  1. Thanks Kicker. Our problem is depth. If any of our key players go down, then it could be a long season for us. Right now though we are looking good. We could be a spoiler. Don't overlook us, although I'm hoping some teams do.
  2. You sure about that Buna score. I heard they won 8-0 (1 td and a 2 point conversion) not 8 TD's.
  3. He's doing a good job. We should be ok this year, but I'm really excited about our freshman group. I was very impressed with them today. Got some size and speed in that group. When they are Jr's and Sr's we should be very competitive.
  4. We could if we stay healthy. We had a couple of guys out today with some nagging injuries. We should be ok.
  5. Both first team offenses scored once and each second team scored once also. The second time Huffman's first team O had the ball, they drove the field and OF held them on 4 plays from inside the 10. OF's first team was driving the field and got inside Huffmans 20, but ran out of plays. Huffman finished with 8 first downs to OF's 10. There was about a 20 minute rain delay and when both teams came back out, there were some turnovers due to the wet field. Overall both teams looked good at times, but also did not look good at time too. Both have some work to do, but that is expected this early in the season. Subvaristy scores: JV OF - 0 Huffman - 0 Freshman OF - 3 Huffman - 0
  6. Dude it was a joke, get over yourself!!
  7. Congrats to Mr. Dishon. I think he needs to quit football and just concentrate on baseball now.
  8. For Todd Dodge to come here, Lamar would for sure have to update its facilities. Southlake Carroll has better facilities than Lamar does right now. SLC has an indoor practice field that the Cowboys use to use on bad weather days. The Cowboys have since built there own.
  9. As a player lost 70-0 to HF my Sophomore year. OF beat Kountze 99-0 in the late 70's or early 80's.
  10. I should be there too, we scrimmage that morning.
  11. I remember this one from last year. Great Hit. Great Catch. Good play on both sides.
  12. Here is what I found. Still trying to verify with the UIL. According to section 1208 (n) of the UIL Constitution and Contest Rules: MASCOTS, FIREARMS, PYROTECHNIC DEVICES, Balloons. Live animal mascots, cannons, firearms, fireworks, etc. are prohibited at League athletic contests. Except in their normal course of business, emergency vehicles shall not flash lights or sound sirens during the course of a game. Noisemakers are prohibited at League athletic events held in field houses and/or gymnasiums. Releasing balloons is prohibited at League athletic events held outdoors. Local school districts are allowed to make more restrictive policies for their stadiums and schools.
  13. I'm still trying to clarify this, but I thought I had read somewhere that it was against UIL rules for emergency vehicles to use their lights and sirens during the game. For instance, when the home team scores and the firetrucks lights flash and the siren sounds. I'm not sure about before the game, but I do think it's against the rules to do it during the game. I'm still checking and will let you guys know what I find out.
  14. I played against Dexter Hebert. He was the best I ever played against. I remember him on a toss play and our little CB came up to tackle him. He hit Dexter in the legs and got a concussion. He made the tackle, but was out the rest of the game.
  15. I definitely think some teams from the 80's could compete with todays teams. I think kids today are bigger and faster, but those 80's guys I think could hang. In Orangefield, some of our better teams were in the 80's and there is no doubt that I think they could hang with our teams of recent years. What do you WOS guys think? Do you think the 85,86,87 teams could compete with last years team? I do. That 87 team may have been the best team to ever come out of this area.
  16. I'm going to try my best to ride by OF and check them out.
  17. Yeah Kicker is wrong, the vistor side sits atleast 7 and GoStangs loves that stadium because he can now finally make a catch because he is so close to the cheerleaders that they throw it underhand to him.
  18. Great topic! Here are the ones I can think of, maybe some of the old timers (Bleedorange & Bobkat ) can help me out with some names I may have missed. Orangefield 1. Jeff Granger 2. Beaux Daville 3. Toby Shultz 4. Bradley Peveto 5. Kirt Hobbs 6. Tommy Peevy 7. Garey Burt Peveto 8. Todd McManus 9. Anthony Schlicher 10. Scott Francis
  19. That would be fun. I'm trying to remember if OF/Vidor have ever played. I can't think of any. Maybe back in the day, but not in the last 20 years or so.
  20. Hey etbu, you coming to Orangefield for the scrimmage?
