  2. Nice run for the Dogs by Bailey gains 6 (was a flag before the play) 2nd down 9 (another 10 yard penalty) 2nd and 19...no they decline 3rd and 9 Overthrew ellis Jasper to punt
  3. Jasper takes over at their own 24 1st down (JV won 55-28, and freshman won 28-7 for Jasper) Kwame Spikes gains 4 2nd down :43 1st **flag** offsides Armstrong gains 4 for the 1st 1st down to start the 2nd quarter
  4. Jasper punts from the 50. Diboll takes over on their 19. 1st down qb Spencer scrambles and then runs for 24 yards. 1st down 2:13 to go Jackson no gain 2nd down Swing pass gains 7 to midfield. 3rd down (interesting note Diboll's offensive coord. and Jasper defensive coord. are brothers) Incomplete 4th down to punt
  5. Diboll receives. Couple first downs and punts down inside the 10. Bailey runs for 60+ on first play and Armstrong eventually runs in from 20+ Diboll responds with a drive and nice pass for a score. 7-7 late 1st
  6. Both offenses are much better than how they played. This was the first game that Jasper's defense seem to have gas in their tanks at the end of the game. Silsbee has a tremendous weapon in their qb, but when his receivers weren't catching the ball he was throwing it behind or over them. They were just out of sync it seems. Both rush defenses really stuffed the wholes. Both secondaries had receivers running free quite often. Bailey made some very sharp passes, and Spikes has great hands. Jasper had an easy 1st and goal that went right between Stubblefields hands that should of lead to point as well. I bet we see better games from each team next week.
  7. They look like a team that has had their schedule disrupted by two hurricanes. Yep, I agree that has to be a factor. Looked like a team that needs a whole new offensive scheme to me. We are too predictable on offense. From what I saw we should be throwing the ball way more than we do if we stay in this offense. I wouldn't mind seeing some power I or veer from these boys. how do you go from you need to throw to you need to run the power I......if you have followed thier games ....the offense has not been the problem.... because i said IF we stay in the current offense we should pass more. and then stated i would like us to run something beside the spread. it is the first game i have seen this year and perhaps we are still working out the kinks or Silsbee may just have a very good rush defense.
  8. Great win for this program. Going to be a very tough team to beat from here on out.

  10. Is this the combination of smiley and forest brook? I thought i had heard they were going to be out of school a while longer due to the storm. Good to see they are playing again.
  11. Jasper is 0-3. Lost to 2A, 3A and 4A so far. All three teams are undefeated to date. Gilmer looks unstoppable so far. Kirbyville is living up to the expectations in 2A. Nac. has handled a bunch of 3A so far. D. Bailey isn't putting up the numbers on the ground this year like last year, but the passing game is improving. Defense played better against Nac. Silsbee game is a big game.
  12. Well for me I looking for Gas for my generator. We are okay on food for quite a while this time around (learned that lesson last time). Cleveland Wal-Mart will be selling gas tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Any others you know about?
  13. Very doubtful that WO-S could beat WB, but I bet they could hang close to them for at least the 1st half. Outside of WB, WO-S is the best in the area and probably Kirbyville or Newton behind them. PNG and Nederland both struggled against Jasper in a scrimmage, but that was just a scrimmage. In a game both would probably beat everyone else in the area with their superior size with exception of WB and WO-S. Jasper will probably not win but 1 game before district but will be battle tested and be a real threat come playoff time. So my rankings. West Brook WO-S Dayton PNG Kirbyville Newton Jasper Lumberton Nederland
  14. my guess is that some of these games will be canceled completely.
  15. when only get to practice 2 times to prepare you aren't going to be playing too smoothly, not to mention both teams have several weapons that are tough to stop anyways. Gutsy call to go for the win on the road, and a well earned victory. Came back from 2 TDs back just like Jasper did. Both teams can take a lot of positives from this game.
  16. 3rd down incomplete 4th down :26 incomplete kirbyville will win.... Great game by both sides.
  17. Man what a long drive...Kats showed some heart there. :57 secs for the Dogs to do something. Short bouncing kick that Alvis falls on. Jasper takes over on their 34. 1st Down Empty backfield Complete to the 48 1st Down Alvarez out on the field..complaining about the clock incomplete 2nd down :42 Ellis gains to the 45 of kirbyville :32 Jasper time out
  18. :57 2 point conversion GOOD!!! Kirbyville up by 1
  19. Alvarez elects to go for the win!!! Illegal Substitution...moves them back.
  20. 35 yard attempt...hold was no bueno, snap was not so good and the kick was no good. Kirbyville's ball. Good to see them try what they might have to have later 1st Down Tipped and almost intercepted 2nd Down 2:05 (43-36 Jasper) Hook and ladder nice gain to 31 of Kirbyville 1st Down overthrow to Hewitt (?) 2nd Down 1:52 1st down pass to around 48 of Kats 1:43 1st Down Jasper sagging defense Incomplete pass 2nd Down 1:32 Incomplete pass on a screen pass..big hit by Bronson 3rd Down 1:24 Incomplete pass..flag down... 21. Bailey keeps on 1st nice gain. Time Out Kirbyville 4:08 Armstrong huge run down to the Kirbyville 28 1st Down Armstrong gains 4 2nd down 3:31 Armstrong gains 2 on busted play 3rd down Armstrong just short of 1st 4th and 1 2:17 remaining...Jasper Time Out ?? No,...hold your helmets Dogs fan we are going to attempt a field goal!!
  22. 3rd down Overthrown on good coverage. 4th down and they should punt. Booker punts and Jasper receiver grabs it off the ground and near losses the ball..good grief.
  23. 1st down Loss of 3 2nd down long pass overthrown. kirbyville player cramping 3rd down Time Out 4:27
  24. Armstrong runs for about 9 on 1st 2nd down No gain 3rd down 6:06 and running Armstrong down to the 14, Refs bringing in the chains--1st down 1st down Armstrong fumbles at 9 and Kirbyville recovers.
