i agree with what you say 1A as a whole is not what 3A and up is but i have seen plenty of football all classes and i can tell you that the top 3 or 4 players on a good 1A team are just as good as any 3A, 4A guys. now I'm not saying that about this kid because i have never seen him play but i have seen HD play and year in and year out usually the best player on their team is good enough to play at any 3A school in the state I have to agree, as a whole most of the 1a kids cant play for a 3a team but the top 2 or3 players on the top 3 teams in this area could play for most 3a teams. Just because they play for a small school does not mean they cant play at the 3a level. Don't forget that Colt McCoy play at a 1a school and this year he should have won the Heistman. don't let the small school keep you from giving the good alethe his due.

Trust me, if he can start for the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats, then he can most definitely start for Orangefield. Huc will be the best athlete on the Orangefield team. Not so fast my friend...we have some athletes at Orangefield. We're also glad to add another one to the mix...welcome Huc!!! But believe me he's going to have to make a big adjustment coming from a 1A school to a 3A school and I'm sure he knows that. But for you to say he's going to be the best athlete on the team is way off!!! The biggest adjustments he will have, going from H-D to Orangefield is from a winning program to a lossing one. Trust me he will help the program and start at QB. But dont know if he will be able to help them win. That is yet to be seen.

Why stop there go ahead and sing him to the Titions he can be like Young and everone can tell him how great he is and the first time he fails he will won't to shot himself. How much pressure can one person take, let along a kid, The dad is a fool. Let the kid be a kid and if it happens it happens and if not so be it he might become a good person that did not play D1 football. There are a lot of them out here

I think Evadale will be down this year on the "D" side of the ball due to Graduation at the start of the year. It will be up to the younger kids to step up and that will take time for them to learn to play there spot and not chase the ball and give up containment. On the Off side of the ball a kid can be a stand out star but on the D side it takes all 11 working together ,doing there jobs on ever play.

I said we had big tall receivers that can all catch the ball and smaller D Backs are not going to be able to stop all of them And we Have a QB that can get the ball down the field. You prove my point again. The Cowboy fans are as strong as any in the league yet they haven't won a playoff game in 13 years. Fans don't and cant win games. And the income at the gate for HS games does go into the ethletic. bugget and that goes to the team. PNG has sold out games all year and all that money still cant win them games. You are so right It is all about income. That new field at PNG did not come cheep, but Fans do not make the team better. There is no better fan base than PNG and they have not made the playoffs in years.So the fans can pay the bills but they dont win games.

Don't remember saying about Bird or Magic's age. I said that Jordan did not dominate the game until they had retired ,for what ever reason. And the fact is they were gone before he became (so called great) And during that run there was no one that could play at his level. That is the reason he retired the first time, he had no one to push him. If he was to play today he would be as good, but there are more players that could play him and push him . Don't know how much he has left but he is still one of the best true BIG men in today's game . If they can save him until playoff start they will be hard to beat. Not one team in this years finals had a dominating big man, Howard has no off. to speak of and it truly showed, and with Shaq they will still have to double him downlow and that will help Labron get better looks at open shots. Should make for a good year.

That 2000 team was the fastest team I have ever seen at any level. They played my sons team from Evadale that year in the playoffs. Evadale have a strong team IMP stronger than the 2001 team that won state and the 1st Texas cup. And we could not get the ball to 1/2 court. They played 5 guards and it looked like they had 7 men on the floor. We had them out sized and had a strong inside out game and if we could get the ball on our in of the floor we scored. Just could not get it pasted there press. Like I said before they shot the 3 on a 4 on 1 fast brake. They were a great team. Just wondering did any of those kid play D 1 ball?

You must be young Because Jordan did not start his dominating until Bird And Magic had retired. Who was the other strong farwards when he played? And you are right Hakeem did palm the ball a lot but in the low post that is not as effective as out in open floor. Caring the ball in open floor can create alot of separation and that helped him get the open shot. Not saying Jordan was not great but IMO Kobe, KJ, Labron, D Wade are not far behind

Back in the day I fell so sorry for you and this young mans family. Kids just don't know how fast life can change. I have razed 3 kids the 2 oldest were not bad but the youngest (16) is a hand full. He thinks he is bullet prof and nothing can happen to him. I hold by breath every time he leaves the house. I am going to make him read ever post on this boy. And maybe this can open his eyes. I know posting this is hard for you but I thank you.

I think that it is just as much of the parents responsibility to make sure that there kid shows up in some kind of shape. It is not the coaches that let the kid set in the ac when the payed gardener cuts there grass. At some point the parent is going to have and parent. You cant let someone else do all the work raysing your kid. You cant let a kid show up for 2 a days out of shape and blame the coach for him getting sick. At some point you have to take responsibility for yourself. It is Saterday morring how many kids do you see in your neighborhood out side?

What is the answer to coaches that have to get the kid in shape that has been setting in the ac for 3 months? If they cut out 2 a days they will have to let them start earlyer in the summer. Kids are to soft today and all this babying them is not helping. People wont to know why the kid from lower income family's make it as pro athletes. They don't have the X boxes and Playstations and sit in the ac for hours. They are out side playing something. Sorry I will get off the soap box.

Cavs were in finals last year ,so getting there has not been the prob. This prod will be Shaq's last chance of getting back to finals. He helped Kobe and D Wade get there championships why not help LABRON. He is still one of the best real big men the league has. Don't know how much he has left ,but if they save him for the playoffs they could get there. um, my Celtics won the finals last year. he's just saying they were able to get there. Good post, some karma for you. Back when I played we had jobs during the summer. We learned the value of a dollar and the value of hard work. It made us stronger. Have to second that We all had summer jobs in the ricefields. and ever farmer new what time practice started and ended. We started at 5:30am and end at 9:30 then went to the field to work and went back at 5:00 that afternoon till dark. And had all the water you wonted , out of a gardenhose. And don't remember ever getting cramps 2 and 3 weeks into the season. Last year I went to a game 3 weeks into the season and watch them help ahalf dozzen players off the field due to cramps. Kids today are better athletes but I don't think they are as Tough as the old guys

Yes I am saying that without the rule changes to stop Wilt He would have had mult. 100 points games. In the years he played he was the only true star. That rule was just to stop him and him alone. As for as changing the Wardrobe that was TV, money and NIKE. Look at the rules that were changed to help Jordan score. The league was down in those years and they had to do something to make the game more exciting and scoring is that way in every game. No one likes to see a def. game. Points put asses in seats. Not saying that is bad but that is the truth. As far as the players of today, I think they could match up well with Jordan. I'm not saying they could stop him but I think they could Match him point for point. He was faster and stronger than the forwards he played agains,But I think the players today could match him.

2000 team Brookland I think Maybe Broadus not sure but they won the 1a state that year They were fast and could shoot lights out. Seen them Play in the YMBL and won the small school bracket 1a -3A. They would have a 4 on1 brake and stop to shoot a 3. Only think they lost 1 game that year and that one they were up by 20 in La and coach got mad and they walked out of gym.
