Team Game

My original thought was Nederland or Hardin Jefferson for overall program. Both have seen the importance of working with the youth to build programs. However, with the changes the AD is making in Nederland, I have to think HJ has lots to offer with a full staff that knows and understands the game of basketball.

The games will be on Friday this year?

Is 7 on 7 sponsored by the school or can anyone get a team together?

The issues with the coach did not just come up. Things have been going on for the past couple of years. Some of the same issues I see on here were also going on in PE at intermediate when he was there. Oh to have POWER!

HF had been down early and battled back. It was a little surprising that with Prudhomme out that HF didn't attack until the end. Instead it looked like they just conceded with quite a bit of time on the clock.

Sitting very close to where the incident began, I seriously thought the first T was on the HF kid. Many people around thought the same thing. Maybe even the coaches and the administrators thought this...It was like they knew there were 2 T's, thinking one for each team. Did anyone see the way HJ coaches reacted when HF went to shoot the second set? It was like they realized at that point that both T's were on Prudhomme and not on both teams. The initial start of this particular event was the HF kid....not to say that other things may have gone on prior to this throughout the game.

The glimmer at this point...Bob Davis said after the game, "The last time Kstate beat KU at Bramlage, KU won their last game of the season!" March is the time to shine and we all know only 1 team wins the last game of the season! Rock Chalk!

Any word on who they play and when?

[/quote] Totally agree. Respect. So many schools are doing programs on bullying and what words are appropriate why would it be considered okay. If these same athletes were using some of these words in class, hall or on the court what would happen. If a coach can't use profanity with an official without a consequence then why should it be allowed.

Nederland over Silsbee. Strengths is Nederland is bigger and Silsbee is quicker. They both have a deep bench with good coaches. Just think that Nederland with Coach English would be more disciplined and control the speed of the game, taking the Tigers out of their style of play.

The difference was at HJ they allowed someone inside when another person left. At Silsbee they did for a short time and then stopped. The people waiting outside were told they would let in when someone left. More than 30 left without additional being let inside. Many waited until the 3rd quarter based on the information they were given from the people at the gate.

Why would it be considered acceptable to use profanity in a coaching situation. In reality, coaching is "teaching" a sport and there would be issues if the teachers were using it in the classroom. There would be all source of discipline if the students/athletes were using it as well. It all comes down to respect and being responsible as leaders.
