That's all I got to say about that". You are right though. That deep in Jasper's territory they should have been feeding it to Barnes. And you are also correct that Jasper wasn't moving the ball in big chunks in the game much less the 2nd half.
  13. Central WOS West Brook Galena Park NS Dayton Barbers Hill Vidor LCM PNG Jasper Orangfield Bridge city Kirbyville Newton Hardin *come on Hornets* Kountze Buna Colmesneil Evadale West Hardin Now this was a tough week.
  14. 20 out of 20!! I think I will quit while I am on top.
  15. I have missed 3 total in 3 weeks and am still way off of the top of the list. Some of these folks are getting inside info!!!!
  16. I think they had a few votes last week. Can't say I blame the voters for not voting for them this time around. Struggling against a team that has a poor record is all that 90% of those voting even know about the situation.
  17. Silsbee had gained 40 yards the whole night on the ground. Their receivers had been going over the top of the shorter corners of Jasper at will in the 2nd half. They called what had been working.
  18. Yeah I think they need some more diversity on offense. They showed a few wrinkles against WO-S so I am sure they are putting in more all the time.
  19. Silsbee played a good game. Jasper isn't a top 5 team in the state or anything, and very fortunate to have won this one.
  20. PNG getting plenty of respect in the area. Ranked #1 by the Enterprise.
  21. Yeah sounded like he could really elevate over the shorter McGill.
  22. Diboll's only bright spot on the season was the win against Silsbee. Every other game has been big time blowouts. A poor Nac team only beat them by 10, but everyone else beat them by 40 plus. On paper Jasper should kill them, but it is a district game and Diboll will play hard. I say Jasper pays them back for last year's game and reverse the score. Jasper 31 Diboll 14
  23. Yeah that sounds right. So why do teams put a person back deep in the end zone on long field goal attempts?
