Rankings IndexProspect Ranking Lone Star Recruiting's Top 100 (2011) | Orangebloods.com | last sorted on 2/26/2009 2011 Rank Pos Ht/Wt Schools 1 Malcolm Brown Cibolo (TX) Steele RB 6-0/205 list It's not rocket science with Brown. At 6-0, 200 pounds, there's really not any part of his game not to like and he has a legit chance at earning a five-star ranking when it's all said and done. In addition to a great frame, he possesses big-play explosiveness, he finishes runs like he's mad at the world and he's great in the open field. After averaging better than 10 yards per carry in a strong district, Brown has established himself as the earlier headliner in this class. 2 Desmond Jackson Houston (TX) Westfield DT 6-1/265 list If you're looking for a defensive tackle to get excited about in the 2011 class, look no further than Jackson. The 6-1, 265-pound lineman has great quickness of the ball and really impressed people at the NUC combine in Houston this month with his elite-level athleticism. With a frame that can easily carry more weight without causing him to lose much in the way of his athleticism. He's also a very strong young man that lifts 24 reps of 185 pounds. On top of all that, he's an excellent student. 3 Aaron Green San Antonio (TX) James Madison RB 5-11/181 list If we being 100% honest, we're not so sure that when it's all said and done, Green and Malcolm Brown don't trade spots at the top of the top 100 for the next 23 months. Green's game is all about explosiveness. At 5-11, 181 pounds, Green has 4.4 speed and can break a defender's ankles in the open-field. Green finished his sophomore season with more than 2,000 yards on the ground and 27 touchdowns. 4 Marcus Hutchins DeSoto (TX) DeSoto OL 6-5/260 list As good as 2010 star lineman Evan Washington is, he's only the second-best tackle on the DeSoto offensive line because the best in state, regardless of classification might be Hutchins. The 6-5, 260-pound Hutchins is a dancing bear on the field, as he moved from level to level as effortlessly as someone half his size. On top of his outstanding feet and athleticism, this is also a guy that plays the game with a nasty disposition and he uses his hands better than any line prospect I've seen in this class. 5 Leroy Scott Pasadena (TX) South Houston DB 5-10/190 list The 5-10, 190-pound Scott has everything that you're looking for in an elite-level defensive back. The thing that separates Scott from his peers right now is his strong combination of size, athleticism, speed and strength. While most defensive backs in this class are still trying to build their body up, Scott is way ahead of the pack in that regard. At this point, every school that recruits the city of Houston knows who he is and he'll be a target for everyone. 6 Bradley Marquez Odessa (TX) Odessa RB 6-0/185 list The 6-0, 185-pound Marquez exploded onto the scene as a sophomore, as he rushed for 1,743 yards and 21 touchdowns, while adding 30 receptions for 484 yards and five touchdowns. Marquez is an ultra-explosive athlete that can score from any point on the field. As far as big-play performers as concerned, Marquez is right at the top of the list. 7 Spencer Drango Cedar Park (TX) Cedar Park OL 6-6/260 list Drango isn’t quite as forceful in the running game as a guy like Marcus Hutchins, but when you see his frame, footwork and ability to get out and play well in space, it’s easy to see that he’s going to be a major offensive line prospect in the 2011 class. As he continues to fill out his frame, Drango has a chance to be as good as any line prospect in this class. 8 Cedric Reed Cleveland (TX) Cleveland DE 6-6/235 list It's been a while since the Cleveland has an elite-level prospect, but Reed certainly gives them one in the 2011 class. At 6-5, 240 pounds, Reed is an outstanding athlete and is starting to come into his own as a player. Reed has a quick first-step and plays well at the point of attack at times, but he gets by on his raw ability at this point. One of the interesting storylines of his development will be where his body finishes once he's done filling out. He's listed as a defensive end for now, but the truth is he's just big, athletic, great-looking physical prospect. 9 Sedrick Flowers Galena Park (TX) North Shore OL 6-3/275 list Flowers is yet another top-notch power line prospect out of the North Shore program. At 6-3, 275-pounds, Flowers will often maul his opponent, but he's also skilled enough as an athlete that he can get to the second level and block effectively in space. Flowers possesses a terrific punch and is a high-effort player. Once he learns to play with better pad level, he has a chance to be scary. 