Anthony Byerly from Newton has been named to the UIL all-time team, I do believe.

Wow, what a calloused response by the offending schools AD.. basically he said... we are satisfied with the punishment the UIL requires they shook hands and he apologized--so that makes it better.. and the one that really gets me is when he was asked if he was concerned about the kid with a concussion.. "it is not my responsibility to worry about other school's athletes.." (paraphrased) ~~~~~~~~~~~~ That is a disgraceful response and I am glad he doesn't represent my community.

Simply Country has an awesome steak on Friday's and Saturdays only. Redd's is good but not on par with Jax's imo. Ann's Seafood is ok. Baytown Seafood is about the same.

Chili’s Jax’s on the square makes a very good burger. Several mexican food places, none I consider outstanding If it was me and i wanted the best in Liberty, I would it would have to be Jax’s

Thanks for the compliment Jaxon'sPop and best of luck to Kelly. The Horns are still young and each week getting better. Fumbles are still a BIG issue, but we are moving the ball much better and the defense always gives it all they have.

Jasper/WO-S is still a couple weeks away, but on paper it should go about like this Newton/WO-S game with the Stangs being favored by a couple scores, but you never know in these types of games.

One thing I have noticed that WO-S struggles with is size...That is what you find in Nederland and Vidor. One thing I do not see WO-S struggle with is athletes because they can match up with anyone. This game can surely go either way. Newton will be the favorite, but that will do nothing but fire up the Stangs. Been a long time since they were the underdogs. I wouldn't want to try to knock the chip off of those shoulders. I still haven't made up my mind which way I will pick. Can't say I have picked against WO-S that often. Of course, I can't say I have picked against Newton that often either. This likely is Newton's best team of all the great ones we have been seeing these last several years. I sure wish I could see this one.

Argyle being undefeated would make most of us think they are the favorite. Godley's players scholarship speak for themselves. Sweeny has beaten some good schools. Jasper was the underdog when they won state previously...I like our chances.

I was scratching my head on the two pitching changes as well. Keep in mind there is a pitching coach and a scouting report as well. Salado had shown no issues hitting game 1 against Jeassone. It appeared to me he was trying to get through the first part of that line up before bringing Jeassone. Sometimes that change in pace, and is this case being from the other side, is a difficult adjustment for high school batters to make. It didn't work out as expected but he made the change quick enough. And yes, the running catch against the wall in left field was a series saver, but there were plenty of dropped balls, baserunning gaffes, and numerous cutoff issues that had implications as well.

Two coaches with WO-S connection..tyvm. Anderson has done a fine job this year as well coaching those pitchers. Pulling Jeansonne after 10 pitches in game one looks like a great move now for sure. He did a very good job in game 3 relieving Soisson. Soisson also ending game 1 in relief of Womack.
