  1. Jasper greats from farther back...James Hadnot, Reggie Davis, Oliver "Bull" Hadnot. And as far as the fastest ever, I don't know who Spikes was to be honest, but I doubt he was faster than Lance Armstrong or Reggie Davis or Tony Allen.
  2. Looks the coach who has been to State with 4 different teams still has some ideas...and plenty of talent to beat NS!
  3. I didn't know much about Coach Green, but I found this statement from an old article: "When North Shore (33-3) defeated Fort Bend Bush 60-58 in the Region III final Saturday, it was Green's fourth regional title with his fourth team. He also won titles with 3A Kountze in 1997, 4A Beaumont Central in 1999 and 5A Hightower in 2011. " Pretty impressive pedigree.
  4. This qb does make wo-s better.
  5. Jasper running the ball decent, but no hunt, limbrick or hubbard definitely showing.
  6. Best Jasper team ever? Now that is a stretch...
  7. I saw some adjustments CT made during the Sweeny game because they were busting through straight up the middle just like Jasper did. The difference was that Sweeny did not have the speed at the RB position to take it to the house. Funny thing is as soon as Sweeny took the lead 3-0 I told my son watch what happens because WO-S is about to bow up and take over this game. Have seen it to many times on too many playing surfaces and levels. It is hard to beat a champion. Many years Jasper has came into these games intimidated, I don't think they will be this year. As someone pointed out up above, they better not come into the game expecting a repeat of the last one. Whoever wins this game will have to earn it because both will want it. I just hope I don't see another game with 20 penalties like Jasper's last game. It was brutal.
  8. I agree that play deserved a penalty at the very least on the hit against Wilson, and I also agree one of those safeties for Sweeny was playing dirty, imo,he had more than one punch I saw in the piles and at least two blatant face masks. I was impressed that WO-S players kept their cool throughout.
  9. I saw both games yesterday. Jasper and wos looked very similar. Strong against the run, untested through the air and both their offenses struggled to piece drives together. Neither team showed much explosiveness, but that speaks to the quality of the opponents as well. It is truly a toss-up imo, but Jasper losing 42 was a huge hit last night.
  10. Sounds good jdog. RC is right in front on the stadium in the new shopping center. See you at 11:30 Only thing better than watching wo-s and jasper play on the same day is watching them play each other. Best of luck to them both.
  11. Yeah, eating at 11:30 sounds good. Several good choices in Porter. I would suggest RC pizza, Chili’s or Gringos. You choose and hopefully some Stang fans or others can join us.
  12. Hey J_dog, I am going to these two games as well. See you there.
  13. [Hidden Content] very sad news. prayers for our shelby county friends.
  14. Tarkington had so many injuries this year, but they continued to fight hard to the last game. I was proud of their effort tonight. Good job Horns.
  15. Looks like 5 wins minimum will be needed. Crosby has two win out or have Barber's Hill loss the next 3 and Crosby only lose one while winning the head to head with BH. BH remaining 3 is going to be rough but so far they have been playing tight games every week. What a great district race this one has set up to be. Gotta love MCM for the DC. MCM will be one spoken about for a quite a while..especially if both can fight to 6-0 before the match-up. Think I might come watch it myself.
  16. This district will be 1. Woodville 2 and 3 winner/lose of buna/east chambers 4 winner of anahuac/hardin imo (granted anahuac could beat hardin and orangefield beat anahuac and cause a mess. And of course somebody could pull off an upset from among hardin, orangefield and anahuac to give one of them a leg up on a 3rd or 4th place finish) My picks: Woodville, East Chambers, Buna, and Hardin.
  17. Now that is confidence in your team...I have seen Center play. They have a couple good athletes. I do not think they have a whiff of a chance in stopping Jasper's offense. I do think they will move the ball against Jasper with their speedy skill players. It would be a massive upset in my opinion if the Roughriders beat this Jasper team. BTW, Shepherd beat Tarkington 38 to 12 or something like that.
  18. Historically speaking this should be a tough district for Hardin to finish in the top 4..that is what I meant. And I agree I think this would be the year they could get it done. I hope they do.
  19. Tough in the sense that it has a lot of parity. Several of these teams have been to playoffs recently and it will be hard for Hardin to displace one of them.
  20. Been a while since Jasper had a 2000 yard rusher. He will reach that easily this year if he stays healthy.
  21. This is a tough 3a district. Hope Hardin pulls it out, but Orangefield will be tough to stop.
  22. Hunt will get his yards early and Huntington will fight as hard as they can. I respect these teams that haven't had success, but still put in a ton of effort and work like those who do have the success. Sometimes it is about the Jimmys and Joes. It won't stop them from game planning all week and coming ready to give it all they have. Just hope no one gets hurt and that both teams can play with class while representing their communities well.
  23. HJ has some talent, but I don't think they can score on WO-S. WO-S just needs to get their offense going. Defense is trying to carry too much of the load and it is wearing them out.