10 Quandre Diggs Angleton (TX) Angleton RB 5-9/175 list Diggs has emerged as one of the top do-it-all players in the state. Although he’s tipping the scales at 5-9, 175 pound, he’s a powerful athlete that runs a 10.6 100 meters as a true freshman, while posting a 21 ½-foot long-jump. In addition to those elite-athletic skills, he’s a dominating player on the field, as he rushed for nearly 1,500 yards and 25 touchdowns as a sophomore. As if all of that didn’t sound good enough, he’s also the cousin of former Texas All-American Quentin Jammer. Although he can play on offense, this is a kid that lives to punish people on the defensive side of the ball and he’ll likely be recruited as a safety at the next level. 11 Jaxon Shipley Brownwood (TX) Brownwood WR 6-0/170 list It would be easy to simply say that Shipley is the same kind of receiver as his brother (Jordan), but the truth is there's games are not exactly the same. Where his older brother is probably a shade quicker/faster, Jaxon is probably a stronger overall athlete at this stage of his development. Like his older brother, he's an excellent route runner, he has great hands and he has the ability explode out of his breaks to give him easy separation. The family tradition continues. 12 Sheroid Evans Sugar Land (TX) Dulles DB 6-1/185 list The 6-1, 185-pound safety was one of the top newcomers to the Houston area and with his combination of size and terrific speed, he looks to be one of the state top safety prospects. He’s a better athlete than player at this stage, but he’s shown flashes of being a dynamic football player and his physical tools are too hard to ignore at this stage. 13 Desmond Roland Dallas (TX) Lake Highlands WR 6-2/197 list The kid is big at 6-2, 194-pounds and possesses a great combination of strength and athleticism. As a sophomore last season, Roland was one of the top young offensive playmakers in the Metroplex, as he totaled nearly 1,000 total yards of offense, averaging 8.4 yards per rush and almost 16 yards per reception. As a freshman last season, Roland posted times of 4.6 in the 40 and 4.3 in the short shuttle. 14 David Ash Belton (TX) Belton QB 6-3/190 list If you're looking for a potential elite quarterback prospect in 2011, the guy you're going to want to watch first is the 6-3, 190-pound Ash, who earned district newcomer of the year honors after throwing 2,474 yards and 24 touchdowns in his first season as a starter with the Tigers. Ash has a strong arm, can make plays with his feet and plays with a lot of moxie for a young player. 15 Stephen Williams Round Rock (TX) Stony Point RB 5-9/169 list The younger cousin of current Texas sophomore defensive back Aaron Williams, Stephen has been described as a better player/prospect at identical stages by those that have followed both players. Williams is truly an explosive offensive weapon and we he gets his hand son the ball, whether it’s as a receiver or a runner out of the backfield, he’s a threat to score at any time. His elite-level quickness, ability to cut and accelerate on a dime and outstanding overall athletic talent could see him land on the same side of the ball and at the same position as his older cousin. 16 Ladarius Brown Waxahachie (TX) Waxahachie WR 6-2/175 list The 6-2, 175-pound Brown is a two-way star that earned Offensive Newcomer of the Year honors this season after averaging better than 31 yards per catch this season. As those number might suggest, Brown is a beast as a down-field receiver and his ability to make the big play at the receiver position is second to nobody in this class. When it’s all said and done, this might be too low for him. 17 Jordan Wade Round Rock (TX) Stony Point DT 6-4/249 list Has the size, frame and potential to be a big-time prospect in a couple of seasons. Is a plus-athlete that has a higher ceiling than most players in his age group. At this point in his career, he’s getting by on his size and natural ability. When he was matched up against Chad Lindsay of The Woodlands, he really struggled against a player that could match his size and surpass his strength. Overall, Wade is an intriguing prospect and as we move forward into the next couple of seasons, he has a chance to emerge as one of the state’s top defensive prospects. The only thing this kid needs is a greater commitment in the weight room and if there’s one thing we know about the Stony Point program, these kids are going to be developed. If he commits himself to being the best, he might just get there. 