Well it certainly is not Jasper's fault to have to start the game that late, grades nearly whipped out their tracksters and so they only qualified 1 kid for regionals.

possible HJ could push for 3rd, but I would think BC will take care of business with 2 losses now.

Orangefield will not make the playoffs. The representatives from 21-3A will be Silsbee, Jasper and BC. The order those 3 finish is up for grabs.

22-3A has been informed that a new school in kingwood will be in their district next year...at least that is what I have heard.

He was a very good shortstop. I was surprised to see them move him to the outfield. He must of have been needed there more.

Making it to the regional finals or beyond for 4 out of 5 years tends to impress most coaches.

Going to be a fine game. Hard to imagine any district in the state with 3 teams of the quality of 21's top 3. After these 3 there are several solid teams as well. Maybe one of those Lorena or LaGrange districts might be as tough...

I was wondering about which coaches would be staying on with Brooks too.

Jasper fans do...perhaps your HF Horns should care too since they were one of the two sorry teams that Jasper's sorry team beat. ------- Jasper's backfield will be young and quick. The question is: Does Brooks have the coaches in place to get the spread back into the form he had it in during his first stint? The offensive scheme was very poor the last 2 years. It is going to be a rough year again next year, but hopefully they can build for the following years.

Can't argue with them for not throwing Listi, but they should have thrown Arnold just to give him a taste of what 4A playoff ball is going to be like. They would have had a shot of hanging around with him on the mound IMO.

Kirbyville has turned the corner and will continue to compete very well now that they know that they can. The year that Jasper was "all world" and only beat the Wildcats 14-0 was the difference. It showed those kids that Jasper was beatable.

Most leagues are just happy to have someone out there that they can call an UMP. It isn't a career, and is a mostly thankless job. You are right umps do need more training, but most of these people are already full-time workers. I think the leagues should take the loud-mouth hotheads who cause so much turmoil and make them ump a few games to get a good dose of reality.
