EC vs. Dangerfield Predictions?
ChampionEagles replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I was there in '98, but do not remember any basketballs being thrown on the field during any quarter. If it did happen it was not representative of the Newton fans. As you say Daingerfield has a very storied history with all of it's state championships. Between the two clubs there is a lot of Texas football history. Newton has to get past Linden-Kildare first to even begin to think about Daingerfield. EC is going to have it's wagon loaded to stay on the field with Daingerfield. Daingerfield should take this one by 21 plus. -
Newton vs. Buna Playoff Predictions?

Buna and anahuac was only a warmup game. Both teams received byes in the first round. So Buna plays Newton and Anahuac plays Kirbyville. -
Newton vs. Buna Playoff Predictions?
ChampionEagles replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Buna should show well early, but Newton's team speed is just too much for them. Newton's defense does not tackle well and should be some opportunities for Buna runners. Run hard down hill. Newton still wins by two touchdowns plus. -
My son quit football last year...
ChampionEagles replied to longhorn1951's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I see nothing wrong with it if thats what he really really wants to do.BUT I think I would have to go over the reasons why he quit the first time. Are they going to present themselves again?AND is it going to bother him if he has to play JV being a Junior?<--------and the only reason I say that is because you made mention of it.Thats just my opinion.... :)
And if he can come to terms and deal with those reasons so they don't arise again, by all means. IMO the greatest game ever invented. Be sure he understands that to be able to play the game well, he has to be dedicated to the game. One sport where heart and dedication can achieve a lot, not just talent. -
My wife talked to Kelvin Bennett's mother yesterday and she said that the doctor told Kelvin it would be up to him(Kelvin) if he wanted to play Thursday. He has a swollen kidney that they have a pad for. His mother didn't want him to play and I'm inclined to agree. Give it a weeks rest Kelvin, you deserve it. Then come back after the Buffalo win and let's grind on towards a state title. Go Eagles!

Best running back in south east texas
ChampionEagles replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
My point is if you played "JV" players, they can not play JV on Thursday night, there by they cannot be "JV" players. Fred Ford is a great running back that needs no enhancements. He single handidly took Kirbyville in for the winning score on a tremendous run against Newton in the fourth quarter. This is what great running backs do. Newton had pretty much contained him until the fourth quarter. Let his body of work speak for itself. -
KIRBYVILLE WILDCATS VS CORRIGAN-CAMDEN /PREDICTIONS
Good luck K-Ville and CC. I hope no one gets hurt and have a fun game. As a father of a Arp Senior on the team i read alot of post and have to remember that it is good to be in Texas and have pride in your school and your town. I'm lucky i have a son that will be a freshman next year so i hope we have this to talk about for many years. Good Luck again from Arp to both teams.
Spoken like a true father and Texan. Pride in one's children and where you live are what it is about to be human. No better seat on Fridays than in the stands watching your kid play high school football in Texas. I miss it. Good luck to all the playoff teams in east Texas, including Kirbyville, Corrigan-Camden, Newton and yes even Arp. Hope everyone stays healthy. -

He is young and will be back next year!!! If he had the playing time these other kids that you all have mentioned, his numbers would blow all of you out the water..but when you put your JV in before half time, its kind of hard for him to get better numbers and more playing time. JMO.
Easy now, I don't remember seeing any JV players against Newton, WOS, maybe Jasper
i say ford and yes he did play full games against the teams you mentioned, but not against san augustine, hemphill, liberty, shelbyville, woodville, hj, and diboll. kvillefan does have a point.
The same point that any running back from Newton faces every year. When you become a team these singular awards tend to go to other people. Any running back playing can say "if I had gotten more carries, I would be the best". My point. -
I see that Hotrodg has placed troll markings so we're offending the politically correct, I guess. I don't know if he is referring to me or Arptiger or who. I didn't even know there was a troll police. I thought they lived under bridges in fairy tales, but they could exist somewhere like the bigfoot or something. It's amazing what you can learn on wikipedia.org. Now that's off topic.

Newton said that too. ;D
Championship Eagle did you hear that
Yes, and we did say that. And Kirbyville won, but we lived on to play another day. I wouldn't be so cocky if I were you, Arp won't have that opportunity. And you know that #1 ranking is usually picked by a bunch of guys with English degrees that played the sousaphone in the band, so I wouldn't bet the farm it's all that accurate. -

If you look at the numbers, nearly every team in AA on this site has between 2 and 10 posters. If you look at the people in the stands on Friday nights you see thousands. Percentage of posters is small and Arptiger's views are the same, small. This in no way reflects what the overall fan base at Arp thinks and acts like. For that matter Daingerfield, Newton, Kirbyville are all in the same boat. Some of us(and I include myself) are a little more vocal and at times overboard with post. It's a defense mechanism that relieves stress and at times is quite funny. Never does it remove food from my table.

I believe that ECBucFan was attempting to take a shot at Newton. They tend to have a very vile view of Coach Barbay and some of the things he has said and they thought he said over the years. Getting beat by 30plus in the playoffs tends to leave a bad taste in their mouths.
For the record, I haven't said a negative word about Newton, KV, or anyone else in your district this season. Now, with that said: You might have beat EC by 130 for that matter, but that isn't the point- The point IS that it takes some real gall to come here (or anywhere) and WHINE about disrespect. Like I said: You dish it out---You take it!
I don't think I've whined at all, but I have a different view than you. I see it from being on the winning side and Coach Barbay telling the truth. If ya'll get to be any good, come see us. It was Mart before it was Newton that ya'll used to complain about. Not winning is not winning.

coach of the year goes to who this year
ChampionEagles replied to skipper's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I have to vote for Faircloth at PNG, just reading about what he has accomplished with a program this year, with a close second to Bickham from Jasper.
