I don't know why PA was removed, but I can share the facts of my experience when we were removed from the other league.
Was it the first year, or were you guys there longer?
1st year
Wow. Did they give you guys a reason. In my eyes, its supposed to be about the kids. They totally ignored that very IMPORTANT fact. This doesn't bring us together, it only separates us. But I guess I'm playing the race card. Oh well.
How old is your oldest child and is this your first year playing in sports? I have all girls but I do have nephews that play sports and my girls played sports in Middle School and one played Basketball at the YMCA. Stuff like this happens in all sports, yes sports should be about the kids but in some cases it isn't. It is more about the ego's of a few grown ups than sportsmanship of the kids. Let me tell you about my experience at the YMCA of PA. When my daughter was in 7th grade and just started playing BB a friend of ours got a team of girls together and formed a coed team to play at the Y. The team my daughter was on was the only team to play against the all boy teams and they held their own but lost every time. Now when they played the other girl teams they won but did take some cheap shots and the Coach of one of the teams showed the worst sportsmanship I have ever seen from a grown up and she was over all the sports at the Y. What a great thing to teach those kids. NOT I was so disgusted with this coaches display of unsportsmanship not only to our coach but to the kids. She wouldn't let her team shack out teams hand and she wouldn't even congratulate our coach on winning. That was the last time my child ever played at the Y. It isn't about weather you win or lose but how you play the game and what your coaches teach you. I also wrote a letter to the director of the Y and never heard a word back from them.
My son is 11. He's been playing for awhile now. I haven't told him about the STFJL decision and I won't, because there will always be youth football.
I hate that whatever reason that the PA league was kicked out. Weather it was right or wrong doesn't matter and you probably will never get an answer. Just remind your son that sometimes there are things in life that are not fair but that he should always be the best he can be no matter what. I am sure as a parent you doing everything you can to protect your child from all the ugliness of the world but sometimes we can't we just have to do the best we can. Good Luck to you and your family in whatever the future holds in football and other sports. -

I like Tim Tebow but was tired of seeing so many threads about him and having to mark them all as read all the time. -

Nothing like playing at the Reservation or going over to Nederland. It is all about the atmosphere.
Y'all fail to hear what I'm saying. Wouldn't a better atmosphere be if you can get more of your fans in the stadium? LU provides that. LU also provides better parking. Would that not be a better atmosphere?
For me it isn't about fitting more people into the stands it is about the atmosphere that these two teams have when they are on their field at either school. That is what it is about for most people in both communities.
Well they should have kept their panties up ;) :P
So true but you were talking about him having to pay his soon to be ex wife so it really doesn't matter about her unless of course Kobe's wife wants to go after her also. Crazier things have happened.
Yea, he had a great season. His skills got so intimidating towards other teams that the last game of the season he got pushed out of bounds after about a 30 yard rush and the other team we're trying to punish him. He had late hits, people trying to galg his eyes, piling on top of him while they kneed him and everything. They ripped his jersey on top of everything else. For his safety the trainer coach Elliot and coach stanley didn't let him return to the game. The guy can't hardly go any where to hangout with friends or anything because just him being who he is other people would try to fight him just to keep him from playing. I'm sure that's a non issue for him now, but when baseball season comes around it'll probably all come back.
This is funny. What do we have an NFL star in the making. ;D Maybe he will get drafted now and not have to finish HS.

Made bad choices because their parents could have bought them hoodies, caps or whatever. They are good kids and I hope their parents beat the [s]H&LL[/s] crap out of them when they got home.
Totally understand they just made a very bad choice and should be lucky the store didn't want to prosecute them. Hopefully they learn a lesson from this.
This has nothing to do with the 'school board' or 'higher ups' like some of you are trying to imply. This have to do with a few punk kids that got caught doing stupid stuff. They were dismissed and taken care of accordingly. They have been weeded out and the team have won their ensuing game. So, obviously, the Ozen basketball team (the good ones left) will be fine and have moved forward.
Exactly, people always have to add their two cents in and make things about others.
Celebrating a TD in high school football in Texas has not been tolerated for a long time. If refs are not enforcing the rule across the board, that needs to be handled by their governing authority. But, kids don't need to be doing that garbage. Period.
You mean to tell me that you have NEVER seen a player do a chest bump with his team mates after one of them scores a TD? I have seen it plenty of times in HS by many different teams and have NEVER EVER seen a flag thrown. How is that any different than a player raising his hand while running for a TD? It isn't in my book and if this is a flag then a whole lot of flags need to be thrown right here in SE Texas every Friday night during football season.
