Just got back from the combine at Crosby High School... lots of good looking athletes there.  Lumberton Junior Garrett Bourque looked very good ... running 4.43 in the 40 and 4.09 in the shuttle... good job buddy.  Can't wait to see you on the Football field.  Credeur will have the team ready to play (no matter what the offense)

The 4 fastest from the combine lined up to end the day with a head to head race..... of the 4 on the line.... 3 were from se texas.  Jordan Holmes of Silsbee, Garrett Bourque of Lumberton, and Michael Shaw of Nederland.  Bourque and Shaw were too close to call and they had to line up and run it again.  Shaw edged out Bourque on that one.  Can't wait to see that speed on the field.  Good job guys!!

Good job Garrett Bourque winning the 110s , 300s, and the long jump... next time don't wait til the last jump to hit the board.

Lumberton girls 7th and 8th grade teams both scored over 200 points to win their meets... lots of very talented ladies.  Keep it up girls!!

The times were good considering there was about a 25 mph head wind....

I looked on PA News and couldn't find it either... We showed up to watch the end of the meet and only saw the 200, mile and 4x400... guess they cancelled the 300 hurdles.

Earlier in the thread someone said that the difference in the game was gonna be Vidor's speed... I don't think Vidor's team speed is equal to that of LCM, Silsbee or Jasper... All of them have overall fast teams.  Losing Bollinger even changes that more.  Come on Raiders.. Get that W

To say that Lumberton is underrated is a gross understatement.... My guess is that most posters are looking at record alone when they make predictions that are so lopsided.  Lumberton just lost to LCM by 2 .. (there were many opportunities for them to win that game - noted in other thread)  Vidor beat Kirbyville in a close game and they obviously are in a rebuild year.  Lumberton has lost several key players and if they get up for Fridays game , Vidor will be in for a real surprise...Lumberton by 12...(because we can't make field goals)

I may eat my words.  I do think this is a good Bear team but they did lose some studs from last season.  I would not be surprised to see them in the playoffs.... I do, however, have a hard time believing that they will beat the Raiders (at home) by 28 points.  Guess we will all have to wait and see!!! Hurry up Friday.

Can't wait til Friday... Raiders have been in every game this year.  I can't wait for the boys to come out and start district with a win over the Bears on Homecoming.  Keep taking them lightly and you will be surprised.  GO RAIDERS!!!

Season starts next Friday night. . . Lumberton and LCM both know from past years that winning non-district games is fun but not the teams ultimate goal.  Should be an exciting game to watch.  good luck in district Bears....just not next week. . Lol

All that offensive production and still can't get a win.... ouch.  2 late fumbles, 1 blocked punt, end 1st half on the silsbee 1 ( for the second week in a row) and a missed fg from the 5.. . . oh yeah, and a kick off return for a TD. . . . . Still have not played 4 quarters. Hope our injured players are able to get healthy for district play and coaches find a better rythm with the new offense and we will be a tough out for every team in 20-4a .  Keep your heads up boys!!!!!  SEASON STARTS NEXT WEEK!

Hope he is ok... he is a special kind of athlete and an even better person.  Would be a huge loss for the Bears!

Silsbee beat 2 teams that would have lost to our JV.... Don't think this one will be as easy as you may think.  We are re-building but these boys wont quit.  All they need is a win to get them moving in the right direction... perfect time to put a 7th straight beating on the Tigers.  GOOD LUCK RAIDERS!!!!

Starting out the first 35 seconds of the Jasper game down by 14 would be hard for any team to recover from.  The Raiders continued to shoot themselves in the foot by putting the ball on the ground.  I expect Lumberton to correct some costly mistakes and come out ready to play.  This will not be a blow out!!!!
