Seems they played a series last year with many of those same characters back in the mix this year. With the way these two teams hit the ball it would be a football score each game.

According to the Jasper paper Brooks was never offered the job, but did discuss the possiblity with Coleman. Brooks didn't think it was the right time.

Outside of Shepherd this district was pretty evenly matched with Coldspring a notch or two ahead.

if they beat cleveland and coldspring beats cleveland I would imagine that would put them in, but I don't know what splendora would have to do to avoid a 3-way tie if the above scenario comes about.

New school board elections every year. Doesn't take but one to sway the vote again next year just like it did this year.

I don't remember this district ever being this even before. I would say that the win over Splendora was huge for Cleveland. They won't lose to Liberty or Shepherd 2nd half which makes the Tarkington game in Cleveland to end the district play a likely showdown for a playoff spot. Several key games still to be played out though. I predict Liberty plays a spoiler in this race, but who they beat is the question.

Was a good game for the longhorns. They weathered the spurts Cleveland had very well. Discipline and good free throw shooting was the difference.
