Believe me anyone from Orangefield knows who Buna is. This use to be a big rivalry. Like I said in another thread this is the 51st meeting between these two schools with the series tied 24-24 with 2 ties.

How could you!! ;D Seriously though, these two teams first game was 1934. They have not played each other every year since then, but this year is the 51st game between the two. Series is tied 24-24 with 2 ties. This use to be a big rivalry game, not so much anymore since Buna dropped to 2A.

Yeah, I was just venting a little.

Why are they playing during the day? I won't be able to make it. Hopefully someone will be there to keep us updated.

Lumberton looked good. At times they struggled running the ball against BC, but they really exploited BC's secondary. Their defense looked pretty solid. Like all teams this early in the season, they have some work to do, but they will compete for a playoff spot. I will say this, I saw Vidor yesterday too and at this early point in the season, Vidor looked to be the better team. I was a little disappointed in BC's offense. I expected them to move the ball better than they did. I know it's early, but I really expected their offense to look better than it did.

I watched Orangefield practice this afternoon. I like the offense. I think it fits our personnel well, it will just take some time to learn it. This is only the second day most of these kids have ran it.

He has brought excitement for the football program back to the community. Thats something that has not been around here for some time.

Not sure of Orangefield's schedule, but they do have to report before 6:30am on Monday!

Ancelot is gone. Her and her husband have already moved to Alaska. She will be coaching on a reservation.

She did get a job in Alaska, but left for personal reasons also. Tidwell hired Emily Spickler as an assistant.

She's moving to Alaska.

Does anyone know if Tidwell has named a replacement for Sondra Ancelot?

I like Orangefield's chances with 8 starters back and the addition of Huckabay who was 24A Offensive MVP!

Kirbyville will move back up to 3-A because they have 452 people enrolled there now and the top number for 2-A is 429 Man, Kirbyville is growing.....It is like they and Lumberton who are actually having a good increase in their school census. Are there any other schools growing a great deal in the area? Orangefield? Silsbee? LCM? Orangefield may have a few more students, but it will not be enough to make a difference as far as realignment goes. I would guess somewhere around 530. They will still be on the lower end of the numbers for 3A.

I believe the kid is going to be a senior, how can he sit out a year?

I would assume that his mother will stay at HD as the Super. If so, does he come to OF with his dad or stay at HD with mom.

Congrats to Allie! She did have a great senior year. Offensive MVP in Volleyball, 1st Team All District in both Basketball and Softball, and won district in the discus. Best of luck to you at Texas Lutheran!

Now if we can just get more than 500 people to show up to the games!!
