I admit it....I have been watching baseball.  Is it just my eyes getting bad or.....Does SF Giants out fielder, Cody Ross look like a younger version of Shake and Bake.  Check it out...Same hairstyle and all.  I'm just sayin !

Shannon earned a scholarship to the school she wanted to attend.  It really shows what hard work, dedication, and proper exposure can do for a player.  A special kid with special talent.  I love to see dreams come true.  Super, Super, player and family.  Congratulations !  WLYS

There were a lot of teams in Houston that were not involved in the " Qualifying" part of the tournament.    They were invited to participate in the National Premier last year sometime and did not have to qualify.....they played in the round robin division of the tournament.  There were a lot of teams and a decent number of college coaches in attendance.

Let me be the first to say ....( what we are all Thinking ) ! It sounds like you have a really awsome team,  Going to the national tournament in Colorado and all, and it also appears that there is a big ol' CONGRATULATIONS !!!  due for winning that Fun in the Sun Tournament.  16U is a very important age group for gaining college exposure and it sure looks like your team is on their way.  Good Luck and Best Wishes from all of us here on SETXsports.com. ..... Well said CC but you and I both know that when you run a youth sports organization, ( you have done it, and so have I ),  you are ultimately responsible for explaining to all of your coaches where to draw the line.  I am not picking on OOC, I feel this is true for [b]all[/b] youth sports organizations.  It is well known that your actions as a coach could reflect posotively or negatively on the whole organization.  That was one of the points I was trying to make.  It's time we held organizations and coaches responsible for the things that are said and done.  Anyone who is "in it for the kids" would agree.  Sincerely

...........Just my opinion............. I don't know "Darren" but I have seen his type before. I don't know much about the OOC organization  but I would rather not repeat what I have been told. I Do, However,  know the parents involved. I am not great friends with them but our older daughters have played together for about a year. They have six kids and are VERY commited and dedicated to the activities that their children participate in.  They have a long drive to all of the team events and practices and their kids never miss an outing.  They have older children and a lot of experience with the correct way that a softball player and team should be handled.  Their children are very focused, hard working, and gifted. As a parent you spend a lot of time and money trying to prepare you child for the future.  In the competitive world of softball scholarships,  "there is no time to waste".  Verbal commitments begin the summer after your Freshman year in High School.  The player mentioned is a super kid and a super player. She will not have a problem finding a new team and a better situation.  The parents did the right thing. If you are not happy with the instruction or the team....then move on !  Each parent has to decide what is best for their own specific needs.  "Darren" needs to practice what he preaches. Who would want their daughter to play for a coach that makes the kind of comments that you made. Did you forget that you represent an OOC organization?  How do the other OOC coaches feel about your comments?  Will all OOC coaches bash the parents of any player that decideds to leave the fold?  People are not going to just sit around and let you make these kind of idiotic statements without defending themselves.  What were you thinking ???     In 2018 you will be sitting around polishing your 10-U softball trophies while she will be playing college softball somewhere....and I know you will be sure to take all of the credit for her success. The real Question is ....what are you really developing ? 

If that is true, some of you local jokers are about to find out what it's all about. Most of the big boys will show up and you will have to win to qualify. (not just enter) Good Luck. Git Yer excuses ready ! Mwaaa...ha...ha..ha...ha

While Intensity took home the IFA trophy it is important for us all to keep it in perspective what they have accomplished. Most of us are excited about this team and the spirit in which they played. I am excited for this area to get a glimpse of what could be possible if we can assemble the best players from our area on ONE team. Fact is..... There was only one team at the IFA Tournament that had qualified to play in the ASA Gold Nationals. There are 64 teams in OK city right now did qualify. (Most of the better teams did not attend the IFA Nationals ) Also.... During the IFA tournament there were 168 teams competing in the 16U ASA Nationals. ( Several of the Players in the IFA and the local area are younger and could play 16U ) That is where most of the coaches in the nation were the week of the IFA tournament. That is why you should not skip the 16U age group. It is so important in the recruiting process. Congrats to the Girls that have to play 18U and congrats on your scholarships and your new IFA trophy, but time is short for you younger girls. Be careful !

I agree.....Intensity proved to all what this area might be capable of if we can get the right talent on ONE team ( instead of spreading it around to several teams ). Talent usually beats comitment, and if you have both, then you have something really special !
