One that I cannot answer.
Sorry Aggies  that was more of a general statement and not directed at you.
 3. Why would KFDM want to compete with Lamar games?
 4. Why are these games moved to Saturday at the same time as Lamar games?
 5. I have 4.  My family and friends have about 20 in the same section.  Plus we have a tailgating spot.  Ready for the first game!!
 6. Scales named Female Athlete of the Year Gabriel Pruett Orange Leader ORANGE — Orangefield graduate Aimee Scales never believed she would make first team all-district in three sports her senior season. “I never once imagined I would be Athlete of the Year,” Scales said. Scales is exactly that after leaving behind a tremendous career with the Lady Bobcats. Scales has been named the 2010 Orange Leader Female Athlete of the Year for her contributions. This is the first time in the history of the award that Lady Bobcats won the title in back-to-back years. Allie Beach was the 2009 Female Athlete of the Year. She stayed busy this year, along with every year she was in high school. Scales starred in volleyball, basketball and softball. She never took time off and Orangefield fans grew  to always appreciate the hard work she put in. “It has been a nice honor for my senior year,” Scales said. “I loved playing sports. I really don’t know what I would have done without them.” First Scales took to the volleyball court. This year she was named District 21-3A’s Outstanding Outsider Hitter. Scales averaged 13 kills, two aces and three blocks a game. She had 21 kills against West Orange-Stark, a season-high. “Volleyball this year was my main sport,” Scales said. “I was so happy we had the success we had over the last two years. It felt great to be the senior and have the younger girls on my shoulders. Coach Holbrooks did a great job with us. As freshmen we used volleyball season to get in shape for basketball. That is totally different now. Now we wanted to always be pushing for the playoffs and try to reach some goals we set.” Then came basketball season, a very popular season in girls’ sports in Orangefield. The pressure is always on the Lady Bobcats to not only reach the playoffs but challenge for a district championship. Scales was first team All-District 21-3A and was named to the TABC Academic All-State Team. She averaged eight points, six rebounds, three steals and 2.5 blocks a game as a senior. “Every single person in Orangefield goes to Lady Bobcats’ basketball games,” Scales said. “I always had a lot of fun during basketball season and it was always a great experience. Coach Jost always understood me on and off the court. A lot of people don’t realize how great he is to talk to off the court, he is always willing to listen and help out. “Basketball season was always tough because there is so much pressure on us. We tried to carry out the tradition at Orangefield. Coach Jost made us even better.” Then when some seniors call it a year, Scales went right back to work on a different playing field. Scales turned to softball to keep her going. This year was a good year for Orangefield. They defeated their rival Bridge City Lady Cardinals in district. Even though the Lady Cardinals got their revenge and made the playoffs over Orangefield, Scales was still impressed with the Lady Bobcats’ season. Scales batted near .300 this year and was named First Team Outfielder for the 21-3A All-District Team. “I have watched the softball team get turned around,” Scales said. “We have a bunch of girls who are very talented on the team. They really want to win. I can at least walk away and say I was on the team that beat Bridge City. I will definitely be there to watch the team in the future and know they will keep on improving.” So through the years Scales has seen the good and bad times in all sports at Orangefield. Yet even when the bad was really bad, she would not trade her time for anything. “I really enjoyed all three sports so much,” Scales added. “The best is knowing the community supports you like they do. It really makes a difference and I was blessed to be a part of it all.”
 7. Who knows!!  It looked to be Quinton Evans, who I think would have done a great job, but not sure if he is playing now.  If he does not play, then your guess is as good as mine!
 8.
It seems like everyone is taking the white flight to orange field.
Don't know if I would say that, Orangefield has not grown very much.  I do expect to see OF's enrollment to increase the next few years after the city sewer currently being installed is complete.  I think you will see more subdivisions and possibly apartments being built in the next few years.
did huck get a scholarship from mcneese? its amazing what playing the right position and superior coaching will do for an athlete if only for one night.
Huck is walking on at McNeese.  Are you saying he played out of position at OF?  Remember he was Offensive MVP of the district and was far more valuable to OF playing QB than DB.

 12.
why wouldnt evans be playing? focus more on baseball. kid is GOOOODDDD..heard he didnt do that solid though against jasper in game 2. heard he had 4 errors.
Not sure yet on if Q Evans will play football this season.  Alot depends on how his summer baseball goes, but if I had to guess right now, I doubt he plays football.  Can't really blame him, he will more than likely get a D1 baseball scholarship.  This has been a problem at Orangefield the past few years, some of the better athletes in the school dont play football.  Its hard for a school the size of Orangefield to compete in football when some of the better athletes dont play.
 13. From what I've heard, he is not real happy at LSU so look for him to go pro.
 14.

Early in the year the thread "who is the best catcher" came down to parker and felts with felts having been promoted alot more than parker can anyone else see the irony??  Parker when asked always seemed to stay humble and lead his team.. now that felts season is over and having the opurtunity to watch both young men head to head, Parker is the best catcher in southeast texas..
Honestly, what was the point of starting this thread other than to stir the pot.  Absolutely pointless!!!!!
I agree it is pointless and T-daddy is just trying to stir the pot, but I have to give Felts his props.
 15.
You must have been watching different games than most of us.  Parker may have a slight edge in hitting, although Felts had his fair share of hits in that series, Felts is a much better defensive catcher.  Better pop, stronger arm, and had zero past balls!!
 16. Not much talk about this.  Does that mean everyone agrees with the picks?
 17. wow!  He's come a long way since Orangefield!
 18.
The Woodlands pitcher will go top 10 picks.
Yeah probably top 5.
 19.
Could be later rounds on Tuesday or early Wednesday.  Signability will be an issue as his strong commitment to UT will scare some teams off.
I agree!!
 20.

I see Harper got tossed against San Jac at world series then suspended for duration will still go first. Felts might go for the hs kids.
Look for Felts to go in the 3rd or 4th round. I really think (hope) he'll play for UT next year. Barbe HS has a couple of young men that sould see the 2nd or 3rd round. Garin Cecchini was a legit 1st or 2nd round pick until he got injured this season and Homy Rosado has had some excellent workouts with the major league clubs. La Porte's Kendrick Perkins is also expected to go in the early rounds.
A mock draft I saw yesterday had Felts going in the 3rd.  I didn't think he would go that high, but if he does, he might have to consider going.  Although I too think he will still go to UT next year.
 21. Congrats Bulldogs, now go bring home that title. Great season Bobcats.  Keep your heads up.  It has been a privilege watching most of you the past four years.  Best of luck to the seniors.  It was a fun ride. I have to share this about Jacob Felts.  After the game tonight I was able to get to talk to him and the first thing he said to me was "I'm sorry we did not get to state".  I told him he didn't have to apologize for anything.  What a great baseball player and even better young man.  It was fun watching him and Jace Statum the past four years.  I have some great memories I will never forget.
 22.
In games like these, the team who makes the least amount of mistakes will win.
Agreed!!  Both teams will put the ball in play, its whoever's defense makes the least mistakes.  You cant give either of these teams more outs!!
 23. Glad they are playing at Lamar.  It could be a slight advantage to whoever wins getting to play on field turf before heading to Disch-Falk since it is field turf too.
 24.
no disrepect to OF but you have no clue what Robinson is going to do to OF baseball team. The only team setex that can beat Robinson is Jasper. I guess OF can support Jasper when they play Robinson. ;)
Good Call!!
 25. Q Evans hit another shot today in game 3!!!  Keep the bats going next weekend Bobcats!!
