  1. Well the good news is you got three responses to your query in under an hour. Thumbs up for your civil response btw.
  2. That is a tough schedule. Could make the playoffs with 3 or 4 losses and be salty.
  3. 3A Div I could look like this if they just swap out those coming into the division with those leaving. Coldspring-Oakhurst, Crockett, Diboll, Elkhart ,Palestine Westwood, Trinity, Huntington (District 11 gains Huntington and loses Franklin) and Anahuac, Buna, Hardin, Kirbyville, Winnie East Chambers, Woodville and Tarkington (District 12 gains Tarkington and loses Orangefield and Warren)
  4. My prediction is close to that: Center, Jasper, Shepherd, Liberty, Silsbee and WO-S, HJ, HF, Orangefield and BC Or they find someway to pull Jasper and/or Center north again. Carthage makes it tough on them to not make somebody have to do some serious travel. I wouldn't be surprised to see district with Carthage, Center, Rusk, Bullard, and Brownsboro (ty Mr. B.G.)
  5. I sure felt like coming into the year it would be a great chance with the way we played last year. As you said we just never clicked all year.
  6. we can hope.
  7. I see a rematch coming.......
  8. No doubt the better team won this game. Bellville played a solid game on both sides of the ball. As a Dog fan, I can't find much good to say about what I saw. Lackluster, no leadership, penalties at all the wrong times...plenty of talent but no fire in their bellies that I saw. WO-S would have beaten us by 50 this year. Bellville has their hands full next week, but this is a classy team that plays assignment football and executes. It will be a good game.
  9. Finally got to see Silsbee play. Fairly typical Tiger team. Good pursuit of the ball. Very talented skills positions. I think they are every bit as good as Jasper if not better. Smithville will have a hard time this week if they can’t protect the edge. That is my prediction.
  10. Lumberton I believe has won state. png never? tarkington has been to state 3 times. huffman might break through this year.
  11. School funding is tied to attendance for the year and not for a single day. School enrollment swings mightily throughout the school year just about all districts. Snapshot day is based on enrollment on a specific day and not attendance. Probably a better way to do it, but they do want it based on “current” enrollment because some of these districts are growing so fast—Cleveland e.g.
  12. Jasper has not lived up to the hype thus far this year. With what they returned I would have expected more, but we aren't playing for keeps yet either.
  13. Very wet night and the passing attack just never did gel. Congrats to Huntington. They played a great game and deserved the win.
  14. Great game to watch. Congrats horns
  15. HF is impressive. QB has just improved every year over the last 3 years I have seen him. They have two rb's to compliment him that can gain good yards as well. Not much of a threat through the air. Defensively they are not bad, but they will have to win shootouts against the better teams in Region III to have a chance when the playoffs roll around.
  16. Sure not having Hunt hurt, but Jasper has a stable of backs that certainly are very talented who ran the ball tonight. I wasn't at the game, but it sure seems this game was won and lost in the trenches as I was listening to it. The other thing that seems pretty apparent to me is that Jasper does not have a very effective passing attack. Lots to work on and best of luck to the Lumberjacks.
  17. Praying he is going to be okay. Please keep us updated.
  18. BH 3-1 versus Tarkington.
  19. Livingston was very good, and Tarkington beat Huffman in district but didn't make the playoffs. Congrats to Huffman for making it all the way again.
  20. And if you ask the teams in the district who would win state this year from the district if not liberty, many would have said Splendora, who actually won the district title.
  21. The cheapest shot I have ever seen... Scared..too funny.
  22. What year was he? I can't remember a Runnels. I had limited knowledge for a few years while I was away at college.
  23. Yes, meant Lawrence Armstrong. He was the 2nd faster kid in the U.S. in the 100 meters at one point. . Tony Allen still is in the top 10 all in the 400..that speaks for itself. And i agree if Limbrick plays a full season next year, then that will be a potent 1-2 punch that might rival any we have had in the past. Hunt and Limbrick..glad I don't have to game plan that.
  24. I agree...tell you what if he can do what none other has done and guide the Dogs to a State Title then he gets my vote for sure
