I agree, but if that person comes and stand in the walkway in front of you that is a bit different. These fans got there early for good sits and had no where to move to.

We are talking about it because it happened and since that is my hometown I hope it doesn't happen again. Several of them were very disrespectful and had the mentally that if you want to watch the game then you should have to stand up. Some were encouraging others not to get out of the way of the fans. That student section is a nice cheering section for the Dogs, but what they did by trying to move their location during the game was uncalled for and should happen again period! I have said my peace and shall move on to more important things such as game 2.

Jasper's outfielder was shallow and deep enough for BC to go for the score. The kid coming home ran right into the middle of the catcher who held the glove into his chest as he is supposed to. Any time you a collision of that magnitude and the catcher has the ball with the running hitting hit almost square it is a no brainer out! No way any umpire with any experience calls that play safe.

Those Jasper kids were standing behind Jasper and in front of fans from all over East Texas who arrived at the game well before most of the students who congregated during the first 2 innings. The standing section grew as the game went on, and that fine as long as they were in the spot that had no one sitting directly behind them. Nothing wrong with coming over and getting your section pumped up between innings, but then get out of the way. If a police officer would have been around he would have cleared you out of the ailse. One gentleman actually went to look for the office, but came back with a pretzel

I agree with just about everything you said. Which hits did you think should have been errors? There were a couple very hard hit balls that were bobbled deep in the hole that were scored hits and should have been. Not that it matters, but I figured there would be some that downplayed a very good offensive night for the Dogs against a dominate pitcher. One thing stands out in my mind is the shift of momentum that took place when Bronson had that triple. The outfielders were so far in, and were expecting him to slap at the ball like he normally does. It is almost like BC lost their composure once Jasper tied it up.

Yeah in that corner and not directly in front of several old people trying to watch the game.

Was a very good game with great atomsphere. Pass words on to your Jasper friends not to walk over in front of a bunch of fans and stand in their way so that no one can watch the game without standing up. They were just fine when they were over in their spot cheering, but they came right in front of a large group of people behind home plate and wouldn't move. Made Jasper youth look bad IMO. Hopefully they won't repeat that anymore.

Very well might happen, but Jasper is hitting the ball very well right now and could just as easy win by the same 5 tomorrow. Only time will tell, and like you I will cheer on the 21-3A representative either way.

You need to take those big red glasses off and be realistic here. Of course the errors hurt..they hurt both teams, but errors are part of the game. Jasper had 9 or 10 legit hits against Stringer. How many times has that happened this year?

BC certainly is very talented, but both teams had many error and mental mistakes in this one. Only the divine would know what the outcome of this game could have been without any of those mistakes. Part of being a great team is intangibles such as playing under pressure and making plays. Jasper made a few more of those plays again tonight. Bottom line is Jasper is 3-0 against BC at this point. Hopefully if they make it 4 BC fan's will show some respect. I know I wouldn't be surprised if BC took the next two because they are that good, but Jasper is an excellent team as well.

I don't know about that Reagan threw a lot pitches in those 3 innings, but you are probably right. BC didn't come to the plate to draw walks against him.

I think it will be Ellis. Mixon seems to use the lefty Parson in relief from what I have seen. Parson actually warmed up briefly in the 6th inning but never came in to pitch. That kinda showed Mixon's hand a bit, but heck I wouldn't be surprised if Reagen, Ellis, Stephenson or Parson started tomorrow. The biggest negative to Reagen throwing agin in my book is that it throws our defensive setup out of whack.

I will give a recap from a Jasper's fan perspective and allow the BC fans to give theirs. First time I have seen either Reagen or Stringer pitch. Stringer pitched a good game. Reagen appeared to be grooving the ball and BC was slapping the cover off of it against him. Reagen went 3 innings and gave up all of BC runs. Some of them were unearned, at least 2 maybe more. Field conditions certainly played a bit of a role. Outfielders did a good job as long as they were within the lines, but it was very wet outside of the lines and at the warning track. Infielders really struggled for both teams. I don't know if the dirt was wet or what but the left side of the infield had a bad night for BC, and not much better for Jasper. The two bad throws to first on 3rd strikes in the dirt were huge. The ball appeared to sail on him both times. Stringer was visibly upset at his defense. Stephenson came and practically shut down BC. He had good command of his pitches and moved the ball around much better than Reagen did. Both teams made good contact throughout the batting order. It was like down games. Reminded me of a football game where one team dominates the 1st half and the other team dominates the 2nd half. As far as BC's coach and Jasper's for that matter. I thought they both coached an outstanding game. The call to put Hart on base was the correct call. Bronson has shown to be a slap style hitter in all the games I have seen. He grounded out weakily to 2nd twice before his triple in this case. I think 95% of all coaches would have made the same decision. You set up a force agaisnt a ground ball hitter for sure. It was a good game that I had given up for lost when Stringer had a 6-1 lead, but you have to give Jasper a lot of credit for continuing to play hard and fighting back. The catcher for BC had a rough game behind the plate, but man he can kill a baseball. The freshmen infield for BC have loads of talent and a bright future. Dishon was as advertised. Can't wait for game 2!! As a side note: Please refrain from putting down individual players for their actions during the game. It is uncalled for and it is the coaches job that most of you are defending or railing on to deal with his players, not anonymous kids and adults on a message board IMHO.

I agree. It is going to be a great atomsphere. Fewest errors wins game 1 is my prediction, and most extra base hits takes games 2 and 3.

They is plural..there is one Jasper teenager that is getting carried away. The rest of us have been very supportive of BC up to this point. Been quite a few jabs at the Dogs so far by several BC fans. Heck this thread was very sarcastic in its content. "I FIGURED JASPER BEING SUCH A GREAT SCHOOL KNOWN FOR BASBEALL WOULD HAVE AT LEAST 2 UNIFORMS??" Morgan needs to tone it down for sure as well.

Are any of them telling you to chill out? Not real bright getting on here calling out an all-state caliber pitcher. Were you present the last time Jasper faced a decent left-handed pitcher? I can't wait for Thursday. It is always great to see two teams of this caliber go head to head with their aces on the mound. Regardless of what happens the 1st game, both teams will still have a shot once they get past the first game. Both teams have good pitching after the ace, but the batters are just a notch better and things should open up in games 2 and 3 (if needed).

Perhaps you are right, but I recall several games this year where BC booted the ball around. Jasper just doesn't make many errors and in games like these it can make a huge difference.

Sounds like Stringer was pretty dominating the first game that was played.

The last 2 years have been a disappointment in the playoffs, but before that Jasper seem to get knocked out by a powerhouse every year.
