  1. Tarkington took the small school honors for a 2nd week in a row. Congrats to the Horns. I have been watching them run on the banks of the trinity river as I pass over the bridge some mornings. Seems like a good workout.
  2. any record of how we did zero week? need a running tally.
  3. West Brook Port Arthur Memorial Nederland PN-G Lumberton St. Pius WO-S Dayton Barbers Hill Huffman Silsbee East Chambers Cleveland Carthage Liberty Crockett Splendora Groveton West Hardin Burkeville Deweyville Anahuac Hull-Daisetta High Island Hitchcock Oakwood
  4. Nice..picking to beat Jasper by 3 TDs in the Boneyard. Dont' imagine that has happened very many times lately. I guess if it is going to happen this would be the year though.
  5. Yes indeed..welcome aboard.
  6. I have never seen their football field. anyone have a picture?
  7. That turf will show off some talent to some scouts more than the stands will..
  8. Looks like St. Pius has had a good recruiting year.
  9. Going to be a good fight. Ozen, Ned., PNG, Central and Dayton..two teams will be left out. I would give the nod to Ned., Dayton, and Central.
  10. if I had a vote I would give it to either BC or kirbyville.
  11. this is a good win. 1-0 is what the record books show at this point. glad to hear price came to his sense and put his defensive studs back on defense. all three of those young men mentioned earlier will be playing on saturdays next year along with others from the defense for BH.
  12. He only had 10 carries, but got 70 yards.
  13. At least he is the only one gets to wear a red face mask,
  14. Going to be interesting to see just how many yards moseley puts up this year.
  15. Jasper showed some promise with their youth, but they also showed their weaknesses with lot of missed tackles, dropped passes and PENALTIES!! Jasper has got to develop some plays that a youthful quarterback can handle to pass the ball. Lions have huge offensive line that made it difficult for Jasper to pick up the running back which was extra difficult with all the misdirection of the many different formation Lions ran..from the wing T to the nasty slot to pro-sets. Lions have 2 or 3 very good running backs..especially #5. First win for the Lions over the Dogs since the early 50s...time to get ready for BH now and good luck to the Lions.
  16. Sure did.. Hope he has a great senior year regardless.
  17. If he would have tagged berkman standing on first berkman would not have been out because he was on a base (I think, I thought about this a while last night too). However, if Berkman is out on the tag then it forces a tag at home because it would have taken off the force. If Berkman could have been out by just tagging he should have done that and then touched first, but I believe since Berkman stayed on base we was safe.
  18. Jasper isn't ranked. Looked like one person out of all of those people voted for them for 9th place. So they got 2 points. Newton is probably about where they should be to start the year. The shocker to me is that Gilmer isn't a unanimous choice for #1. Hard to figure that one out.
  19. Tarkington boys were first place in Dayton this past week. Congrats to them.
  20. I say the Broncos and the Bruins, but wouldn't be surprised at all to see it go the other way. Quality games for week zero.
  21. Liberty was expected to be pretty good this year. Still early yet. Scrimmages aren't always about trying to win, but find who can fill the depth chart. Orangefield might be in the mix for the 3rd spot along with just about everyone else. This race is shaping up to be more interesting all the time.
  22. Roll down your window, have everyone stop barking and listen.
