Half was 13-11 Tarkington. Liberty ran a zone and Tarkington was patient with the ball. 2nd half Liberty ran a man and Tarkington took care of business. Solid game by the Horns overall.

I don't remember Jasper ever leading in this game. There was so much scoring they might have squeezed ahead at one point.

losing quite a few good players, but I think they have a solid group returning. Should be competitive.

Dayton needs to play some 5A teams in predistrict. Jasper and WO-S always did when they were 4A. Dayton should put Westbrook and another 5A team on their schedule next two years.

Several games Bailey didn't play QB also. P. Rhodes will get the MVP and deserves it.

Saw the 2nd half..someone update us on what happened the first half. 2nd half neither team could move the ball very well. Newton held Tatum at the goal line to have one last shot. Hit an open receiver who was chased down or they would have won. They did give up 2 safeties..both were bad snaps over the head of the punter.

Cause their bracket has runner ups that are better than champions?? Does seem wierd.

They thought he should pass when Pratt like to have knocked Bailey's head off on the opening drive of the 2nd half.

I went to a China Spring game back when they had Shawn Bell I think it was. They had amazing fans and the biggest 3A band I have ever seen. It was after 9/11 and their band played the 4 battlesongs for the different armed services. It was amazing. Should be great halftime performance by both bands and a great game surrounding it.

Yes they did seem to commit to the pass when they saw the new scheme. It obviously didn't work. I commented that it looked as if we were the team that was 3 TDs behind.

Crawford's line was very good and the 4 or 5 backs who hit the holes did it right. I like the old school formation Crawford runs on offense.

Navasota went from a 3 man front to a 5 man front and put Pratt in at safety. Jasper's offense couldn't adjust to the changes. That and a mix of turnovers on kickoffs spelled doom for the Dogs. The tide changed and Jasper couldn't recover. Rattlers were a hard hitting bunch and deserved the win. They played a good game and made the right adjustments.

Unless things have changed (and with all of those 4A teams it looks they have some) there used to be several private schools come to this tourney too.

If Fitz has the wheels to be at receiver then he certainly will be at QB. You take a kid with his credentials off the field and they are a different team. Sort of like EC without Thomas this year against Kountze.

Not uncommon for Seniors to finish up their course work early. Can't remember if it was Shipley or McGee but one of those two did the same thing few years back.

I remember 3 tds and a couple big runs to keep drives going. He surely didn't have his normal stats. Their RB was the better weapon that night, probably because of so much attention toward Fitz.

So you think WO-S will blow them away? I don't know that I think WO-S is better this year then they were last year. That WO-S team last year was the one I thought would win it all (actually 2 years ago is the one I really thought would win it all). Of course sometimes it is the team that doesn't get near the respect that plays that much harder. This WO-S team reminds a lot of the Jasper 2004 team when expectations were low after those 2 years of high expectations. This group at WO-S seems to have a lot in common with that group. WO-S has had 2 years of high expectations with Beasley and Thomas among others. They did very well those 2 years, but didn't win it all as many hoped. This year doesn't have the superstar but just wins.

Those are very impressive numbers. More likely to get it on defense than offense. I think Hussey from Lumberton will be one of the finalist. I don't know much about WB did they have any big stat. players?

A healthy fitzhenry is a lot to stop. Last year was a great game Giddings was able to move the ball on WO-S and Fitzhenry punched in 3 TDs. WO-S couldn't seem to run the ball that night at all. Bevil did have some success through the air. I would have thought Giddings defense would be better this year, but looking at their stats I don't think they are. How many of those linemen did Giddings return this year? I know they have Dock back and he was all over the field last year. I don't see either team scoring more than 21. Going to be good close game.

Saw a video on Dexter Pratt on houston chron. website vs needville. He is a load. This might be a shootout.