18 Chris Barnett Dallas (TX) A Maceo Smith TE 6-5/260 list Barnett is a big, skilled athlete that is just starting to scratch the surface of his immense physical abilities. At 6-5, 240 pounds, Barnett played linebacker and defensive end, but his eventual landing spot as a college player could be inside at defensive tackle. Although he was limited last season because of a groin injury, there are not many kids with Barnett’s combination of size and athletic skill. If he can continue to develop, the sky is the limit. 19 Miles Onyegbule Arlington (TX) Arlington WR 6-3/190 list 20 Anthony Wallace Dallas (TX) Skyline LB 6-2/205 list 21 Taylor Doyle Austin (TX) Lake Travis OL 6-5/250 list 22 Herschel Sims Abilene (TX) Abilene RB 5-10/180 list 23 J.J. Gaines Irving (TX) Nimitz ATH 6-1/160 list 24 Brad McNulty Allen (TX) Allen OL 6-3/302 list 25 Jaylon Finner Missouri City (TX) Elkins DB 5-10/174 list 26 Devonte Thomas Pineland (TX) West Sabine ATH 6-4/180 list 27 Johnny Haynes Irving (TX) Irving Macarthur School WR 5-10/180 list Haynes emerged as perhaps the top young playmaker in the Irving schools system during his sophomore season, as he earned first-team 7-5a after catching 30 passes for 670 yards (20.3 yards per catch) and six touchdowns. 28 Stefan Jackson Kirbyville (TX) Kirbyville LB 6-0/210 list 29 Collin Garrett Beaumont (TX) West Brook LB 6-0/184 list 30 Tevin Williams Euless (TX) Trinity RB 5-11/175 list 31 Ryan Polite DeSoto (TX) DeSoto QB 6-2/185 list 32 Nick Shepard Houston (TX) Cypress Ridge DB 5-10/180 list 33 Jonovan Griffin McKinney (TX) McKinney Boyd QB 5-10/150 list 34 Blake Terry Denton (TX) Guyer LB 6-0/190 list 35 Driphus Jackson Cedar Hill (TX) Cedar Hill QB 6-0/175 list 36 Marquise Anderson Cibolo (TX) Steele DT 6-3/254 list 37 Dexter Foreman Manvel (TX) Manvel QB 6-1/192 list 38 James Rushing Houston (TX) Houston Memorial DE 6-3/219 list 39 C.J. McElroy League City (TX) Clear Creek WR 5-9/165 list 40 Trey Metoyer Whitehouse (TX) Whitehouse WR 6-2/177 list 41 Nathan Gutekunst Humble (TX) Atascocita OL 6-6/290 list 42 K.C. Nlemchi Katy (TX) Cinco Ranch RB 6-1/200 list 43 Chet Moss Cedar Park (TX) Cedar Park LB 6-1/225 list 44 Donnie Baggs League City (TX) Clear Springs DB 6-2/190 list 45 K'Sean Wesley Port Arthur (TX) Port Arthur Memorial WR 5-11/170 list 46 Nathan Broussard Plano (TX) Plano West LB 6-4/220 list 47 C.J. Dayton will win it but it will be very close race with Crosby...If Crosby can get a defense they may be the winner, cause they have the Merka kid back at QB and all there receivers..It will come down to the Dayton/Crosby game...

I'll take the soph.kid from Crosby, heard he was already getting looks from several big schools....

Lumberton vs. Crosby Playoff Predictions?
bigdaddyblue replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
You have not seen Speed until you have seen this Casey kid run,you are talking about the second fastest kid in the whole USA..He has not played in the last 3 or 4 games due to injuries,he played against us (Dayton) and had a long TD run called back.Crosby has some athletes but we just have had there number for the last 10 years, you could go into there locker room and say Dayton and they would start getting that deer in the headlight look..Yaw keep saying Crosby is a pass team but they run out of the spread and can run it too..Look at there stats, there QB has 600 yds rushing..Some of our kids said on film he looks like a white V Young running and he is only a Sophmore.I still say Lumberton wins, but its going to be closer than all you keep saying..I don't know about the speed of the other teams you all have faced in 20-4A but Crosby has 3 kids that run 4.4 and i don't think they all have been healthy this year... -
Lumberton vs. Crosby Playoff Predictions?
bigdaddyblue replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I believe whom ever has the ball last will win the game..Lumberton played us in a scrimmage before the season and we played Crosby in district.I don't think yaw have the speed to stop Crosby and we all know Crosby has no defense. So this will be a high scoring game going down to the wire..Lumberton will rush for 400+ yards and Crosby will rush for 200 and pass for 200.Crosby has great speed at the skilled positions, the one receiver #7 and the Casey kid can fly and even there QB whom is big about 6'4 and i believe is a SOPH can also fly,but like i said they have no defense, espicially there linebackers,so that means ball control wins the game.
