You forget about the 2nd half and adjust your pick?? I bet Splendora will be ready for this one. Been awhile since they made the playoffs they are ready to go back. Liberty on the other hand missed for the first time in a very long time last year. They don't want a repeat. Should be interesting.

Not 100% but I think it is a tie for 1st b/t Tarkington and Liberty (probably a playoff game coming) and 3rd Splendora.

Well I haven't thought it all the way through, but if Jasper finds a way to win this game I would think that would give them a good shot at winning out and being 4-3 in district..that just might be good enough for third. So technically speaking they do have something to WIN besides playing for pride. Unlikely to happen but I don't think the Dogs will lay down against either the Stangs or Tigers. Those games mean alot to the communities and the players.

Vidor, LCM or Nederland at this point. PNG is toast with Dayton and Central to play yet. 3rd place will be determined by two games LCM vs Nederland and LCM vs Vidor. Personally I think Vidor wins out and finishes in 3rd place with identical 4-3 record with Nederland but advances on head-to-head.

Sad to hear about that Cathedral player.

Jasper may be down, but they aren't without some real talent. The biggest problem is the offense. If they could have ever found the right mix I think this team could easily be right in the mix for a playoff spot. At this point I think one poster said it just right..they have nothing to lose and it is WO-S. I honestly won't be shocked no matter what the outcome because this game is just that unpredictable when you have so many factors invovled.

Sturns can be stopped. Jasper proved that last year.

WO-S doesn't have any two's..their two's are their one's on the other side of the ball. I don't buy the assessment that Silsbee had more talent than WO-S..that is just not true. Sure they had more size, but WO-S makes up for size with speed and talent. Man I loved watching those two linebackers from WO-S #41 and #43..those are football players right there. Probably not enough size for college ball, but they give it everything they have on ever single play. As far as the kicking game goes, I think it is a problem to have to call a timeout just to kick the extra point because the kid has to switch shoes.

Sad people will taint what was a great game with all the excuses. The better team came out on top, but Silsbee gave them a heck of a fight. WO-S didn't play that poorly, but did seem to shoot themselves in the foot a time or two..Silsbee did as well. I think WO-S should pass the ball more often. A lot of weapons. The one thing that really concerns me about WO-S in the playoffs is depth. I don't doubt their conditioning because I know they are in great game shape, but they are thin on backups. I would imagine several JV players will be suiting up before long to get some varisty reps. before the playoffs roll around.

That has been said before about this district..although BH and Huffman were a part of it back then.

Liberty Hill would be a good game too. They don't have the speed of WO-S but have a very fine system that is tough to stop.

Silsbee has a fine team and good coaches, but they are State Championship material this year with a flawless game IMO! Gilmer would donkey stomp Silsbee this year if they met up.

I agree. I don't know if any of you guys have seen Giddings play, but I have..they have some super athletes. I think WO-S takes them this year though.
