Surely if there was a kicker on the team, Alvarez would have found him by now. Who is kicking off? Cant do extra points? Obviously not or this thread would not be going.

As good as the running game is and the QB is, they should be able to go for two the rest of the year and be fine from the sounds of it.;)

That is one place Jasper is money. Mijares is on on the field goals and extra points!

And continue to think that way all the way home after that final loss.

I think one thing people may be overlooking is the smaller numbers to search, your chance of finding those talented eleven don't just go by percentage, it exponentiates downward. Conversely the larger the number to search the greater chance of finding them. You may can find eleven to field with talent, but there seems to be an assumption that the players behind those eleven will automatically fall off in talent. The larger the number to search may find an equaling of talent over a greater number to choose from. Therefore a team of third string from a 5A school could possibly beat the snot out of a 2A first team. But this is simple mathematics not real life. And as we all know, there are always exceptions to every rule. :D
True dat.
The Lumberton-Silsbee game as far as numbers is concerned is probably the most even since L-Town is the smallest 4a in our district. I personally am curious though what that half student we have looks like and is he/she made up of the top or bottom half? LOL

Could be a righty or lefty! :D

4. Straight from Coach Barbay, Newton will have 9 players that will not play tonight at all and 1 that will only play in the second half. These are for disciplinary reasons. They did not have good reasons for missing Monday practice. Will have a lot of kids going both ways, and on a lighter note said if tackling wasn't better he might put his wife in. I believe Mona could get the job done myself! ;)

Being a KHS alumni, I can say, that the football hasn't been the same since 1974.  we played Newton for bi district that year.  we had a good football and basketball team.  Just makes me wonder what Ted Tate had over the rest of these guys that have come and gone.

As a player at Newton before '74, we hated the guy because he had beaten us a number of times, but he was good for Kountze and the program. I don't know the answer for Kountze other than keep on trying. Winning becomes ingrained in both the team and community. After they expect to win, losing becomes very distasteful. Keep supporting the team.

The Control of the staff I was refering to has been getting out of control for the last 3 seasons enough to make a DC leave town and a few other good coaches . enough that 12 players were MIA for Mondays practice..............but its week one things look bleek but it will all work out in time, I hope.

This guy needs to get a hobby besides running down teams he could never play for... The fact is this guy probably sits by and gets second hand information and spreads it around like he is in the mix. Get a life. Leave the kids and this coaching staff alone.
Apparently hard time are going on so the last thing everybody needs is another bystander running them into the dirt. Thing will come together and start clicking.

P.S.
Meek: The light on my street is out. Come work on that for me... Thanks.

You've got the wrong Meek, close but no cigar. He is right about problems within the coaching ranks.

Nothing more the man can do but apologize and make amends. He's doing that so, unless I have a spotless record behind me...(Let me check -- No, I don't have one)...I will have to accept his apology and wish him well. As for his role-model comment, accepting responsiblity for your mistakes and being man enough to admit it when you're wrong, is probably the best "role-model" attribute he can pass on to his players. God bless!

Exactly. Well said.

Well it could be:
1.Having a winning record over Silsbee.
2. Having a winning record over Kirbyville.
3. etc.
:)

According to the records that I have seen at various sites, Silsbee leads the all-time series with Newton 6-5. ;)

Oh, now you want to be serious.

I'm not asking for names. I'm asking what would be the attraction.

I would say the exotic nightlife that the metropolis of Newton has to offer. ;) ;D

Also, being that it is only a 5 minute drive to Bon Weir is a plus. ;)

Obviously you've been here!lol :D
